@ememem84 That's excellent service from Lookfantastic. We've moved now but we used to live near the UK head office of a small but popular (on here) clothing business, it was oddly situated in the small town/large village. They would let you ring them with an order and go there to try things on or similarly drop it round on their way home. It was a right result. I'm not sure I could walk past a Lookfantastic every day so I admire your restraint.
Anyhow, I have a list for the week. As usual it's long because I've got lots of samples. There are still lots of half empty bottles left around from the DDs while they go off to spend their summer with boyfriends/travelling/going to festivals and generally loafing about. They return periodically to sleep for 22 hours straight and leave their washing all over the floor, a mere foot or two away from the wash basket.
- Ameliorate transforming body lotion.
Love it, I've already bought more and it'll be my go-to when I've used up the other stuff I've got.
- Grow Gorgeous hair density shampoo and the conditioner.
I love the smell but they're a bit spendy given that neither seem to add density.
- Weleda arnica massage oil and Weleda wild rose massage oil, both 10ml.
These are good, I'll get some more to use at night when my skin feels particularly dry or dull.
- Body Shop peppermint foot spray.
I'd had this hanging around for a while and it's been lovely at night in this warm weather. I've never liked having hot feet at night (is that a weird thing? I'm not sure).
- Mauli grow strong hair oil.
It was nice enough but didn't add any volume to my hair or encourage it to grow any more.
- Caudalie premier Cruz la creme sample and Caudalie Vinosource sos thirst quenching serum.
I loved the cream, Caudalie works well on my skin and I would buy this. The serum was as good as any I've tried but my search for the 'right' serum continues.
- L'Oréal long hair treatment mask.
It's good but I prefer their coconut mask so I've bought that instead.
- This Works Sleep Body oil
It didn't help me fall asleep and I wasn't fussed with it as a body oil, I preferred the Weleda.
- Skin Owl lavender beauty drops.
I liked them and they improve my skin but I think they're better in winter when my skin is drier.
- Malin & Goetz peppermint shampoo sample.
Nice and refreshing but I'm not sure I'd buy it because it's spendy and didn't wow me.
- Wella invigo nutri enrich nourishing mask sample.
This was ok but I prefer the L'Oréal hair masks.
- REN glycolactic radiance renewal mask sample
A good mask but I like Rodial vitamin C better.
- Collistar tallaso scrub sample
Cor, this stuff takes no prisoners. Thick exfoliating grains and a strong smell but it certainly exfoliated my skin and afterwards my fake tan went on well. I'd buy a full size.
- This Works Sleep+ hair elixir
The fundamental problem with calling your product range 'This Works' is that it's a direct challenge to arseholes like me. No, this doesn't work to help me get to sleep (though their pillow spray does work for me) and no, it didn't work to make my hair look better overnight. In fact, it was quite drying on my hair and I woke up every morning I used it looking like an overwrought Medusa.
- Algenist advanced anti aging repair oil sample.
Soaked in well overnight and my skin looked good in the morning. The thing is, when anything says 'anti aging' I expect to wake up looking like I did 20 or 30 years ago, so as a concept I'm always going to feel disappointed. Still it was good enough despite the lack of Back To The Future effects and I would probably buy it again though I don't really want to put oil on my face in this heat.
