Number 81! The days are getting longer, and we're looking forward to shedding a few layers for Spring, while remaining stylish of course. If you love talking fashion and new buys, come on in, all welcome! Gin Wine Brew

MAnic week here so just trying to catch up.
Good buys blingy althOugh I’m not too sure about how you’d style the skirt.
dry that midlife chic post resonated with me for 2 reasons. 1. I absolutely agree that hrt can make you feel like you again and 2. Also absolutely agree about a good haircut.

Style adages are also the km “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” and the Chanel one about removing an item before you leave the house.

QueenCornflower · 29/04/2018 16:08

one I’d try primark or Sainsbury’s.

QueenCornflower · 29/04/2018 16:12

Having had a brief perusal of designer stuff, I’ve found no inspiration and so I’m sticking to the high st for today’s links.
Starting with shoes for dry

QueenCornflower · 29/04/2018 16:30

shop could you wear something like this top with shorts and dress it up for a Majorcan evening?

QueenCornflower · 29/04/2018 16:33

for lib

QueenCornflower · 29/04/2018 16:34

for kitty. This shape dress looked amazing on you and you said you wanted brightening up

QueenCornflower · 29/04/2018 16:42

Hmm, I’m not being very I inspired by the high st either although did notice that John Lewis has 20% off some brands....

QueenCornflower · 29/04/2018 16:46

fedup did you ever get your espadrilles? Lovely selection of colours here

DryWhiteagainW · 29/04/2018 17:09

Gosh QueenC I really do love those loafers....

kittyhello · 29/04/2018 20:06

Queen I like that dress and am still contemplating the plain red one too, it takes these days for me to buy something, I really do cogitate as I feel I'm becoming fussier in my old age.

Lovely buys Blingy especially the MCQueen dress.

I love the colour of those shoes Dry I've been really impressed with M&S footwear of late, have bought 2 pairs this year.

Of my Stories purchases I'm keeping the loud print dress, but sent back the stripe velour sweater, dh said I looked like a 5 year old in it Hmm tbh I wasn't going to keep it as it wasn't me, but that comment cemented my decision. Grin

I read on the Parisian thread that Everlane are shipping to the UK for a limited period. Has anyone bought from them? There are a few items I quite like, returns will be free but I'm not sure about their sizing - is their sizing like JCrew?

Longislandicetee · 29/04/2018 21:34

I love those M&S shoes Dry. I always like a couple of their shoes at any one point in time, but my feet are very sensitive (even more so now) so i don't buy from there.

I do love the LKB espadrilles that QueenC linked. I am going on holiday in a few weeks time for half term and am very tempted to get them.

Dry, you're absolutely right, one can never have too many diamonds.Grin I think my other mantra is "Life is too short so don't save your best stuff, wear your best stuff". So i haven't been out of the house today, but I have still been wearing my Boodles Raindance ring and in fact, am sitting in bed in my PJs with it on.

I have spent all afternoon looking at wallpapers and feel cross eyed! I told dh yesterday how much i spent while he was out for the afternoon, and all he did was give me an indulgent smile.Confused. Clearly, not having had a spree in a while working in my favour...makes me think i might have a teeny high street splurge for my holiday. Is anyone else going away next half term?

QueenCornflower · 29/04/2018 22:17

Ooh I love it when I link stuff that people buy so please one of you buy something!

Not sure yet of plans for half term, hoping to go away though even if just for a couple of days.

shopafrolic · 30/04/2018 10:38

Thanks QueenC I've ordered the top to try but then noticed it has a pocket so will have to see. I have my eye on a maxi skirt that it would work with and I love a tank.
Horrible weather here today - so cold :(

Everyonelovessparkles · 30/04/2018 10:52

Horrible here too. Though the weather suggests that things might start to improve from tomorrow. Fingers crossed.....I feel like I’ve lived in Jeans and a jumper plus waterproof parka FOREVER.

We’re off to Menorca in half term blingy. Had a quick run through of my holiday wardrobe and don’t think I need anything else. I go on so few hot holidays now that proper holiday stuff lasts for ages Grin.

queenc I think the weather is contributing to a general lack of enthusiasm for shopping / browsing. When the weather is so miserable and cold it’s hard to get excited about lovely summer clothes. How was the warehouse sundress you ordered a few weeks ago? Did you decide to keep it?

Like blingy I also don’t believe in saving things for ‘best’ (within reason), there’s no point in having nice things if they’re stuck in a wardrobe.

Shame about the rainbow stripey jumper kitty as it looked nice, but even if you weren’t sure, I can see how your DH’s comment would put you off.

shopafrolic · 30/04/2018 13:44

All this talk of half term sun sounds amazing. I'm over cashmere jumpers, jeans and boots. I had to wear a hat and scarf on the school run!
Do any of you know if Me&em ever do discount codes please?

QueenCornflower · 30/04/2018 14:33

It’s freezing isn’t it? Wished I’d had my gloves this morning!
everyone the warehouse dress went back. As dry predicted it didn’t work with boobs. Lovely dress though if anyone flat chested wanted to try it.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 30/04/2018 14:41

I agree blingy and i save nothing for 'best' i do have some stuff that's worn less but it's a little fancy for walking to sainsburys but it's not saved for best, just for more appropriate times! I don't have expensive jewellery or anything like that but i like shiny rings and earrings and just wear whatever i fancy/can be bothered to put on. I used to save things hoping for a 'best' but it never happened and things would end up not fitting so i thought F**k it in the end and now wear things when i want. I wasted so many things saving them and it was really sad int he end because i just let them go to waste

QueenCornflower · 30/04/2018 15:38

I’m still guilty of saving things for best. I just can’t get it into my head to wear the same thing out as I wear to work

AmberNectarine · 30/04/2018 16:18

Mine are:

Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world - Marilyn Monroe

And, though I'm not a fan of her look

Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak - Rachel Zoe.

I live and die by those.

kittyhello · 30/04/2018 16:59

Loving the style adages, here's mine:

I can remember watching that episode many years ago.

Everyonelovessparkles · 30/04/2018 17:45

Shame about the dress queenc. I think it depends on where you work and the dress code etc and the types of places you go out. Sometimes it does feel like I wear the same things all the time as I might wear the same (smart) top and jeans to work that I would wear on a night out. Obviously there are some things that are too fancy to wear to Pizza express or work, but there are less of these in my wardrobe now as I have changed my buying habits to reflect my (more boring) lifestyle.

😂😂😂 kitty

DryWhiteagainW · 30/04/2018 19:48

Ooh a YouTube link , how high tech! Grin

Amber I love the MM shoe quote.....so true!

My work/smart casual cross over is high, which is good for CPW but I do have a real problem with daytime casual/going out. I really like special going out stuff which is why I never feel special if I wear jeans to go out.

Can someone tell me this.....
I look at loads, LOADS of blogs and Pinterest look ideas. I ADORE high heels but can’t really wear anything higher than a block heel for work.
I see so many pictures of women in jeans with heels for daytime, I love that look but honestly who wears this look? I’d look an idiot in Sainsbury’s in my stilettos .......

MarshaBradyo · 30/04/2018 20:48

I love this but can’t buy it due to the apc logo stamped on the front APC shame : (

MarshaBradyo · 30/04/2018 20:49

I never wear heels in the day but I have done skinnies and GRossis - so long ago it might be out if fashion Shock

MarshaBradyo · 30/04/2018 20:54

Anyone there quick opinions please!

MGSM dress yay or nay for me??
