AitchTwoOh · 05/05/2007 14:01

apart from teh mini, perhaps... thread moving fast.

thedogsbollox · 05/05/2007 14:02

Mini skirt very questionable, I agree SD.

Shorts okay though.

Linen trousers good.

Katfan atop cutoff white trews a good look too (especially if they throw in day time tours).

A fat face hat doesn't sounds quite right either.

No combats either

AitchTwoOh · 05/05/2007 14:02

he does do nice floaty things though, sd, it's just that the hoorish stuff gets photographed more.

noddyholder · 05/05/2007 14:03

I'd say not black.

Tutter · 05/05/2007 14:09

i've been looking for a sun hat like this for ages

(though perhaps a bit too surf for your purposes)

SoupDragon · 05/05/2007 14:10

Nice shorts.

MrsBadger · 05/05/2007 14:10

tutter's kaftan recommendation is lovely
and good colours for the fish (muted summer, yes?)

if kayaking etc you may need board shorts or similar to wear over bikini bottoms to prevent chafeage
and if going all-out sporty and you have the bod, the best coverup is a performance rash vest - v good for preventing sunburn on back whilst snorkelling. Ditch once out the water and replace with lineny kaftan thing.

So you are looking for a beach bag and evening wear and shorts?

Can you describe the black dress?

SoupDragon · 05/05/2007 14:11

hat?

paulaplumpbottom · 05/05/2007 14:11

I used to live in Houston so let me help you out.

You do not need big hair, you do need hair that looks like it has just walked out of a salon. I'm sure you hotel will have one, I would go everyother day.

Think laid back Ralph Lauren for clothes. You want to look relaxred but polished. Looking polished is the key here.

Square nails are not required but tidy well polished nails are. Don't forget your toes and go see your chiropodist before yougo.

You'll want a good straw bag, Jigsaw has one that is perfect.

Splurge on Chanel sunglasses

Get a bleaching kit for your teeth. The appearance of your teeth will be very important.

No stubbly legs or underarms

When in doubt just remember tidy and polished
