Really? I'm glad i'm not the only one then.

The blurb was always that it had actual pheromones ect. Don't believe that obvs, but it was/is lovely.

That Canadian site has it and will ship it but i got all the way up to converting to paying in uk£ and it came to £50. Can't splash that much out right now, but thank you so much! I'm going to bookmark the site and when i'm feeling flush i'll go for it. I still don't get why you can't buy the women's one over here any more

Spurred on by all this curatorial activity I've been updating my wardrobe on Basenotes. Got everything they recognise on apart from Avon and samples. Does anyone else use Fragrantica or Basenotes to keep track?

You could try this Laiste Japanese sex appeal. Much cheaper, not bad postage. In my experience Japanese stuff takes about a month.

I have most stuff on Fragrantica MrsG but I am a bit idle about updating. Also the list gets sooo long However, Fancy is making me feel like an amateur

SOTD is Chanel Gabrielle. I like this for pottering about at home, nice and fresh - I would never buy a full bottle though because it’s just not very interesting.

Have either got much in the way of search or sort features? Would be cool if you could see them grouped by nose, or fragrance family?

I like the fact that Basenotes separates samples, and I do find the Fragrantica one difficult to view (all the bottles from the same house look the same!), and can't seem to change my 'favourites').

Fragrantica has a change button, just under the faves shelf. Try pressing it.

My interest is definitely piqued pestilentialboundary. Packaging is a bit similar. My only concern is the blurb says:

DH going crazy with desire over me? ... i could definitely cope. Women? ... no ta

To get things to show up on the notes tab of Fragrantica you have to tick the to test button on the perfume's home page and then a dialogue box pops up.

So nose, notes etc have to be manually added.

Thanks Pest - I wonder if these databases will get upgraded at some point? And I was clicking that change button earlier - honest! It is working now. I do like the Fragrantica timeline function.

I'm appealing for help! I bought some lovely vials and decants from somewhere in London (online) a couple of years ago, from a shop I'd seen on one of the early fragrance threads.

Maybe Bloom CecilyNeville? I'm not sure what other places are London based, but hopefully some others might know.

Laiste you’re in good company- we’re big fans of Jovan in our house! My DH wears the regular for men version and I wear the musk for women- it’s a straight up sexy strong musk. I’ve seen the sex appeal one for men in boots (years ago thinking about it) but not women. They are cheap as chips and still popular in America. Perhaps you need to find a Perfume mule who is heading to the states soon to bring you some back?

well, i had a browse on ebay and i found a Lush Smugglers Soul solid perfume, brand new for under a fiver and £1 postage so thats been ordered

Maybe i'll give the women's basic musk a go. Bought the men's Sex Appeal for DH a couple of years ago from Savers or somewhere more for a laugh than anything and it's lovely on him! He's a JPG fan (among others, he's got more smellies than me!) and it's unlike anything he has already. So warm and lingering.
