Morning
I have one dc off due to school closure and one not
Which is odd as the schools are next to each other 😩
So glad you like sexiest scent...its amazing isn't it? ❤
Although I like all the others you mentioned too
I am NOT going to order any 4610s this month...
Nope

mrsreynolds · 01/03/2018 08:58

Sotd next cashmere
Ds2 loves it 😁
It's an EL sensuous nude dupe apparently but I think the next one is much nicer for £8 😁

auberginesrus · 01/03/2018 09:25

Thanks for the tip Pest we have a local branch so will try and pop down at the weekend.

No SOTD yet, a fair bit of white stuff here - both ds's schools closed and I'm still in pjs doing a bit of work from home. About to walk to asda for a few essentials so will need something to suit the bracing air Grin

Tried Eau du Sud last night - VERY citrussy and long lasting, veered between sherbet lemons and CIF on me. Definitely prefer the Margaret Greenwell.

wheresmyphone · 01/03/2018 09:42

Hello Scenty people. New to thus thread. Quick question if I may.....in years gone by unused to wear Red, (it was Giorgio Armani I think). Definitely called Red. Now discontinued.,Anyone know if anything similar....it was a long time ago and probably before most MNers were born 😳

mrsreynolds · 01/03/2018 09:58

Hi
If you Google it it seems red by Giorgio is still readily available from places like fragrance direct...

SoFancy · 01/03/2018 10:02

Hope your finger ulcer thingie gets better, Floofy - sounds horrendous.

I'd forgotten about Sensuous Nude, mrsr. I love that perfume, think I still have a miniature of it somewhere. Never tried the Next Cashmere, but sounds good.

I woke up nervous today after my Poison Extrait-induced headache last night, so have gone for cosy, peachy safety with Burberry for Women. Chucking it down with snow here. No school closures, though, and DD is in her school play tonight. Eek.

UnnecessaryFennel · 01/03/2018 10:13

Red Giorgio - bargain!

Papillon again this morning. Have Dryad on my right wrist and Angelique on my left. Dryad starts with those lovely, familiar oakmoss-and-galbanum notes, and then becomes very sagey. I like the smell of sage, but I don't know if I want to smell of sage, iykwim? However, I've only had it on for about 45 mins so it may change. Angelique is very soft and pretty; on me there's quite a 'ripe mango' note - is that mimosa? Its quite buttery.

mrsreynolds · 01/03/2018 10:16

Fancy
Next cashmere is much nicer imo than sensuous nude
It's £14 for 100mls
£8 for 30mls
I think I got one on e bay for £4...
Dooooo iiiiiitttttt 😁

UnnecessaryFennel · 01/03/2018 10:21

Allbeauty.com appears to have quite a lot of Guerlain going begging at the moment. I know it's not vintage stuff but... #publicserviceannouncement

I'm not buying though. I have started a 'perfume expenditure' spreadsheet Blush

Riverside2 · 01/03/2018 10:23

hello
new here

is there a cheaper something similar to Opium please?

mrsreynolds · 01/03/2018 10:25

Try perfume parlour opium
It's £8 for 30mls
It's a dead ringer
I will never buy ysl opium again!!

Calmwhoknows · 01/03/2018 10:26

wheresmyphone, besides the Giorgio Red, there is also Emporio Armani Red Pour Elle (White) mentioned on Fragrantica.com. It is long discontinued, but it’s available on Ebay, mostly for mega money 😢. If you find the perfume on Fragrantica, on the left hand side it will give you suggestions of other perfumes you might like. Also you can search by notes on there, so you feed in all the notes you particularly like, say, the musk, ginger and woods from the Red and it will give you a list of other perfumes with those notes.

mrsreynolds · 01/03/2018 10:26

Or if you are after something that's like opium then I would suggest tabu or cinnabar

BluebellGal · 01/03/2018 10:36

Wow kittens great tip off. 75ml of EDP Mitsouko for £45. Bargain!

UnnecessaryFennel · 01/03/2018 10:39

Ahhh, wrong Giorgio! Sorry phone - see, calm always knows Grin

UnnecessaryFennel · 01/03/2018 10:43

I'm assuming it's because everything's supposed to be moving to the Guerlain bee bottles?

I do love that Shalimar bottle, it will be a shame if it goes.

MrsGruber · 01/03/2018 11:35

Scent-free so far in the hope the Postie a) makes it up the hill and b) brings something interesting from my recent ebay adventures

BluebellGal · 01/03/2018 11:40

Yep that sounds about right kittens. Not at work today- terrible cold/ cough and headache. Still working on a report though, as I’ll get behind otherwise Hmm

A comforting SOTD inspired by you guys 4160 Creamy Vanilla Crumble. That’s it now. I need a new bottle.

Snow update: very light here (South) looks like icing sugar (or a less romantic image: like dandruff Grin). It’s bloody cold and I think it’s wise I’ve stayed indoors being ill. Just feel so awful for all the homeless people I saw sitting out in it yesterday- so many of them at dusk, but Im guessing they don’t want to go into the emergency shelters (saw people trying to convince them to go). A terrible choice to make, literally life and death for them right now, there must be a good reason why they don’t want to. I give to local and national homeless charities through my salary rather than give change, but I don’t know what else to do to help them at times like this Sad

mrsreynolds · 01/03/2018 11:45

-5 and snow flurries here
I'm still in pjs 😁👍

Riverside2 · 01/03/2018 11:48

thanks mrsreynolds I will try that

UnnecessaryFennel · 01/03/2018 11:54

It's stopped snowing here now. Think we might get some more later though - the sky looks quite full of it. I was reading a tweet this morning from a homeless charity who said they had made over 100 beds available but every homeless person they'd approached had declined to take a bed. Must have had some appalling previous experiences; I cannot imagine.

Feel very lucky to be warm at home, and slightly embarrassed that my most pressing dilemma today is what perfume to wear.

UnnecessaryFennel · 01/03/2018 11:56

That was in reply to your post bluebell, sorry!

CVC is a fab choice for today (You may polish your enabler badge btw - I have just ordered a second 9ml, rude not to with that discount!)

LibertyBlue · 01/03/2018 12:24

Heartbreaking Kittens (yes it’s blue)

Glad to be of service. I’m about to order my first Big Bottle from 4160!

mrsreynolds · 01/03/2018 12:55

Ds2 (9) just smelt my neck and told me that my perfume (next cashmere) "makes his nose hungry"

LibertyBlue · 01/03/2018 13:06

mrsreynolds that’s sweet- Ds2 creative/ likes science? Sounds like he could be a nose in the making!

My toddler has taken to smelling my wrists and says things like ‘not nice’ ‘hmm’ or giggles. Little perfumista in the making methinks. Of course she likes all the sweeter, vanilla ones. Your DS sounds very sophisticated in his appreciation of musk!
