Number 81! The days are getting longer, and we're looking forward to shedding a few layers for Spring, while remaining stylish of course. If you love talking fashion and new buys, come on in, all welcome! Gin Wine Brew

Oops, and top looks shocking on the website, but with cropped slim trousers and pointy flats will do nicely for work..........

Dreamqueen · 05/02/2018 18:12

Dry it's February not January Smile had to double check though Smile

I like that skirt, would't suit me because of my staright up and down shape but can imagine it really suiting you.

Having browsed the entire Selfridges jeans section, there are some really awful jeans on there.

Yes it's v quiet on here isn't it?

DryWhiteagainW · 05/02/2018 18:39

Oh my goodness Dream I’m loosing it aren’t I? So, it’s not so bad then, you’ve made me feel much better.....all of that is what I’ve bought this years so far, will slow down now Smile

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 05/02/2018 20:44

I'm slowly starting to feel better, have managed to keep some food down for the last couple of days so getting there, thanks for asking marsha how are you getting along with the new addition to the family? I hope you are managing at least some sleep!!

well, I haven't bought anything other than a few books so far, i did look at the jan sales but no clothes caught my eye at all and even though i keep getting emails with various sale events or small discounts on certain brands, nothings grabbing me and given that i havent yet managed to do a full wardrobe clear out yet because ive been ill, im determined not to buy anything new until ive cleared at least some space out!

QueenCapri · 06/02/2018 08:03

Morning. Just popping in briefly-haven’t had a chance to look at links.

Following on from shop saying about LM eye pencil (have you used it yet?), does anyone else have any recommendations for an eye brightening shadow/crayon? Happy to buy cheap or expensive.

Everyonelovessparkles · 06/02/2018 09:20

Hello! Feels like I’ve missed loads. I have been reading. Hopefully will remember everything!

Good haul fedup! I had also seen that stripey maternity dress on the m&s website and thought of blair Smile.

Glad to hear your DF is home shop, hope he’s doing ok.

Did you decide what to buy your DSIS for her birthday dream? I also only buy high st swimwear as they just seem to get trashed after one or two trips whstvwith suncream and chlorine etc I like the Boden amalfi bikini top which is a bandeau style with removable straps.

Hope you are feeling a bit better one.

I like that blue blouse dry that was much reduced, dud you buy it? Glad you found a black skirt that met your requirements. I don’t think you have bought too much, considering my list so far is 3 jumpers, 1 bikini, 1 beach dress, 1 pair of trainers, a pair of brown ankle boots, nude heels, black party shoes and cashmere joggers Shock Grin

For the MU I could do 4th and 17th but am out on the evening of the 3rd so might be a bit delicate on the 4th Grin.

How is DD gettingon at school now lib? Any progress on the job hunt?

Hope things are going ok with you too marsha.

It’s so cold here. Back in my cosy cashmere joggers. I’ve virtually lived in these since I bought them. Not sure I would bother with another brand like Chinti&parker again In order to get a more interesting design, as I actually prefer the white company ones. I’ll definitely be looking out for another pair in the sale.

Dreamqueen · 06/02/2018 09:35

Everyone I think I'm goung to have a pair of earrings made for her. Something similar to these ones. I'm meeting a jeweller friend while on hols next week and he says he will make them for me.
I bought some very cheap and cheerful swimwear from Matalan. It doesn't matter if it gets trashed. Going to look at the Boden stuff now.

One well done on the low spend January. I've been low spend up until yesterday when I ordered these shorts for my holiday next week. Last year I couldn't decide whu=ich size to buy and stupidly kept the smaller size. Losing 7lbs hasn't't happened so now I've ordered a pair that actually fit!!!!

I also fancy a pair of cashmere joggers like what Blingy and Everyone have.

Everyonelovessparkles · 06/02/2018 09:59

Those earrings are lovely dream. The Boden swimwear isn’t overly cheap (even with a 20% off code or unless you can get some in the clearance section) but it is pretty good quality. Nice shorts too!

I would definitely recommend the cashmere joggers. Wearing them is like being wrapped in a cosy blanket Smile.

Meant to say welcome back to queenc and ‘yay’ to all your fabulous links!

shopafrolic · 06/02/2018 11:58

QueenC yup I’ve used the eye crayon for the last two days and really rare it. Good staying power and no creases.

justasecond · 06/02/2018 17:36

welcome back queenc really pleased to see you back xx
shop will check out that eye crayon thing, sounds good I always love your beauty recommendations. DD persuaded me to buy a Naked 3 palette. Very pretty colours but basically its crap. No pigment at all.
Hope your df is feeling better now too.

Lib hope your dd has settled better into school now.

I can do a MU later on in March as am away for the first 2 with dps.

Those earings look lovely dream

shopping wise have bought this boring but useful jumper in black from Joseph via tkmaxx merino jumper

Love this shirt on the outnet today ag silk shirt maybe for shop?

shopafrolic · 06/02/2018 19:46

That’s lovely Justa - shame I blew this month’s shopping budget in Space NK Grin

BerniceBobsHerHair · 07/02/2018 10:31

Just popping by to link this skirt for Dry which I have been meaning to do for a while. Its in Next clearance which is really hard to link to, but warehouse skirt, is 100%cotton, no pleats, midi length.

here

Good to see you back QueenC Flowers

Alas no MUs for me til later in the year.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 07/02/2018 12:09

Also for anyone interested, M&S are doing a Sparks promo on beauty products from the Advent calendar. Not everything seems to be available though late to the party

libertyonhertravels · 07/02/2018 20:58

I rate Boden swimwear too. We were at the beach for Waitangi day on Tuesday and DH, DD and I were all wearing Boden swimmers / rash vests etc.

Justa I would love that merino jumper in the tobacco colour - it looks v useful.

Job hunting is taking over my life here - they want questions answered like 'which of our organisation values do you identify with and why?'. Why do HR teams ask this stuff, they must know that a lot of the answers will be complete BS?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/02/2018 10:59

Good luck with it Lib. It is BS but you have to jump through their stupid hoops! How is DD getting on?

Thanks for asking Marsha. I felt great last week. This week, I had to go into London for work for the first time in quite a while. I've been low on energy for weeks and I really suffered with all the rush hour charging around, ending with quite severe hip pain, I couldn't walk last night. Luckily I am back in the office today. It's crazy how quickly things change from week to week! How are things going with your beautiful DD?

I still haven't bought any clothes, but put away about a third of what's in my wardrobe at the weekend. Our bathroom finally got ripped out yesterday, so I am escaping to my mum's tomorrow. In the end we've gone for mid grey hexagonal floor tiles and large (30x60) white gloss wall tiles. I hope it looks as good as it does in my head!

DryWhiteagainW · 08/02/2018 22:25

Sounds great Blair

MarshaBradyo · 09/02/2018 14:07

Hello! All is good here, dd is 5 weeks, windy and sitting out her future hair 😬

Blair oh no about hip pain, hope it’s feeling better?

Lib thinking of your job search, excited to see what you go for

Blingy haven’t seen you for a while, hope you’re ok

libertyonhertravels · 09/02/2018 23:00

"sitting out her future hair" Marsha I am wracking my brain but cannot work out what you mean Grin. Can't believe she is 5 weeks already. DD was really windy at that age too - we used to be in stitches at the noise of her, just seemed impossible for such a small person.

Blair your bathroom sounds great. Have you talked to your midwife about the hip pain? A lot of areas have physio classes for pregnant women to assess hip pain and pelvic pain and can show you exercises to help. DD is fine now thanks. She has made a few friends and we hosted our first playdate after school yesterday.

Marsha I have applied for three jobs so far. No responses yet. Slow process. I applied for the job I liked the sound of outside of Auckland but I am still torn about what to do if I actually get it as we all really like Auckland.

No fashion news. I am living in Next boyfriend denim shorts or Boden cropped jeans with t-shirts or loose shirts and either flip flops or Superstars. Big sunnies (am favouring a Missoni pair I got in TK Maxx ages ago), gold hoop earrings and red lips to try and look pulled together.

DryWhiteagainW · 10/02/2018 08:37

Sounds as if you’ve got summer fashion nailed liberty
Good to hear things are going well for DD

MarshaBradyo · 10/02/2018 09:00

Ha Lib I meant sorting out future hair - she’s losing her original tufts and I’m wondering what colour it will go underneath, could go either way

Really pleased about your dd, hope there’s news on the job front soon. Auckland does sound good and that weather is a big plus, I didn’t realise how far north it is

libertyonhertravels · 10/02/2018 09:40

The weather really is fab here Marsha. It's been very wet this week but up to now I can't complain. We are living in a very central suburb but all around it's green as it's basically sub tropical - go to sleep to the sound of cicadas every night.

Thanks Dry Smile

libertyonhertravels · 10/02/2018 09:41

So funny when babies get those bald patches!

Dreamqueen · 10/02/2018 19:27

Glad to read that you're settling in Lib

I've spent the day in pyjamas and feel great for it. In slight panic because I haven't lost the lbs that I wanted to before holiday but on the other hand, Do I really care?

Happy half term xx

libertyonhertravels · 11/02/2018 07:08

When do you head off Dream? Sod the lbs - style it out Smile.

MarshaBradyo · 11/02/2018 08:14

Have a lovely holiday Dream
