you do realise I am acting this out to remember and my colleague is now thinking I am insane?

basic was:
lie garment face down on table
fold in sides
fold down sleeves parallel with sides
fold bottom hem up towrads neckline
turn over with flourish

various variants to ensure eg print of tshirt was visible when folded, long things didn't hang off back of shelves etc

special folds for eg ghastly quilted jackets, XXL trousers etc

we had tables [smug]

some inferior staff used square cardboard cutouts on a table fgs

Ours was Benneton or Shelleys (shoe shop in London) I remember persuading my mum to go on a shopping trip to Lonfon and spending some of my precious birthday money in there when I was 14 on the most uncomfortable shoes just so I could have the flippin bag

When I worked in River Island, kids used to come in and ask for the carrier bags. We weren't allowed to just give them out!
