WWW's six week 10 year younger boot camp, WEEK 1 all over again, everyone welcome

WideWebWitch · 13/05/2007 21:45

This is week 1 of the fourth boot camp of 2007 , everyone is welcome.

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage

Hello everyone.

I am back. Am taking myself in hand and trying not to get what is happening around me (DP's depression) get me down - I need to be on good form for my kids mentally and physically (and for myself).

Have got myself a moron pedometer and have been using for the past few days. Aiming for 13-14K steps a day.

Good healthy eating yesterday and today. DP is off the booze so am not drinking at all at home, although am going out with friends tonight so will have a glass of wine.

Sorry to hear about your job and your dad www - it was the anniversary of my Dad's death this week too and I have felt very tearful. It's 6 years for me and sometimes still feels very raw. Lots of love x

motherinferior · 18/05/2007 12:52

WWW how absolutely appalling. Please stay well, well off the wagon this weekend, sweetie. Hope DS is better soon, Marina, and I hope you feel less grim soon Puddle and everyone else.

I am utterly worn out (but saw doc this morning, will have blood tests and all and so on) but am determined to go for said haircut tonight.

WideWebWitch · 18/05/2007 12:54

Puddle, 6yrs for me too, my dad died on 18 May 2001. Lots of love to you too.

Sobernow, I haven't decided. They want me to do a very hard horrible piece of work and then hand over, once I've done the hard stuff and it's all rosy in the garden. And I'm buggered if I feel like doing it so I think I'll just look around and see what happens.

I have 3 other things I'm thinking about though: a managment book (half written), a book along the lines of the timewaster letters (an idea, not yet started) and the website I've been on about for ages. So I'm exploring all of those too and am newly motivated to work some more on them.

I do have something to look forward to, the hotel in a couple of weeks and a week off quite soon too.

Btw please can I have collective outrage at the fact that Tesco are selling something called something like 'in yer prime' and it says on the outside 'for women over 40' I saw it and thought FUCK OFF! this might be it actually The one above it is for women younger than 40 and is called The Blooming Years. Hrmph. So we're not blooming then?

OP posts:
WideWebWitch · 18/05/2007 13:01

Yes, here we go, if you're 18yrs+ then you get this otherwise it's in yer prime for you.

Yoyo - it's in Singleton Park. You start off running up a hill, which is hard! Although it's hard to avoid hills in Swansea

Dinosaur - that sounds very healthy but aren't you ravenously hungry now?!

Caribbeanqueen · 18/05/2007 18:17

Sorry to hear some of you are having a bad day. www - very sorry about your job.

Not managed to get on the computer much this week. Bootcamp-wise, it's not been too bad. I did have a couple of hormonal binge days and half a bottle of champagne last night, but I have sworn off the alcohol now for a while to make up for the excess.

Plenty of fruit, plenty of water, lots of moisturising and suncream, but no exercise, although I have lots of it planned for tomorrow and a lovely weekend to look forward to.Have a good weekend everyone

glitterfairy · 18/05/2007 18:24

HI Pamina since starting work on my diet and lifestyle tis year I have lost over three and a half stone run a 5k race am doing 10k in four weeks and only drank ten or so glasses of wine this year.

I feel totally different and it is so nice to be able to go into shops and buy anything I like again (well apart form money worries).

WWW am so sorry and really understand. At the start of this week I thought I was going to be completely bankrupt and out of a job and have worked hard all week and now end up being offered one today and some more in the pipeline which are really exciting. Its weird because this time last week I felt desperate.

I ran 2 miles after school drop-off and then went back for afternoon pick-up 15 minutes early and ran another mile (car park near school is on forest). So feeling pleased about that.

Have moisturised twice this week, which is twice more than normal

Still not drinking enough water or getting to bed early though.

Fitting in the extra exercise this week has given me a huge energy burst and I've done HUGE amounts of work today and will definitely be going to bed early. With DH

hello
how is everyone going?

I bought a shed load of benefit cosmetics today to help me look younger, and a Low GI DIET, there I said it, DIET book because it has a meal planner and I won't stray. I picked up the dumbells again and I listened to lots of my favourite band very loudly which always makes me happy.

DH met them again last week in LA and I like to call him a lucky &u@* at regular intervals when I am going about my suburban mommy business.

But good luck to you all and your food yesterday sounds great WWW.

winnie · 19/05/2007 10:39

I need to up my water intake and I've realised that I've not cleansed my face for a couple of day How did that happen? It explains the outbreak of spots though!

Generally however everything is going well

Have a good weekend everyone

I could list everything I've eaten and - more particularly - drunk today but it would only be, well, embarrassing. I am somewhat bloated and have had to undo the jeans which fitted perfectly well this morning

So I may suggest Mr Inferior and I crack open that nice bottle of mid-price fizz in front of Dr Who with bagels and smoked salmon scrambled eggs, what the hell, and go for broke.

Monkeytrousers · 19/05/2007 21:37

Well I was at a Virgin Vie party last night with Niceglasses and drank quite moderately but ate lots of veggie pizza.

Oh WWW! Sorry, I missed you on the train (and sorry to hear about the job too) - I literally posted and then was told we were arriving at Lincoln and had to shutdown the laptop. Once I arrived at my parents house I re-entered the dark ages and couldn't get online. I've just landed in from the UK and am back in circulation with broadband and other such voodoo according to my mother.

Will ponder the change in my lifestyle between here and the UK and post back. My friends were speechless at the change in me. Although that could have had something to do with me turning down frites with mayo and wine and then being the first to go to bed for the first time in 20 years rather than sheer beauty of course.

Apologies for not reading the rest of the thread and posting rather vaguely. Am suffering post flight blur. Glad to see lots of new converts though. Will take the time to read the thread tomorrow during our team meeting . And now am off for a nap with DD to try to deal with a 9 time zone shift in 1 day. [fat chance emoticon]
