Student fumes...I went twice (just to explain the length of my list...). Gusts of Opium first time (it was art college so had to compete with turps and oil paint) and Eau de Gres (mandarin/green cologne) for light relief. Second time it was mainly Coco, Choc de Cardin and Cabochard. Worn with waxed Dr Martens and quite a lot of mohair.

Mine were worn with Courreges-style white boots and a home-sewn mini skirt made with half a yard of 36” material and a length of Petersham ribbon! (One or two decades earlier I think!)

Pah at the 90s. The 80s darlings was where it was at. Me and my Bonnie Tyler hair, my trendy leggings (when leggings only came in one length so one's friends had to keep a close eye on one's docs to make sure one's ankle wasn't poking out - way before the days when the crop trouser became a thing) and Final Countdown stylee scrunched hair.

There is an Italian singer of whom I am old enough probably to be his young grandmother called Stash. He is gor-geous and reminds me very much of a whippersnapper I used to let smell my Anais Anais at close quarters.

Oh god, I just googled him and he was born when I was in Rive Gauche and already graduated and working.

SoTD was Chergui. Very suitable in the bright showery cold. The honey reminds me of my winter box which has now finished flowering. Wondering about buying a pair of long flowering daphnes for either side of the front door; it's not very pretty but the scent is divine. Aesthetics or olfactories?

Olfactories, definitely! In the garden of one of my previous houses, there was a massive jasmine growing against the fence. In the summer when it was in flower, the whole house was scented by it. It was divine.
