You probably know the drill by now - come and join us and to talk about perfume. We're friendly and smell lovely.

Fennel, ooh lots of lovely samples! And you’re right about the Mary Greenwells - they do take up a lot of room. Judy, I love your “shelf of wealth” and you have lots of room for more!

auberginesrus · 24/03/2018 21:21

I have shelf of wealth envy!

VioletWillow · 24/03/2018 21:29

I definitely have shelf of wealth envy too. I may be considering visiting Amazon for a bookcase now... 😀

thiskittenbarks · 24/03/2018 22:05

Thanks for the warm welcome!
I love the dedication of keeping them in their boxes- I'm far too lazy for that.

@Judydreamsofhorses I LOVE kiehls musk - my all time favourite I think. Smells so different on everyone and I just love it! Today I wore Tom Ford tobacco vanille. DPs friend came over and exclaimed at how amazing I smelled.
I just love vanillas but there are so many terrible ones out there! I think I spent most of my teens smelling like a cupcake!

LibertyBlue · 24/03/2018 22:20

Judy your shelf of wealth is a thing of beauty (swoon)

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 24/03/2018 22:47

I too have shelf of wealth envy!! far more upmarket than my shelf!!!

Currently scentless (the horror!) as I can't decide on something to put on

I noticed in boots the other day they had Dolce&Gabbana Pour Femme and the small refillable bottles of Alien on the clearance shelf, does anyone have any strong opinions on them either way? thinking of going back for at least one of them next week if not both!

Judydreamsofhorses · 24/03/2018 22:58

Thanks for the SOW love - it’s actually part of the built-in wardrobe thing, which we allegedly share, but in fact a lot of DP’s clothes are in the spare room. Ahem. I don’t think you can see a lot of what’s there, the Heeleys are Cardinal, Sel Marin, and Hippie Rose, and Bella Freud 1970 and L’ADR are tucked away behind other things too.

thiskitten the musk is so under-rated, I think. I love TV, and had a full bottle a few years ago, but actually sold it because it made me really headachey.

thiskittenbarks · 24/03/2018 23:33

Here is my (now looking very small) shelf. I try to keep it within the little tray thing or I find they go off before I can use them! Although I have a few others stashed around the house / handbags/ my desk.
Latest addition is that new Jo Malone grain one - a gift. No idea what it's like - any opinions? I'm not a big JM fan usually.
Yes Judy kiehls is just wonderful! Tom Ford TV is just so dreamy! But also a bit headachey I agree.
Hopefully spring will arrive at some point as I feel like I've been wearing wintery smells for as long as I can remember!

Sunshine!
I see Sunshine!
Ohhhhh
Might have to wear one of my lighter scents today...

auberginesrus · 25/03/2018 09:05

Is that the Green Wheat and Meadowsweet JM kitten? I had a generous spritz in the shop (pushy assistant Hmm) and luckily thought it was lovely. I balk at their prices but would quite happily receive one as a present - lucky you!

MrsGruber · 25/03/2018 10:15

Blue skies outside - quite a contrast to last Sunday when our road was impassable due to overnight snow.

To celebrate I've had a rummage in the samples box and am in Mito (Vero Profumo) (a lemony green wonder from the LT Bloom sample set) and Eat Flowers (zingy floral from 4160s).

It's glorious here but clearly won't last as I have hung some washing out.

I'm trying Coeur de Jardin from the MH discovery set. Not for me at all. Would scrub but am going swimming shortly so that will hopefully sort it out 😁

Am finding their stuff more miss than hit that's for sure, although Etui Noir is lovely

UnnecessaryFennel · 25/03/2018 10:56

Morning all. Grey and miserable here. SOTD is Une Rose Chypree for my dad's 70th birthday lunch.

LibertyBlue · 25/03/2018 11:25

More beautiful perfume collections!

I succumbed to the Mary Greenwell perfumes because I got such a good deal.... a FB of Plum, purse spray of Lemon plus a Plum solid perfume (in glorious packaging) for only £26 delivered! I used the PERFUME15 code to get an extra 15% off. They also promise to send 3 samples. That’s a lot of good quality perfume for £26. Worth the risk as I can EBay if I don’t like it.

LibertyBlue · 25/03/2018 11:26

Enjoy the birthday lunch Fennel

positivepineapple · 25/03/2018 11:33

Morning Fragrant ones, hope everyone has remembered to put their clocks forward.

Gorgeous day here as well, I'm actually sat in the kitchen with the patio doors open - partly because we've had a persistent heron in the garden the past few days after our fish! Hoping that the dogs will clock him and bark him away.

Floofy more than happy to send you a sample of the mysterious Arrogant Cat, please pm me your address.

Pest It's the Arrogant Cat Dusk that I went for, I'm always more attracted to perfumes which claim they are "evening" scents. Personally I wear them all whenever I feel like and never stick to the rules 🙈 would you like a sample? Please pm me your address if so.

Anyone else interested in a sample? I'll get decanting today and posting Tuesday hopefully

Hope you had a lovely birthday Ollivander? That cake in a jar looked amazing! I would much rather a cream/jam cake than chocolate. Did you get any fragrant birthday treats?

SOTD (at the moment) one arm is the Big Sniff Vince Camuto Amore which started as a pm but has dried down quite pleasant.
The other is last weeks big sniff Rouge Passion which I decanted into an atomiser finally - it reminds me of kids make up, the smell of those little plastic compacts with garish shades of pink lipgloss.

Browsing Cosmo this morning and they rate what they term "Playful perfume" the awful bottles all discussed recently - Caroline Herrera, Map of the heart and Moschino Fresh couture Hmm

BigPuddleOfFloofyCatOnTheFloor · 25/03/2018 12:00

Good morning scented friends, a gorgeous sunny day here. SOTD is therefore Neroli Portofino (I will put the Big Sniff on after my shower Smile) and I am lying in bed in yet another new negligee, with the window open, a big jug of beautiful roses on the windowsill, and a huuuuge vanilla slice from the bakery waiting to be eaten

Pineapple I will PM you, thanks so much, what can I send you in return? Have you got the Mary Greenwells as I have new bottles and happy to decant? I don't have Cherry though.

Olli I didn't even think it was your birthday, I just thought CAKE! who needs a reason Blush Happy belated Birthday!

Loving the Shelf of Wealth pictures (and the name!) I'm thinking of quietly appropriating a shelf in DH's side of the wardrobe now for mine (stealth shelf of wealth?! Grin) It's fun looking and trying to identify the bottles.

Talking of bottles, did anyone see this article? Is it just me, or does the Grace Coddington one remind anyone of the Katy Perry cat bottles? Grin

pestilentialboundary · 25/03/2018 12:17

Am I the only one wearing the big sniff?
I now have to go out smelling PINK [pink emoji]

teta · 25/03/2018 12:17

I’m also wearing Mito for a gorgeous sunny day and a netball match.
Floofy love your way with words.

pestilentialboundary · 25/03/2018 13:27

Pineapple I would love some. Have PMed you. Thanks

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 25/03/2018 13:32

for those who don't know about it. cocosa, which is a designer outlet type website, is often very good for picking up cheap, or cheaper perfumes. You tend to have to wait a while for them to be delivered as they usually come from the USA but the wait is worthwhile! I just picked up the Guerlains Rosa Pop! for £28!! it'll be a month or so until it arrives but at that price i'm not grumbling. they currently have some amourage and creed scents in one of their sales as well, still out of my price range but for those with a bit more to spend, might be worth a look Smile

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 25/03/2018 13:33

oh, and i don't work for them or anything like that, i stumbled on the website on a hunt for something a year or two ago and liked the prices for stuff so thats why i'm saying about them!

pestilentialboundary · 25/03/2018 13:59

Pineapple I have ordered some dawn Grin, and some MG Fire and some solid Plum (the packaging is gonna be fun to play with).

Floof you sound like you are beginning to channel Barbra Cartland, carefully does it.

My shelf is more like the shelf of shame and gluttony Blush

CountFosco · 25/03/2018 14:03

Pest I'm in The Big Sniff (I admit I almost forgot about it!) but finding it very boring.

Had a look in my local Poundland and no Girl so if anyone still has some to spare can I have some please? I'm currently split between my 2 loves, I really want to buy some new shoes but they cost a fortune (I'm a complete shoe addict) and I could get so much perfume on my list of wants if I didn't buy the shoes. Decisions, decisions.

LibertyBlue · 25/03/2018 14:16

I’m in the Big Sniff Pest and enjoying it. Yes it’s boring but it’s familiar and comforting as it smells like something I wore in my yoof (can’t rhink what). I already own a bottle of this so it’s reminded me to reach for it more
