RustyBear - No, but Epsom/Reigate were my nearest towns.

RustyBear · 03/05/2007 21:52

My DCs were both born in Epsom

NuttyMuffins · 03/05/2007 21:53

Can't remember the coolest one but can remember that no one wanted a Hitchens one.

Nikki76 · 03/05/2007 21:55

Had to be Next....my sis rebelled and took an Asda carrier bag only to be pelted with wet, wadded paper towels with drawing pins stuck in......they were a bunch of blardy snobs at my school!!

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 03/05/2007 22:28

Rusty - in Epsom District Hosp? I had my wisdom teeth out there - it was horrid! I had it done with just a local anaesthetic and they didn't give me any cotton wool to soak up the blood AND the nurse I needed to make another appointment with kept me waiting for ages. I dripped blood all over the place and went home looking like an extra from a Hammer House of Horror film. Hope you had a better time!

All this from a bag!

Blondilocks · 03/05/2007 22:31

I really can't remember people taking much notice..

Now I always make sure I take my lunch to work in a Waitrose or M&S bag - the fridge is full of Tesco & Asda bags so mine makes it easier to spot

mosschops30 · 03/05/2007 22:41

Never took carrier bags but normal bags were either Bennetton, those awful jelly bags (which are now coming back in argh!) or carpet bags

Nikki76 · 03/05/2007 22:41

Jelly bags!!! Oooh anyone remember the Jelly shoes???

pickledpear · 03/05/2007 22:42

we used to turn ours inside out so you could not read chelsea girl etc on them

After my arm ysurplus bag I used to carrya round a sort of wicker picnic baslet but smaller. Was that the fashion once?
And a jelly bag. But you had to put all your stuff inside a plastic bag inside the jelly bag so as not to lose it.
And a denim rucksack that i sewed badges onto and grolsch tops!

hatwoman · 03/05/2007 22:44

I think jelly shoes have a lot to do woith my utter inability to warm to crocs.

pickledpear · 03/05/2007 22:45

yes we had jelly bags and bennetton was posh but the best bags were either the suitcase or the picnic baskets ones these were obviously smaller versions

hatwoman · 03/05/2007 22:45

grolsch tops! i used to attach them to my shoes.

hatwoman · 03/05/2007 22:46

not my jelly shoes, I hasten to add

DeviousDaffodil · 03/05/2007 22:46

Snap pear and hatwoman!

hatwoman · 03/05/2007 22:47

good to know it wasn;t just me...

Whoooosh · 03/05/2007 22:47

Maybe showing my age here or even the fact I grew up on the South Coast but the coolest bag for a while was "The Big Snob" Bag.
Fabric and from a shop called SNOB-have no idea whether it was national or not.
