WWW's six week 10 year younger boot camp, WEEK SIX already.

WideWebWitch · 07/05/2007 09:33

This is week 6 of the third boot camp of 2007, everyone is welcome.

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage

Well done on 5lbs Winnie! Brilliant!
FIS, thank goodness you got some sleep, it's very tough coping with anything when you're knackered isn't it?

I drank lots of wine and ate more rare roast beefo and horseradish and ate dark chocolate but it was a lovely evening

Today have had a bacon sandwich and 2 pieces of toast, oops. But it's perfect (for me) walking weather, fairly grey and drizzly so I will walk later.

Btw, there's a huge piece on wanting to look younger in The Observer today, will see if I can find it online.

WideWebWitch · 13/05/2007 10:12

here you go I haven't read it yet though.

I. like our leader WWW, have been soiled by wheat and pork products and dairy this weeked.

back to the museli and juice tomorrow, honest

Is not a bacon sandwich one of life's greatest pleasures? (free ranger bacon, natch)

foxinsocks · 13/05/2007 11:13

oh batters, mine are pestering me to go on Club Penguin too!

WideWebWitch · 13/05/2007 11:46

I have refused to let ds look at Club Penguin, the PC's MINE and the laptop's dh's.

Batters, drool at your food yesterday, yum. And SW, soiled, yes, that covers it I reckon.

A bacon sandwich is one of life's great pleasures, I agree.

Well done Winnie! A new summer wardrobe will be a necssity soon.

FIS - glad you had a good night. Am having troubled nights at the moment for no good reason and it makes me so miserable. Been to gym and did Day 3 of the running. Still enjoying it but now have to increase to 3 min running and 2 min walking. Slightly daunting.

DH and I bickering constantly today and the children are being beyond horrible.

Oh batters 'A Thing That a Skinny Person Does' is something I try to get my head around often. No 1 on my list is having a small piece of cake etc and that becomes lunch/dinner etc where as a greedy person (i.e me) would have the cake and lunch! I often think if I could think like a skinny person it would be easy...but I don't and that is why I am not skinny

I've had another good day and until I spoke to h 30 minutes ago I felt good

Despite the pouring rain I went for a long walk which was over 9000 steps and made me feel fab. It was noticable that everyone else out in the rain had a dog with them! Have actually done 12000 steps in total today.

Didn't wear sunscreen as it was pouring down.
1 glass of wine this evening (following run in with h)
lots of water
creamed
will be in bed early
ate healthily (made a huge, delicious low fat veggie moussaka which felt sinful but wasn't... well, if one doesn't dwell on the use of frylight)
Have been happy, happy, happy

winnie · 13/05/2007 20:40

Yoyo, a new wardrobe is needed but I keep thinking oh wait until you've dropped another size which means I am walking around in clothes that are far too big for me, don't do me any favours and frankly look ridiculous
Anyway, I hope your day got better and the bickering stopped.

Sobernow, enjy the buzz ... you deserve it

WWW, did you read in The Observer that the benefits of wheatgrass shots is a myth? Read it and thought of you

WideWebWitch · 13/05/2007 21:00

Sobernow, wow, impressed at the work thing, well done! And how back down to earth with a bump wrt 'have masses of housework to catch up on' don't you have people to do that for you?

Yoyo, I hope your day improved, sorry you're having trouble sleeping, that's horrible.

Ooh, yes, we should make a list of Things a Skinny Person does, absolutely! Well done on the salad without dressing ordering Batters.

Winnie, that sounds like a good day, ex notwithstanding. 12,000 steps is v v good. I walked in the rain today too and I only saw 2 people but yes, they had dogs with them, you're right.

I did bloody well read that about wheatgrass shots AND there was a photo in bottom rh corner of goji berries, grrrr. Oh well, I will finish the wheatgrass and berries and see what I think.

Batters, how are you getting on with the no7 serum? What do you reckon? Worth queuing to get some or wot?

Rubbish day food wise:

bacon sandwich, with butter and white bread
2 pieces white bread toast with butter and Marmite
2 open rare roast beef sandwiches which means the same amount of bread as a normal sandwich but double the beef. Had butter on them too. And horseradish
100g of lentils (don't know why I bothered weighing them, I didn't weigh the butter/bread/beef/fairy bloody cake) with chilli sauce
a fairy cake
some raspberries
a few goji berries
a wheatgrass shot
a perfect skin vitamin tablet

BUT I did put my Moron on and walk in the rain and I've done 9,700 steps, 8,500 of them aerobic, so I am v pleased with that. Only burned a measly 359 cals though, not enough to make up for excessive eating today. Oh well, it was a gorgeous walk, everything was very lush and verdant, very pleasurable indeed. Used sunscreen too.

I then tried to do the yoga for dummies with the children but gave up on the second pose as dd kept standing in front of the tv and ds kept asking if he was going it right. I may try again tomorrow.

Plenty of water and am about to go to bed as I am knackered.

I'll start a new thread tomorrow. Omg, that will be week 1 of the FOURTH 10yy of the year, blimey.

yoyo · 13/05/2007 21:18

Skinny Minnie was having lunch in the v posh Tresanton Hotel in St Mawes. We were all having v. large and v. expensive clotted cream ice cream. She had a salad (leaves only natch) with lemon slices on the side. She then asked the waitress if she could possibly have some Cos lettuce "on the side"!! Just not worth it. Ever.

WideWebWitch · 13/05/2007 21:20

Oh tell me what it's like Yoyo, I've drooled over that site.

I remember reading the chef at Kensington Place saying how irritated he was that Princess Diana would order a water and a salad and then only toy with the salad. I don't TOY with my food, I'm not a cat, I just eat it. Fast. Oooooooh...
