Finally an empty: John Frieda Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery hair conditioner. I like what it does, but not the smell. Seemed a bit like men's cologne or something. Not sure if want to repurchase.

I have started "no sugar no buy" October. (Very nicely goes with that song "no woman no cry". Easy to remind myself.) I need to lose some weight and to save some money for Christmas. And I have started to put together my list of things to use up by Christmas. It is not so far away actually.

ememem84 · 02/10/2018 08:49

two Ive got my list of Christmas use ups.

  • clarins cleansing milk - about a quarter left in the bottle
  • benefit eye cream - a mini so will finish soon
  • bodyshop liquid eyeliner
  • eyeliner pencil
  • hit pan on another shade in my naked pallet
  • finish my soap and glory heel genius (have vowed to slather this on every day when I get home from work)
  • tommy girl perfume
ememem84 · 02/10/2018 09:00

Oh and a max factor smooth miracle primer. Not one id usually buy but Dm got it free when she bought dgrandma some stuff.

ememem84 · 02/10/2018 09:00

Bah. And aveeno moisturiser. This probably has about a third left.

DragonNoodleCake · 02/10/2018 12:00

@twoblackdogs and @CantChoose I'll join you in two million and two years and I'm pretty sure i will still have eye palettes and lipsticks to use.

/must stop buying makeup

PurpleNailVarnish · 02/10/2018 13:41
  1. Ameliorate nourishing body wash. I liked this, I'll buy it again when there's an offer on.

Sample used up REN ultra moisture day cream. This was good, I liked this too.

My MYOBAC is coming on a treat, aside from the advent calendar stuff I've gone a bit overboard on overhauling my makeup. Then I went to Body Shop and some stuff accidentally fell into my basket, so I had to buy it. The same happened in Superdrug and I bought myself new makeup brushes so I needed some cleaner for them, obviously.
So yes, September wasn't a frugal month.

Good that you're still getting use out of last years MYOBAC treeballarae.

I'm going to try to use up some lipsticks twoblackdogs and cantchoose if you've got any tips they'd be welcome, actually wearing them might help in my case Confused

How are you cantchoose?

Treeballarae · 02/10/2018 18:09

@PurpleNailVarnish good to hear your MYOBAC is coming along! I found the buying more fun that the opening in the end. Yes, still getting plenty use out of last year's selection - got 14 items out of the 25 still to use. Plus 4 items from my 2015 M&S beauty advent calendar.

I have gone for a 12 day MYOBAC this year, 12 days of masks (hair/face/feet/hands/lip masks) - BUT I've just seen Holland Barrett have their advent calendars on their website now as"Coming Soon", they have a 25 Day one and a 12 day one and I'm very tempted but I'm meant to be saving not spending.

I've had a lipstick sitting by my door for at least 6 months and I put some on before I go out (this was suggested to me by a PP), but it's not going down so two million and two years seems a realistic expectation here too Grin

NiceUnusualDifferent · 02/10/2018 18:23

So after a tough day at work I managed to break my no buy, no wine October and have ordered the lookfantastic advent while drinking a cold glass of Sauvignon 🙄

I’m looking forward to it as a really enjoyed the M&S one last year which was my first ever beauty advent.

mowglik · 02/10/2018 19:11

@experiment627 is that you kwick!! I used to post on these threads, I hadn’t realised it had been that long, really pleased to see your new littlie!! He’s gorgeous you must be so so pleased Grin

Back on topic I was thinking of which advent calendar to get this year and realised i still have loads of stuff from last years calender Blush will read back and see what everyone is up to and post my Xmas list

kwick GrinGrinGrin

SuzeD29 · 03/10/2018 06:13

Threw out a lipstick which I got in the look fantastic advent last year which just wasn't my colour. Used up a blistex relief lip cream.

This may be cheating but I've also been using things up on my children 😬😂 coconut shampoo and leave in conditioner gone. Didn't like the stuff at all but it was expensive so didn't want to throw it out. Need to start realising that even if something has cost pounds it's still not going to get me the money back just sitting on a shelf

CantChoose · 03/10/2018 21:20

@PurpleNailVarnish I'm well thanks, 21/40 and all was good at my scan :) I've not been around much as I've done too well with the stash and am mostly left with full size stuff which takes ages to use up. Very tedious!

I finished the lipstick by having only one out and putting it on every day. I have one lipstick in the bathroom cupboard and one that I take out for top ups. Hardly ever remember top ups though. And it's stil taken forever to use up!

I have done so well with the stash that I had to order shampoo, conditioner and a styling product as there is nothing in the stash for those! However... the order came with a free beauty gift. I'm quite impressed with it but it hasn't helped the stash! My main stash problem areas are hand cream and make up so at least it didn't have those in it!!

PurpleNailVarnish · 03/10/2018 23:03

Oh that is lovely news cantchoose, did you get pics?
I'm not sure I've got this right but 21/40 means miniCC is due somewhere near Valentines?
Everyone I know with birthdays in early Feb are good people.

That's an excellent stash-gift too, it's got Redken for starters. Have you tried the Nuxe stuff yet? If so, what is it like?

CantChoose · 03/10/2018 23:41

No, I’m growing an exceptionally uncooperative baby, no proper pic from either scan! Was there for hours both times jiggling him around so they could see what they needed! All looks good and heathy though so I can’t complain really. You’re right, due date 12th Feb.
I haven’t tried any of it yet but will remember to report back on the Nuxe :)

Experiment627 · 04/10/2018 03:35

@mowglik how are you darling? tis I Kwick!!!!

Am just multitasking- pumping and catching up on MN

@CantChoose great news on scan!!!

My hands are so sore so I am currently using up a lot of cream! Hopefully will get some empties soon.

@SuzeD29 was that the Illamasqua lippy? Does not suit me either but I have not been brave enough to chuck out.

Been a while since I had sn empty but

  1. Clinique black honey lip and cheek oil

This is a great product. I bought it about 3 years ago to go on holiday s I don't know if they still do it. I love the colour and it was a great texture and very versatile. I bought a pink one a while later but the texture was very different and I barely used it.

Reason I had this one so long is firstkybi lost it and redound it and secondly it goes a very long way.

SuzeD29 · 04/10/2018 06:16

Yes @experiment627 I tried it so many times and wanted to love it but it just didn't look right and I'd always end up wiping it off and putting on a different one so in the bin it went

ememem84 · 04/10/2018 12:34

EMpty. Clarins gentle exfoliating toner. Full size.

Am also wearing rose gold ish metallic glittery eyeshadow today #glitterface

#justbloodywearit

I’ve been told that my make up game is strong today. Hahahaha!!!

PurpleNailVarnish · 04/10/2018 22:29

Always with the glamour ememem84 Wink

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/10/2018 14:09

I'm doing a MYOBAC for DD , got a couple of Burts Bees product today (one she's been hinting for , one she'll be surprised by)

I'm aiming to keep around £4-5 per item, some are coming in well under so I can have a Burts Splurge Xmas Grin

ememem84 · 05/10/2018 15:13

I was given £20 to spend in the body shop for my birthday.

What to buy....

ememem84 · 06/10/2018 11:00

My aveeno moisturiser is almost gone. One more day I reckon.

New eyeshadow pallet arrived this morning - urban decay born to run. It’s a beaut. Will have a play later.

I’ve challenged myself to add one new thing to my make up routine every couple of weeks until I’m consistently using things up.

Today I have added lipstick. A couple of weeks ago I added eyebrow pencil (I had one never used it but it does make a bit of a difference).

I’m also putting the heel genius on every time I wear socks. So slathered that on this morning.

ememem84 · 06/10/2018 11:01

Oh and my stubby little eyeliner pencil snapped. So it’s been binned. on to the next one which will be a navy blue body shop one. I don’t like this half as much as the Dior kohl one. But use it up!!!!!

ememem84 · 07/10/2018 14:22

I thought I should add in the things I was given for my birthday.

Dparents gave me some jo Malone goodies. And fil and his partner today gave me a joules gift set. Very floral.

NiceUnusualDifferent · 07/10/2018 18:48

Happy birthday Ememem

Had a pamper afternoon, used up a mini Oskia Renaissance mask, enjoyed this, had maybe 4/5 uses out of it, have another mini to use.

I opened a Mio liquid yoga, hadn’t tried it before and love it now, the most relaxing bath soak I’ve ever tried 😊

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 08/10/2018 13:39

Hello lovely peeps. Been awol for awhile (as used up loads, then rubbish!)

Congrats Kwick. Gorgeous boy. Such happy news. Been thinking of you!

I’ve succumbed to body shop advent calendar and feel a little foolish as really don’t need more but guess I have 2 months to use stuff up to justify!
I’m having a stressful time at work and so my itchy buying finger is back! There was a few free with >£25 at body shop so more shower gel has joined the stash!

Have used up a Korean face wash and body shop mini of Xmas peppermint and I will def be buying that come Dec! And like look of drunk elephant..... no hope!
