I'm afraid I scrubbed Lemon in the end and have reverted to the comforting warm grubbiness of L'air de rien. It was nice enough but just not right today - will wait for the spring I think!

BigPuddleOfFloofyCatOnTheFloor · 30/03/2018 15:14

Just a very quick post as SNAFU here, but pineapple thank you, arrogant cat turned up and I actually kind of love it Blush I think I'm just a sucker for a cat reference Grinbut this would be a lovely Christmas one. It's a little reminiscent though of a scented candle in the kind of garden centre frequented by people who think a trip out to the garden centre is terribly exciting that'll be me and DH then WinkI do like it though and would definitely wear again, and at the FS price maybe even FB worthy!

mrsreynolds · 30/03/2018 15:49

Weather has turned horrible
So PP opium I think

MrsGruber · 30/03/2018 15:51

Dawn or Dusk Floof?

Another day, another Iris. Well, two actually.

Got up very early to finish work so I can have the whole weekend off, started with E Coudray Iris Rose (one of my faves). It’s only an EDT so was pretty much gone by lunchtime so now in Floral Street Iris Goddess. I do like this one but the Iris smells similar to Bottega Venetia Eau de Velours, but the BV is a bit more complex. So I’m not sure im going to ask for a FB for my Bday now. The price is tempting though...

LibertyBlue · 30/03/2018 16:04

Haha Floofy I spent this lunchtime walking around a garden centre sniffing scented candles and had a great time! It seems to be a very popular activity on a bank holiday. The animals and cafe are also very entertaining for the little one, so it’s a cheap day out Grin

I was just clearing out a drawer and found a small bottle of SJP Lovely I think I blind bought a couple of years ago. This is highly rated by many, isnt it? I really, really don't like it. Not often this happens to me, but one spray on my wrist has made me feel seriously nauseous. I don't know what the offending note/s is/are, but it smells like horrible fabric conditioner and 1980s Impulse body spray. Yuck.

MrsGruber · 30/03/2018 16:28

There's a little used bottle of Femme parfum going very reasonably in half an hour (German seller - hopefully not the one you've had trouble with PiaM?).

I feel similarly about sjp lovely!
My sister wore it a lot

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 30/03/2018 16:36

i love SJP lovely, i am always complimented on how i smell when i wear it! that said, i know a few people who hate it as well so i guess maybe it is oen of those you either love or you hate with not much middle ground

BarbaraCartlandsFloofyCat · 30/03/2018 17:05

MrsG I think it was Dusk, but Pineapple will say if that's wrong! Pineapple, sorry I forgot to say I hope all is going as well as it can with your DF, it's difficult isn't it. You may already have seen it but there is a good support thread in the Elderly Parents section?

Fancy I'm a bit the same with Chanel, I do love No. 5 EP and also Allure which I find very "go to when can't decide properly" but the others just don't do it for me. Now their lipsticks on the other hand...Blush

PIAM eBay dicks really annoy me, I have one at the moment and keep telling myself it's no big deal in the amount I spend on there grand scheme of things but really I want to throw heavy perfume bottle tops through windows Grin

SOTE is MG Lemon. I love it and it feels right for this time of year. Also when I buy new stuff I always want to wear it straightaway, have been known to wear new shoes out of shops Blush

MrsGruber · 30/03/2018 17:16

Looks like this week's 4160 T's half price marvel is Silk Lace & Chocolate. Better than an egg?

MenaceStrikesBack, sorry! I was very harsh on Lovely, but my reaction was surprisingly strong. Maybe it really is a Marmite fragrance?

mrsreynolds · 30/03/2018 18:50

I really can't mrsg
Tempting as it is 😁
I loathe sjp lovely - I think I really took against it because based on its notes I should love it and I guess I was disappointed

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 30/03/2018 19:26

Hope everyone's had a good Good Friday today. Bliss to not be at work Grin Spent the day helping at DS1s school tarting up their Forrest School already for a warm dry stationary evening.

SotD was Dali Wild having heard Count's review and thinking it would be a good for a day outdoors. On me the green definitely dominates - nice enough. Will be in town on my own with the boys (ie no DH) so may pop into big independent chemist and see if they've got any Yardley Jade.

"Enjoyed" the 4160s e-mail saying the workshops are starting with gin. Sob. Silly clashy dates...

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 30/03/2018 19:27

That should be so ready, not already. The Forrest School has not been pimped up for a dry night...

OCSockOrphanage · 30/03/2018 19:30

SoTD was PP Sycomore, and lovely! Hope the parcels are landing; if not yet, then tomorrow!

Don't tell me that, I was planning on driving!!

ISpentTheDayInBed · 30/03/2018 20:17

I don't understand the complexities of perfume like some of you do. i am ejoying the MG Lemon today, which I didn't like when I tried a few weeks back. I love it today . I do like Jo Malone's citrus scents, they suit me and last for ages, but perhaps not as complex as the MG which could be why it took me a couple of goes to get used to it. However, my hair smells absolutely gorgeous tonight. Still the MG, so so lovely. The rest of me smells nice, but my hair... Can anyone explain this?

Judydreamsofhorses · 30/03/2018 20:37

SOTD is Bella Freud 1970. I am on HOLIDAY, and my students bought me a big Easter egg this morning, so winning.

auberginesrus · 30/03/2018 20:51

Had a brief sojourn into town today so popped by The Fragrance Shop and had a try of MG Plum. So disappointed that I didn't like it. Had to scrub it off when I got home Sad

My TFS online order arrived this afternoon so I will be passing my solid perfume Plum onto someone as a present - but I'm very tempted to open the pack to have a look of the snitch.

In better news I have enjoyed Yardley Jade v much today.

auberginesrus · 30/03/2018 21:13

Has anyone tried Silk Lace & Chocolate? Wondering if it's worth a punt blind.

mrsreynolds · 30/03/2018 21:24

If you like gourmands you'll love it

LibertyBlue · 30/03/2018 21:46

Silk lace and chocolate is one of my favourites- however I disliked it when I first tried it - I just found it weird. Now I love it and it’s my cuddle up on the sofa scent- in fact I’m wearing it now! I wouldn’t leave the house wearing it though. But then I wouldn’t leave the house wearing any gourmand.

The notes are Chocolate, bergamot (can just smell a bit citrusy so can be interpreted as chocolate orange), strawberry.

MrsGruber · 30/03/2018 21:50

It's a very true chocolate Aubergines. Bit too edible for me , but it has lots of fans.
