SotD Firedance.

The Mh's have arrived, but I am saving them for DD as she has bagsy on the Rose en Noir and noix de tuberose (Thanks Blue C Wink)

VioletWillow · 28/03/2018 14:05

Happy birthday Fancy!
I also am getting tempted by this MG fragrance, the lemon sounds delicious! I may have to have finger slippage...

mrsreynolds · 28/03/2018 14:36

Sotd mitsouko

Has anyone else seen the post where the MNetter was considering pouring away Guerlain LHB Shock? Just the thought of that brings a tear to my eye.

She wants to know what to do with all her nearly full bottles as the charity shop won’t accept them! I think Sock suggested she come over to our thread Grin

LibertyBlue · 28/03/2018 17:42

I’ve really enjoyed MG Lemon today. It’s not a massively ‘bright’ citrus, it’s quite complex interesting and powdery. Very unusual and rather lovely. Don’t dismiss if you’re not usually into citrus fragrances.

CountFosco · 28/03/2018 17:44

I got lots of incense, vetiver and patchouli

And those notes are why I went for Fire rather than Plum. Although I was tempted by the solid perfume. Anyway, my MGs have arrived! Anyone wants some lemon or fire let me know.

SotD Lentisque. Very fresh and green and great longevity. Sprayed at 8am and I can still smell it now. But sillage weak and haven't particularly noticed the separate mastique note that this is suppose to be all about, I get galbanum (but not as much as in Papillon's Dryad) and vetiver (but not as much as in Guerlain's Vetiver) and now I'm getting a touch of the musk. Pleasant and work appropriate but in some ways it's reminding me of ckONE with it's uber clean smell. Looking forward to my next green perfime though Grin.

AlexisColbysFANCYfrock · 28/03/2018 17:50

Thank you for all the birthday greetings, lovely perfumistas!

You guys are also REALLY selling MG Lemon and Plum to me Grin

I got another perfume gift today! My sister - who is a lovely sister, far more gorgeous and glam than me, but also a certified PM lovey who wears Angel, LVEB and Mon Paris Wink - gave me TF Velvet Orchid!
I have never sniffed a TF perfume before but I have to say it’s really nice. I got a big booze and honey vibe for a while which was gorgeous, but now I’m getting jasmine and narcissus and the drydown, although very sweet, is quite lovely. I am pleasantly surprised. I asked DSIs why she chose it and she said ‘it looked expensive ’ Grin. Good old capitalism and fashion-loving Sis!

OCSockOrphanage · 28/03/2018 17:57

It was the kind thing to do! You got your bid in fast, Blue!

Second SoTD is the Orchid Vanilla from Floral Street. Not normally the sort of thing that would leap into my hands, but it's rather lovely, at least for the 30 minutes I've had it on so far, and it's spilling sillage up from my wrists. Starting to be fairly positive on this brand; hope they do well.

mrsreynolds · 28/03/2018 18:09

Lemon is powdery you say!!??....😁

I've almost bought that star wars sample set...

Almost...

UnnecessaryFennel · 28/03/2018 18:11

Blimey that thread! Shock Agree the thought of those classics getting chucked makes me want to weep - I hope she pops in here before ebaying them!

So I gave myself the eeeniest weeniest dab of Plum before I left the office (I keep the free sample in my desk drawer) and I really do like it despite it being a white-flower sillage monster! So unlike my usual faves but it is lovely. Fancy if you want a decant just shout.

UnnecessaryFennel · 28/03/2018 18:13

Perhaps we should offer to buy all those unwanted perfumes from a LFPT kitty and then do splits for us all Wink

teta · 28/03/2018 18:15

CountFosco do you not pick up any Ambergris in the Lentisque? I love this for the sensually salty skin effect of the musk and Ambergris.
Coupled with Galbanum those are my two favourite notes.

LibertyBlue · 28/03/2018 18:27

Fennel that is SUCH a good plan! How would we facilitate this? I love Poudre 19. LHB and interested in bottega Veneto but wouldn’t be able to afford them all!

ISpentTheDayInBed · 28/03/2018 18:28

I am feeling very envious of all of you who are enjoying the Mary Greenwell lemon and others. I was hoping to grab a perfume bargain and managed to try them in The Fragrance Shop. They all smell like old lady on me :(

MrsGruber · 28/03/2018 18:38

But old ladies tend to smell really good?

UnnecessaryFennel · 28/03/2018 18:41

I've tried to tempt her over here liberty - failing that might pm her Grin

My no-buy resolution is going BRILLIANTLY as you can tell!

MrsGruber · 28/03/2018 18:43

Yes, yes to the group purchase and split Grin.

Happy Birthday Fancy.

May the force be with you MrsR. Lemon: on my skin it's more mossy than powdery. Defo in the style of an old school chypre.

No, but it's not a note I'm particularly familiar with. I did prefer the drydown to the start (although I liked both) so I shall have to try again and see if I can identify it because from the descriptions I suspect I'd like it.

But I'm now smelling of MG with Lemon on one wrist and Fire on the other sad perfume addict. They came in the most enormous box - you could have fitted a pair of shoes in there! And people aren't joking when they say how heavy the stopper is. I bought 50ml and the stopper is heavier than the full bottle.

UnnecessaryFennel · 28/03/2018 19:01

@violetwillow - just got home to your lovely parcel, thank you! Have never tried anything from either Mancera or PellWall so am very excited to try both Smile

mrsreynolds · 28/03/2018 19:13

Oh...mossy too!
sits on hands

UnnecessaryFennel · 28/03/2018 19:16

Yes, you could do some serious damage with those MG stoppers count!
