Ha, just made another £700 on eBay selling my old plus size clothes. Rushes off to Hush...

Laska5772 · 18/03/2018 15:51

£700? cherries that's impressive..(as impressive as your weight loss) how many dd you have to sell?

Talisin · 18/03/2018 15:58

Anyone noticed anything going AWOL from the Hush site? I was looking for the cape sleeved top and it’s vanished, which led me to look for the cape sleeved dress which has also gone (although it’s still up at John Lewis). I’m pretty certain neither of them were remotely close to sold out so I’m wondering if there’s a sale about to happen and they’ve been withdrawn for that.

Nearlyadoctor · 18/03/2018 16:30

Cherries that's amazing - I'd be having a mega spend 😃😃

ilovecherries · 18/03/2018 17:31

I've no idea how many things I've listed overall, Laska, but have made around 1500 since October. I hate doing it, it's as boring as hell, and I seem to be a nutter-magnet into the bargain! But basically, nothing fits me from Spanx to shoes and I actually had a fair bit of decent quality and very lightly worn clothing. I don't bother listing anything from supermarkets or m&s but I had a lot of monsoon, Boden, poetry, wrap, etc plus lower end designer stuff from Navabi and Box2. Plus a lot of senior civil servant type clothing from my past career. I'm just about to move onto selling summer clothing and shoes, I anticipate I will be finished around May, (mainly as I can only do a few at a time, it bores me so much!) Then I have some L and XL stuff from Hush that I bought on the way down to list but that's more for the autumn. Despite my spending efforts (!?!), I actually have a pretty bare wardrobe now, but everything fits me, it all mixes and matches, and I love it all. Sometimes I open the doors just because it makes me smile. Everything for eventual sale has been decanted into plastic storage boxes, so my wardrobe can finally breath. And not a single thing in it was bought because it 'would do' i.e., it covered me and didn't make my eyes bleed. I think the ebay market for good quality plus size clothing is pretty strong - DD has asked me on occasion to list the odd thing of hers, but none of these have come anywhere near the plus size prices.

MrsPeacockDidIt · 19/03/2018 12:24

So my LOVE jumper arrived today. Ordered L and XL and there isn’t much difference in the sizing. I’m a large 16 on top. I wasn’t expecting the pink to be so pale. The jumper is a lovely weight though. I promised I’d join in with photos so here goes. Please be kind I’ve never taken outfit selfies before Grin

I'm not sure I love it enough for the price tag so i've ordered the rainbow one instead to arrive tomorrow !

Ellapaella · 19/03/2018 17:15

I like that MrsPeacock - it looks the same material as the rainbow jumper. I do like the pale pink on the grey, looks lovely.

Laska5772 · 19/03/2018 19:19

I like it also MrsPeacock cant see a huge difference between the sizes on your photos but both look great on you especially with your skin tone and hair colour..

We had snow! Quite a lot for here , IOW we usually dont get much at all , and its still on the ground but melting a bit now . I wore my Nana jumper to work again..Last week I was thinking I might had put it away for the season as I was back into Ivy dresses and looking at my wide tops again! !

Laska5772 · 19/03/2018 19:22

cherries when I lost a lot of weight a few years ago and sold plus size clothes i got good ebay prices also, i think there is definitely a market for good quality larger sizes ..

BUT I did find quite a lot of stuff also seemed to be selling to to men !! So I began to wonder why...? Hmm

MrsPeacockDidIt · 19/03/2018 19:38

I think the rainbow one is going to be more me. I’m usually all about the stars but fancied a changed.

ilovecherries · 19/03/2018 21:23

Yes, a lot of mine have been bought by men as well. And size 9 shoes flew out the door! Mrs Peacock, it looks lovely, though agree I can't see a size difference.

MrsPeacockDidIt · 20/03/2018 11:15

Another day, another hush delivery Grin

So I much prefer the rainbow jumper. I like the weight of the jumper and also that the rainbow is slightly muted colours. Again I bought the L and XL and there is NO difference. In fact the L has very slightly longer sleeves than the XL. I measured them on top of one another. It’s just odd.

Laska5772 · 20/03/2018 16:16

Looks good.. I love my rainbow jumper. But I also like the grey pink love jumper you had
(Not much help there then unless ypu can afford both!)Grin

ilovecherries · 20/03/2018 16:48

I'm a little upset. My raglan sleeve tee has transformed from a round neck to a nearly-off-the shoulder after its first wash at dawn in the tears of virgins. (The other shoulder is the same).

neveradullmoment99 · 20/03/2018 17:00

Yes cherries. All mine have done that. This is why I size down to xs. Much better. I have found they grow when washed esp round the neckline.

Ellapaella · 20/03/2018 17:15

Cherries that's really disappointing for such an expensive brand. Will you contact Hush and ask for a refund?

MrsPeacockDidIt · 20/03/2018 17:32

Cherries, that’s not great. Hush seem be quite good with customer service though.

Laska sadly I can’t afford to keep both (especially as I picked up a few things in mint velvet today Grin)

I think the rainbow one is much more me. If the pink hadn’t been so pale I might have been swayed but at 47 I don’t think I’m going to start loving pale pink lol.

I don’t really NEED another hush jumper but they wear so well and because they aren’t on the high street it means that I have something a little different.

Nearlyadoctor · 20/03/2018 17:43

Mrspeacock I definitely prefer the rainbow one on you, it looks more flattering imo.

My Mint Velvet shoes came to go with star jeans etc for the summer. Only showed them to Dd(10) so far who says they're too blingy! Opinions ladies?

miffy2 · 20/03/2018 17:46

nearly I love them! So much that I was about to order them myself but my size is OOS :) You will get loads of wear from them with black trousers, skirts, dresses as well as the blue jeans. Are they comfy?

Talisin · 20/03/2018 17:57

Those MV shoes are in the Next VIP sale so anyone else thinking of buying them might want to hold off a few days and see if you can get a bargain.

Nearlyadoctor · 20/03/2018 17:59

miffy2 they are comfy and true to size. I ordered a 5 and a 6 as very occasionally a 5 is too small but they're fine. So depending what size you need will definitely be sending back a 6.
I'll ask DH when he gets home but I know he'll say they're fine as never has that much of an opinion. I think it's just that I tend to go from boots to flip flops and apart from evening shoes don't wear shoe shoes that often.

Nearlyadoctor · 20/03/2018 18:04

Talisin do you know how much they are in the sale - I haven't bothered to book a VIP slot this time although they're are still some available.

MrsPeacockDidIt · 20/03/2018 19:24

Those shoes are lovely Dr. Not too blingy at all and they’ll go with loads of things.
