Number 81! The days are getting longer, and we're looking forward to shedding a few layers for Spring, while remaining stylish of course. If you love talking fashion and new buys, come on in, all welcome! Gin Wine Brew

I think maternity wear has come on SO much. I wore Isabella Oliver pretty much exclusively, but that was 7y ago and we now have ASOS maternity and Topshop maternity isn't just a little side annexe to the flagship store on Oxford St anymore. I like my maternitywear because it was as close as I will ever come to a capsule wardrobe, but I didn't really feel like me in much of it - all in a muted colour palette and very tasteful!

dry, I know you thought you'd found my celebrity double, but DH pointed out how much I look like Anna Paquin tonight. I can't believe I've never noticed it, but he's right!

MarshaBradyo · 29/01/2018 08:50

Chanel boy for me Merriboo

BerniceBobsHerHair · 29/01/2018 10:11

Just dropping by to say huge congratulations to Blair - how exciting!!

My maternity saviours were long line vests so I could wear most of my tops and then shirts left open near the end. Also lived in my hush harems (though I don't think they are really your style) and jersey ruched skirts - which you can just wear under bump.

I keep giggling to myself about Amber putting a bonnet on the cat Grin

I love this dress

Lib the first dress you linked (might be on the other thread) reminded me of one of your dresses - a Liberty print summer one, the brand has since gone bust I think. I think you may have worn it to a MU or mini MU - ring any bells??

BerniceBobsHerHair · 29/01/2018 10:44

Me again - if anyone liked Lib's red Zara dress from last year, similar here in a blue / white stripe.

Fedup (and Stokey?) keep meaning to ask how you've got on with the M&S advent calendar goodies. I love the gatineau (though won't rebuy as £££) and the Filorga Meso mask. Also just started on the Liquid gold.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/01/2018 11:39

Thank you all so much for the good wishes :) Flowers

Bernice I do own hush harems already actually! But they're quite old and have saggy knees... great for loungewear though. And I have a ruched skirt from Baukjen, so that's good to know that I should be able to keep wearing it. Hope my bum doesn't grow too much!

Amber I thought one of the Anna P pics was actually you (the bottom left one!)

I definitely want to do a capsule, but I don't want to get carried away buying "essentials" that really aren't.

Oh and I'd definitely be up for a March MU please :)

Thanks ladies- 2 to 1 so far.
It’s not quite like for like as the boy is the old medium so smaller (and lambskin so more delicate leather) and the Gucci is th medium so a more practical size/hardier leather

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/01/2018 11:46

I also saw some nice striped shirt dresses:
Uniqlo
Gap
I was thinking about trying one of them as they don't look fitted around the waist, but maybe I'd be too big for them by the time it's warm enough for shirt dresses. So sick of opaque tights!

Spot the difference Confused 1 and 2

meriboo I like both bags too. Is the boy more of a forever bag? If you get the marmont would you still want a boy? But I guess it also depends which would be more useful for you? Not helpful I know!

Yes pregnancy clothes are so much better these days, there’s so much choice. If you need smart clothes for work blair you will probably need some stuff just for work then a couple of things for weekend / casual.

Everyonelovessparkles · 29/01/2018 11:54

Blush just realised it is the same dress, the Anthropologie site just has the ‘by rixo’ In the details!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/01/2018 11:58

Merriboo I vote for the boy, think the style will have more longevity.

Lol everyone that's sneaky of anthropologie.

I can't decide whether to get straight leg jeans or skinnies, and can't really justify 2 pairs, unless I get the straight legs from Topshop and the skinnies from somewhere cheaper like H&M maybe? I think skinnies would look better with blazers/jackets and loose top/vest. If you had to choose 1 which would you get? It's just that I was really enjoying wearing my topshop straight leg jeans before...

Does anyone know if Sam Edelman sandals are small or big fitting please? Seen a lovely pair of gold ones but can't work out which size to order. I'm normally a 4.5 but sometimes a 4 fits.

Thats a big price difference on that dress Everyone If I was taller and thinner I'd order it.

FedupNagging · 29/01/2018 19:01

Dream I generally take 4.5 but size up to a 5 with SE shoes as I have wide feet and SE shoes are narrow.

Merriboo tough choice but I think the boy bag just edges it for me.

Blair I clocked the Uniqlo dress when you pinned it recently and it definitely reminded me of the lovely red stripe one Lib wore. I've even checked it out on their website as it's really nice.

I wore dungarees a lot when pg, also mahoosive jumpers and ski pants with ds1 (remember ski pants? Blush ) In my defence, this was all a long time ago!

DryWhiteagainW · 29/01/2018 20:23

Meriboo Chanel all the way here.

Had a brill time in Dublin —although in the dark early hours I picked the wrong black trousers and felt wrong all day— laughed all day. I love Irish people even more now.

Liberty your restaurant recommendation was fantastic.

My mobile phone is having an extra few days in Galway Hmm, left on bus, picked up by nice lady who is sending it home (hopefully!)

Dreamqueen · 29/01/2018 20:27

Thank you Fedup. They're on zalando so might just order both sizes.

libertyonhertravels · 29/01/2018 20:35

Dry I was just wondering how you got on in Ireland. Glad the restaurant was good. It was a friend of mine who recommended it so I'll pass on the thumbs up!

Blair I'd be wary of shirt dresses in pregnancy. They are not very flattering if you get big mamalicious boobs Smile

Good memory Bernice! The dress you are thinking of is my Allium B liberty print dress. I must dig it out, would work well here.

Have just dropped DD off for her first day at school here and I am very weepy. It's partly that we've been together every day for months but also that it makes the move very real. It's been a bit of an extended holiday until now.

DryWhiteagainW · 29/01/2018 21:24

I’ve pmd you Liberty

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/01/2018 22:08

Aww Lib. I bet she loves it. Your turn next, with the job :)

That's a good tip about shirt dresses - I will be mindful! Ugh I'm so indecisive. Just saw the frugality's new post about her maternity wardrobe, she mentions packing away everything that didn't fit early on. I so need to do that!

Dream I'm a 5 and my Sam edelman sandals are all true to size, they say 8 on the sole, in case that helps you.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 30/01/2018 11:40

best wishes for your DF Shop

i feel utterly wretched, every time i stand up i feel like im going to pass out so trying to move as little as possible Sad

i was hoping to go through my clothes again this week and bag up anything i know im not wearing but thats on the back burner for now until i feel better although i had come up with a bin bag full already on saturday!!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 30/01/2018 13:02

One your wardrobes must be like the tardis with the amount of stuff you always find Grin you poor thing, don't move if you don't have to, is DP around to look after you?

shop oh no, will be thinking of you and your Dad Flowers

OP posts:
Everyonelovessparkles · 30/01/2018 13:28

one you poor thing, you really do suffer. Take it easy and just rest and drink lots of fluids. You do seem to have a lot of clothes! Where do you store it all??

Sorry to hear about your DF shop. Flowers

I received the new Boden catalogue today. My eye was drawn to this dress. It looks quite classic in the black, but I quite like the spotty and this blue / red colouway too. Don’t know where they are getting their prices from though Shock? It’s almost like they know everyone uses a 20% off code and just whack 20% onto the price to counteract the discount. But even with the discount a lot of the dresses are still pretty £££ for polyester....

Everyonelovessparkles · 30/01/2018 13:30

lib hope DD is ok. Maybe it was just the shock of being back at school, and a totally different one at that???

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 30/01/2018 15:09

blair and everyone i am immensely good at packing a lot into a very small space which is why my wardrobes/drawers seem tardis like Grin I don't have as much as i used to though, i have been very deliberately not buying much at all for at least the last year, i've been making a bigger effort to make use of what i already have and really think about it before i add in anything new, I probably spent less than £100 total last year on new clothes, excluding basics like underwear, bras and tights. I know i still have stuff that i'm not wearing though and it has to go, if i haven't worn it within the last year, then its unlikely im going to!
