Number 81! The days are getting longer, and we're looking forward to shedding a few layers for Spring, while remaining stylish of course. If you love talking fashion and new buys, come on in, all welcome! Gin Wine Brew

QueenC we all go through this.
Substitute “more mature” for “older” .....
I think you get to a point when your wardrobe is pretty full, you know your style and you just need a few bits from time to time. I think it’s refining stuff. You can afford nicer fabrics, more expensive classic investment pieces.
I also think this is a rubbish time of year when what we all need is a bit of sunshine and to get our summer wardrobes out.
Like you, I’m a bit heavier than I’d like, and a lot pastier after winter hibernation, but a bit of St Trop and a few days of ankles out and everything will be ok.
I’m popping out, but will. E back with a couple of early morning purchases..........some polyester too Grin

QueenCornflower · 15/04/2018 09:48

for shop

QueenCornflower · 15/04/2018 09:55

DO people actually buy these?

QueenCornflower · 15/04/2018 09:57

Even more bonkers

QueenCornflower · 15/04/2018 09:59

How sweaty would this be??

QueenCornflower · 15/04/2018 10:06

I think you’re right dry. I don’t particularly need anything as such and that has made me incredibly fussy. I don’t tend to buy anything anymore unless it makes me feel utterly amazing. I just really would like some summer dresses and a couple of new tops. But because they don’t get much wear I go for cheaper versions which is why they don’t look as good as some of my more expensive winter wear.

I could spend a fortune on shoes, bags and jewellery so maybe that’s the answer. Shit clothes but fabulous accessories!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/04/2018 13:57

I think it can happen to us all every few years QueenC, but totally even more understandable when you've been through a stressful few months and are feeling generally unsettled. You have a fab wardrobe already, but maybe you just need to treat yourself to a few things from nicer brands? Maybe Sezane, Claudie Pierlot or Sandro (I can only think of French examples for you lol).

Thanks Marsha, physio was good, she has given me some exercises to do to strengthen my core/pelvis/legs. I love the sound of "plundering French cuteness", I bet DD looks adorable!

So looking forward to the warm weather this week. It was glorious yesterday. Everything seems better in the sun!

DryWhiteagainW · 15/04/2018 14:38

oops halter neck

DryWhiteagainW · 15/04/2018 14:40

Marsha I used to buy lots for DD from Verbaudet and La Redoute catalogues. Love French clothes for little ones.

DryWhiteagainW · 15/04/2018 14:42

Oh and QueenC I’ve also found that I need to update my foundations as my skin matures too. I’m getting more and more dewy Grin

QueenCornflower · 15/04/2018 16:50

blair you know me well-I love those brands and have often thought about ordering from sezane but apparently theblouses are quite boxy and short in length so wouldn’t be great for me. I keep an eye on Claudie Pierlot as they have good sales.

Can totally see you in that dressand top dry

DryWhiteagainW · 15/04/2018 17:57

I may be having a midlife crisis. Just really fancy a pair of raw edged jeans

DryWhiteagainW · 15/04/2018 18:10

oh wow

shopafrolic · 15/04/2018 21:09

QueenC I completely understand where you’re coming from. I feel as if I have aged 5 years in the last 3 months. I caught sight of myself in a restaurant mirror a few weeks ago and genuinely didn’t recognise myself I looked so awful (no make up and unkempt hair that day). I have been forcing myself to make more of an effort.
Regarding foundations, I have had to change some formulations but have also found double cleanse, acid toner, hyaluronic and then moisturiser has helped massively. All fairly cheap products but working for me.
Clinique take the day off balm, Pixi tonic, The Ordinary Buffet and then Neutrogena moisturiser in a blue pot.
Back in a bit.

QueenCornflower · 15/04/2018 21:34

My skin is a lot better since I switched products but I’m still better off keeping it simple. I’ve started using oil at night as well which really helps. Make up wise, I’ve recently bought quite a lot-eyeshadow and lipsticks and I’m happy with my existing powder/blusher.
I think I’ll be happier once ive shed a few pound too. Just eating healthily this week my tummy feels flatter. I need to get back into a regular exercise pattern too.

Love this raw hem jeans dry

VivaVegas · 15/04/2018 22:49

I feel similar Queen everything I've bought online recently has gone back and I'm carrying an extra half a stone that I've been unhappy about since Christmas but can't seem to shift! I do loads of exercise but am a terrible snacker, particularly in the evening. Need to find some willpower to knock that on the head and be done.
Now that Spring is hopefully here I need to cast off my boots and get my trainers on! Any tips on what to use to get last years Stans back to a nice white??

DryWhiteagainW · 16/04/2018 08:45

Cif Viva or shove them in the washing machine. I do both

VivaVegas · 16/04/2018 09:11

Thanks Dry I did wonder about putting then in the machine but didn't want to ruin them!
Do you put them in a pillowcase or not and with other stuff? Don't want to ruin my machine either!

maradesbois · 16/04/2018 16:16

Important Announcement!!! - planned MU date is Sat 30 June please can you let me know if you think you can make it. Sorry for not sorting sooner. Xx

maradesbois · 16/04/2018 16:29

QueenC I had a look at cheap high st summer dresses I thought would suit you and came up with the following:

bright blue throw-on from Warehouse.

this one and this one from H&M.

Not sure if you can do red but thought that these had quite a Rouje-type vibe.

Used my Matches code to get Chloé Lauren ballet flats. Was going to get the same pink-toned nude as I have in the block heels then decided to be different. Will wear these loads.

maradesbois · 16/04/2018 16:30

Rouje dress

AmberNectarine · 16/04/2018 20:27

Dry I have a pair of straight leg, raw hem jeans from TS, which might just be my favourite jeans EVER. I also have raw edge Levi wedgies, which are great too.

DryWhiteagainW · 16/04/2018 22:56

Oh great Amber Mine arrive tomorrow, can’t wait!
