I really liked it and it's not bad value for pure silk. Nice for after work drinks with black skinny jeans.

Ordered that and the diamond t shirt in limestone with gold print. Reckon that colour way will go with everything for spring summer.

TheFormidableMrsC · 18/02/2018 19:41

No definitely not! I will have a look later when I've got time for a browse!

I am SO cross, just got outbid AGAIN on a pair of charcoal Amie's on e-bay. By a quid, in the last 3 seconds. So annoying. They are not stocking them again I don't think Sad

neveradullmoment99 · 18/02/2018 21:04

Mrs C Hush customer services are great. Why don't you try emailing them. You never know. You could ask if they intend to restock.

Yes I will do Never, they're out of stock in JL too. Clearly popular!

MmeGuillotine · 19/02/2018 09:35

Hello! Can I join in please as I just popped my Hush cherry after months of prevarication and have a question about harems! Smile

I have bought the star print Emmanuelle dress from the new collection (very excited about this!) and also the grey marl T shirt with silver stars (which I will be VERY carefully hand washing!) and it's occurred to me that some harem pants might make a good addition to my wardrobe. I never ever wear trousers usually but I work from home as a writer and it's started to increasingly seem like I would be MUCH more comfy in trousers. I'm not ready for anything too casual yet so thought they would be a good compromise?

I'm just after a tiny bit of advice about fit though - I'm 5' 3", 12-14 and quite chunky about the thighs after writing a book over the winter (seriously, nothing makes you pile on the pounds like writing books) so should I go for a medium or will that swamp me? Smile

(I'm possibly going to need an intervention at some point to stop me buying that swishy peach maxi skirt with stars on it. Soooooo pretty!)

TheFormidableMrsC · 19/02/2018 10:10

Hi MmeGuillotine. I can't tell you about the Hush harems as I know from looking they are not quite right for me. I am a size 14 but very slender legs, I prefer the Amie joggers which are a much closer fit and slim legged. I have them in navy, khaki and black. They are long though but the ankle zip is very flexible and I give mine a couple of rolls depending on what shoes I am wearing. I buy size M but I do think I could get away with a S if needs be. Could you buy both sizes via Paypal where you don't have to pay for a couple of weeks so that you can try them and send one back? I am sure that there are lots of harem wearers around who will jump on with advice about those!

Laska5772 · 19/02/2018 10:18

I love my hush harems but recently i thi k teir suzing is no longer consistent i thibk
My old ones are all the old S/M size but i recently bought the two pairs to replace v old ones. New Navy ones needed to be M and the olive ones i had to have S but actually they are both the same size .. Hmm

Laska5772 · 19/02/2018 10:20

Wearing lovely nana again today..I think its and my yellow vickie are my favourite Hush purchases ever!

Laska5772 · 19/02/2018 10:21

.....at least until the weather gets warmer anyway Grin

ilovecherries · 19/02/2018 11:53

Am in my Vickie and grey amies today. On a very cold train! Wishing I had nana and big love scarf!

MmeGuillotine · 19/02/2018 14:34

TheFormidableMrsC Hello! I hadn't considered the Amie style instead so will have a look! I have just realised that here's a Hush concession in our local JL so I might go and try them on there rather than order online, although that's not a bad idea to use the Pay in 14 Days thing (glad I'm not the only one who regards that as one of the greatest inventions ever! I was gutted when Zara stopped allowing it.)

Laska That sounds very annoying and confusing! It might be best if I go in and try them on instore then! I'm not used to wearing trousers and am really self conscious about my short little legs so need to really try them on, I think! Plus I don't have a full length mirror yet so that's also a factor!

Thanks for your help! I now have a plan! Will report back about the dress when it arrives! Grin

Talisin · 19/02/2018 19:29

Well I think my striped Marina will be going back tomorrow. It’s nice but not special enough to justify the price. Keeping the white tee with mini lightning bolt though - spent ages looking for a white tee in the right shape because I didn’t want to pay £30, should have just bitten the bullet and gotten it before.

miffy2 · 19/02/2018 20:34

OK so my order arrived. Keeping 3, returning 3 :)

Keeping:

the colourblock pleated skirt in blues/greens is just gorgeous. Quite generous in size in so far as I am currently closer to a 14. It looks a bit 'hippy' on me (as in my hips) but I am on a weight loss journey so I know it will be fine on me in a few weeks. Length wise it hits mid-calf and I am 5' 6.5". Looks lovely with a navy merino jumper from Uniqlo that I had to hand.

The Kensington shirt dress is also a keeper. Lovely on. I don't often have luck with shirt collars (on shirts or dresses) but this is good. The waist is elasticated but sits well on me as opposed to other Hush dresses where it is either too high or too low). Even when I lose weight it will be a good fit as I am generous up top. I got a 14.

I also like the longline vest and will keep it.

Going back:
Tabitha skirt. The underlay/slip is too short, it stops at the knee. The fit is not good on me (see hips above) and looks more A-line in shape. Pretty design, not as nice as on the site as colour is deeper and slightly more coral than pink.

Grey frill sleeve jersey tee. Too short and boxy. Shoulders too wide and I got a medium (and am quite broad-shouldered). Lovely thick material compared to other Hush Ts but not good enough for the price for me.

Finally, the Washed Love Sweat Top in Medium. I almost cried. So much shorter than in the photos. There is no way that model is 5' 7" and wearing an XS. I am shorter and the fit on me was along the lines of the C'est si Bon or Star biker Sweat. Not much longer at all. Loved the fabric, colour and design. Just not the size. Sleeves much shorter too. I don't know if Hush make their samples to photograph and then go on to mass-produce differently but I have experienced this so many times with their tops. I don't have a particularly long body either.

I am half tempted to get it in Large to see if it makes a difference as I really like it otherwise.

miffy2 · 19/02/2018 20:35

Sorry meant to say I got the blue/green skirt in a 12.

TheFormidableMrsC · 19/02/2018 20:51

Miffy I got the Love sweat in an XL. I am a 14 with 36DD boobs, it's the perfect length and sleeves are fine. I struggle too with Hush sweats and have never kept a single one I've bought. I suppose it depends on what sort of look you're going for. I like oversized sweats so it was perfect for me. I agree though that the model looks smaller and was wearing a bigger size despite description on the site. Somebody has written a review saying exactly that.

ilovecherries · 19/02/2018 21:24

My look-see parcel arrived today. A wee bit disappointing. Monaco trousers are half way up my shins, no use at all, and as above, the lemon love sweatshirt was about 3-4 inches shorter than I expected. Boxy tee just doesn't suit me - it just looks - well...boxy! I think my boobs might be too big for that style, they lift the fabric too far out. The vee neck linen jumpers are nice fit-wise, but the colours are just a bit too bright for me. The long sleeve round neck linen tees are much better wrt colour - those sugared almond colours are good for me. I got green and blush. If I thought they'd wash well, I'd keep them, but worried they will bag and twist. laska - did you say you'd had them before?

miffy2 · 19/02/2018 21:37

On a more positive note, especially for those of you in the UK with free returns etc, their new returns forms offer you the option of ordering a replacement item, and not just a refund. I know they did not offer this as standard before now.

MrsC thanks for that. I may end up ordering a L and XL as I want it reasonably sloppy but not too much. That way I can compare.

Anyone bought any of their belts before? I need a new black belt for jeans and I like the look of the leather eyelet belt.

cherries I hate the boxy-look T as well. Definitely not suited to large boobs unless very flowy (like the Adele knit from last year which was boxy but I loved it so much I got it in 3 colours!)

Laska5772 · 19/02/2018 21:48

Cherries if its the raw edge linen tops . Yes I have three now, yellow, blue and pale pink. They have all washed fine (at 30deg) . I was worried about the frayed edges fraying even more but they dont seem to have.. They are wide fitting though ( I bought L even though I was a bit slimmer than I am now!) and quite short.. I often wear the yellow and the blue ones with my black and white striped marina (sofia as it was ) skirt from last year. I like the pink one with my khaki pleated midi skirt ( go that from H&M I think last year) , and also with my olive harems

Theonlyoneiknow · 19/02/2018 22:03

Was so excited about the Drew dress but soooooo disappointed. Am gutted! It fits like a shapeless sack on me. Mwahhhhh as I love the print. Sob !

neveradullmoment99 · 19/02/2018 23:19

Miffy I have their eyelet belt from a couple of years ago. Its good quality.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 19/02/2018 23:28

Cherries I have also one of their linen tops and really like them. They also wash well. Mine has ripped under the arm though. No idea how. I am going to sew it though as I love it. The colours that are available this season are not great for me. Too washed out. I think the granite green may work for me but the others are all various shades of pink. I particularly dislike the bright pink one but it may be ok in RL.
Shame about the boxy tee. I have the rainbow stripe and really like it.Think I could have sized down though.

noodlezoodle · 20/02/2018 05:57

Thanks Miffy for the review. I'm really torn about the Tabitha skirt now! I would probably prefer a more coral colour but I need to decide whether the underskirt being shorter is a deal breaker or not.

That blue-green skirt does look beautiful, glad you like it.

jenster1976 · 20/02/2018 13:27

anyone any thoughts on the green marina dress? My brother is getting married on a farm in Wales in June and I thought it might be nice for that - just concerned that I'll look like a sack of spuds in it at 5'2" and an ample bosom!!

miffy2 · 20/02/2018 17:16

Crap, the eyelet belt is sold out now...which one of you bought it? LOL.

GinandGingerBeer · 20/02/2018 18:22

I’ve succumbed! Grin
I’ve ordered the colour block pleated skirt, blaming you miffy Wink I’m going away to San Sebastián with my ‘women’ friends (must not call them ‘girls’ on MN!) and I think it’ll be lovely for in the day time, hide my milk bottle legs and not worry about fake tan.
The black and white marina skirt, think I’ll get lots of use out of this. I have it in plain black and I always feel nice in it.
Also the cropped blue kick flare jeans. Should come tomorrow.
I’ve managed to let about half a stone creep on over winter and I want o shift it so I feel better in my summer stuff.
