WWW's six week 10 year younger boot camp, WEEK 1 all over again, everyone welcome

This is week 1 of the fourth boot camp of 2007 , everyone is welcome.

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage

Hello all

Well done

Londonmamma · 14/05/2007 10:25

Hi all
Started OK. Wore sunscreen (never do), drank water before my morning tea and will try to drink more throughout the day. I find it's manageable if it's warm from the kettle and I remember a shiatsu man years ago telling me warm water was good for the body. Also did some stretches etc. In this six weeks I'd like to tone my tummy up. It is seven years since the last baby after all!!

Good luck everyone

suzywong · 14/05/2007 10:30

Genesis

what are you thinking of moondog?

I have once again been swayed by charcuterie, the German delicatessen's pork is all Free Range so naturally I showed my hearty support by buying lots of it. And it does go so well with white bread.

however I have played incessantly with ds2, even walking up a lop sided gum tree like a mamma jaguar and a boy jaguar. (it made me slightly bad tempered because it highlighted the sorry facty my jeans were too tight around my meaty thighs, but I did not pass on my ill humour to my boy jaguar)

Good luck to you all.

winnie · 14/05/2007 11:27

Marina, well done on the weight loss

Glitterfairy, hello! How are things?

Londonmamma, I absolutely relate to the needing to tone the post pregnancy tummy 7 years later

glitterfairy · 14/05/2007 11:29

Winnie I am well very well. X is still the complete tosser he always was but life continues and things are going well. Despite numerous bad stuff happening I have lost nearly three and a half stone and taken up running.

Off now for a swim with suncream applied. Will lather myself in cream afterwards.

feetheart · 14/05/2007 11:34

Right, I'm in again. I think the last few weeks were a gentle introduction but I'm going to try serious bootcamp mode this time.
I've realised that nibbling is one of my downfalls - cereal, toast, cooking ingredients, cake mixture, children's food, etc, etc, etc I'm also quite a snacker so am going to add 'No nibbling' and 'limited snacking' to my rules and see what happens.

Anyone got a S Times CD going spare? - that's my era! Lovely image WWW but find it hard to believe you can listen to Sex Pistols 'quite quietly'. Echo Beach came on the radio in the car the other day and was accompanied by DD (age 4, going on 14) saying 'Its too loud Mummy' "Nooooo, don't sing Mummy'! Needs more training methinks, I wonder where my 'Sound of the Suburbs' Cd is

Turquoise, glad you're back, wanted to thank you for Eucerin recommendation. Bought some last week and even after 4 days I can feel a difference. Now need to order a Moron!

tortoiseSHELL · 14/05/2007 11:38

I'm in! Need lots of encouragement to keep on the water, walking etc. My downfall is late nights, and boredom at home. I have a very 'down' time early afternoon - 1.30 ish when ds2 is in bed, dd is playing and I intend to get on with jobs, but get very tired and cold ( my hands go blue!) and I just have to eat something unhealthy and sugary to perk me up. Then that destroys a day of good resolutions and i think 'oh sod it' and write the day off.

Any ideas?

Well done everyone who's doing so well!

yoyo · 14/05/2007 12:21

Did my run in the gym but it nearly killed me! I really can't believe the difference listening to music you like makes (as well as shutting out the grunts of the other gym users). Am now body brushed (makes such a difference to your skin) and creamed and feel full of beans. Food has been great so far as I have only had my cereal. Soup for lunch and am making a sausage and potato pie for tea which I will have a little of accompnaied by a mountain of veg.

Well done Marina on the weight loss. Sales of the Moron will be rocketing with all these success stories.

Am going to listen to that CD now.

prufrock · 14/05/2007 12:22

Goodness I was drunk last night. My typing was worse than cods and only some of that can be balmed on the lack of tips on 2 of my fingers.

I have been very good so far today and fully intend to continue to be so.

marina - well done on the weight loss and I still have the speccie if you'd like it.

batters - mine are new to Club Penguin but very enthused about it already arrghhh. What have I started!

I have done no exercise for ages now largely because of ds's ear thing and my cold. Will have to do something tonight - might go for a run if it stops pissing down or more likely, do one of davina's dvd things.

I also eat A LOT more when dh is around. Luckily he isn't much at the weekend otherwise I'm sure I'd be twice the size! My weight gain seems to have halted at least.

did stroll past Lush this morning and get some nice cream but this meant I missed the courier (sod's law) so will now have to wait in the whole day tomorrow arrrrrrrghhhh

Cappuccino · 14/05/2007 13:08

okay I am here please

I am a refugee from the mysteriously vanished 10/10 thread (did they all go missing? did they all start eating Macdonalds suddenly? Where are they?)

I run a bit

and am doing very well at going to bed early

I drink a lot less than I once did

I drink my water cos Flylady tells me to

I have just lost 10lbs (few to go)

have sunscreen question though please since I am trying to protect my huge nose for the future (it has had much sunburn in it's time due to hugeness and it is damaged as result so wish to prevent dire catastrophe)

do we put sunscreen on before or after make-up?

(do we wear make-up?)

Hi everyone, mixed weekend. Ate too much, drank way too much, no sunscreen, you get the picture.

However, I did go swimming and do 40 lengths last night.

However, I did come home and eat a jam doughnut .

So far today, I have a bacon sandwich and a cheese sandwich, so need to get myself into gear.

I will be ordering a Moron this week.

Caribbeanqueen · 14/05/2007 13:26

Prufrock - thanks for the offer of your gym. Very sweet of you and I might just take you up on it

Caribbeanqueen · 14/05/2007 13:33

Oh at at the risk of losing all credibility and dignity, nobody speaking to me again and showing my age, here's my exercise playlist from my ipod:

Ricky Martin - She Bangs
The Jam - Town Called Malice
Boomtown Rats - Don't Like Mondays
Cure - Lovecats
Madness - Baggy Trousers, Wings of a Dove
Martha and the Muffins - Echo Beach
Scissor Sisters - Take Your Mama Out
Undertones - Teenage Kicks
Elvis Costello etc. - Oliver's Army

And a couple of others I won't even mention

Cappuccino · 14/05/2007 13:37

thanks batters

but will hang around anyway

kate100 · 14/05/2007 13:38

Can I join you? I always try and rememeber to do these things, but doesn't always happen. I have a 14 weeks old puppy so I can do the walking, but I have real trouble with the water and the moisturiser, where does the time go, it gets to 5 in the evening and I realise I haven't had a drink since lunch time. I will try harder.

Does sunscreen in moisturiser count? Or do I have to wear both?

motherinferior · 14/05/2007 13:41

Am kind of resting - literally - on account of aforementioned exhaustion but am trying to be person of healthy eatingness...

Londonmamma · 14/05/2007 14:19

OK - we need a sunscreen answer, I asked that one too Kate! Is it OK to wear moisturiser with sunscreen or does it have to be the heavy factor stuff?

Tortoiseshell - why don't you do MN at that time as a treat, instead of eating? Make sure you have a good lunch so you're not peckish. Or is there another treat you could have instead of just doing chores? A soak in the bath? a nap? I nap in the day if I can 'cos I'm rubbish at going to bed early.

I like that list CQ!
(What else yer got then?)

Londonmamma · 14/05/2007 17:05

Thanks, Batters

iota · 14/05/2007 17:09

It's a conspiracy I tell you - they are all out to get me.

I have been forced to make choc chip cookies by ds1.

They are delicious - and 10 more are cooling on the rack

kate100 · 14/05/2007 17:35

Thanks, Batters, sorry LondonMama didn't see your question.

Have been trying much harder with the water and I don't feel as headachey this afternoon.
