Number 81! The days are getting longer, and we're looking forward to shedding a few layers for Spring, while remaining stylish of course. If you love talking fashion and new buys, come on in, all welcome! Gin Wine Brew

Thanks for the Choccy praise - I have definitely indulged today!Easter Grin We have had such a nice day - church in the morning followed by an Easter Egg hunt then which was huge fun, then home for our own Easter egg hunt. The Easter bunny comes while we are at church. I left the first clue on the floor, just before I closed the door and set the alarm, unfortunately the piece of paper blew across the hallway, setting off the alarm. Dh got a call in church and had to leg it home else the police would turn up. End result, the dcs are totally convinced now that the Easter bunny set off the alarm. Easter Grin. Shop, there is a whole sequencing thing to my 20 clues, so this is something i am actually organised about for a change and have a secret document with the order of the clues!

Dh accidentally picked up beef instead of lamb, so that's what we had for lunch, but so delicious. And then this afternoon was movie afternoon followed by games. yesterday we watched The Sound of Music with the dcs and today it was Mary Poppins. The kids haven't actually realised yet that it's the same actress bit slow Grin

Justa your Zara link reminded me that I had about 20 minutes to kill on Saturday so went in there. I couldn't find a single thing that I liked. Not one thing. I don't know whether it's me - I tend to be fussier when i know i need to declutter.

Lib also, i you posted the link to the New Zealander designer that you have discovered a few days ago, those clothes were lovely. Especially the first dress.

Feel like one last piece of chocolate...!

DryWhiteagainW · 02/04/2018 19:26

Happy Easter everyone! I'm still at a big family reunion/ big birthday celebration. With my family this involves food, food and more food. Have been out for lunch, back for cake and the buffet is about to start Shock....obscene amounts of chocolate (even for late teenagers who have joined inegg hunts with little cousins). I feel blessed. Lovely day.

MarshaBradyo · 03/04/2018 12:04

Nice one - Matches sent some proper codes, will have a look later

Shop I know! me too - as tall as me too. Dd skews it back the other way somewhat

Glad everyone had a lot felt Easter. Dh is off all week as we were going to be away so still feels like Easter here

libertyonhertravels · 03/04/2018 12:33

Sounds like people are having lovely relaxing Easters. Was good here too, we had friends over for lunch on Easter Sunday and others over on Easter Monday for nibbles and drinks. Have gone to the beach a couple of times too over the long weekend, making the most of Auckland weather before we venture south.

I have been shopping! Work contract signed so feel like I can spend at last. Bought this charcoal midi knitted skirt which I absolutely love - really comfy, flattering and seems to go with everything I own. Makes winter worth it!

I also bought this top in both white (it's off white really) and charcoal grey. Really nice thick cotton, great for layering. It's fitted on me rather than loose as shown on the model and these skinnies.

I updated my eye make up with a gorgeous green eyeliner and some brow grooming stuff from Mac.

Blingy the Kate Sylvester clothes are stunning but I'm going to wait for a discount or sale...I think...if I can Grin

libertyonhertravels · 03/04/2018 12:35

Cross post with Marsha ... off to see if I got a Matches code...

Dreamqueen · 03/04/2018 17:50

Glad that everyone has had a good Easter.

I've been panic buying online today. I need a dress for a 50th birthday party, dressy do at a country club. I don't want to spend much as carrying too many surplus lbs at the moment. I've ordered this one in red and also the one that my DIL says is better. Thoughts please MNV? or any better suggestions? The max I want to spend on this is £100 as plan on losing some fat soon. Also on the lookout for some shoes with a bit of a heel that won't cut my feet to ribbons. I had planned to wear the dress that I trashed at the wedding, hence the major panic now.

RoadToRivendell · 03/04/2018 18:04

Hello ladies, may I join? I've been drawn in by way of the rugby top thread - I'm keenly anticipating the new season and rotating my wardrobe, whenever that might happen.

Dreamqueen · 03/04/2018 18:16

If I was doing fantasy dress buying this would be perfect.

DryWhiteagainW · 04/04/2018 13:56

Dream bother, I love the fantasy one best Confused

Hello Road and welcome. Bit quiet on here at the mo. Tell us about yourself...the rugby shirt thread sounds intriguing.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 04/04/2018 15:01

Welcome Road :) I think the rainy weather has put people off talking about Spring buys in recent days! What have you got your eye on?

I'm wearing a maternity dress for the first time today - this one with a cardigan. So comfortable (bump seems to have grown quite a bit over the last few days).

Dream I prefer the red dress. Not sure where else to suggest for dresses that shape, as they've never suited me. Maybe Finery?

RoadToRivendell · 04/04/2018 17:29

thanks for the warm welcome

45 here, in London, recently lost a bit of weight so I'm pretty excited to be revamping my wardrobe and resurrecting some previously relegated stuff. I've just bought a couple of pairs of wide-legged spring trousers at J.Crew. Rather a lot of other things but that's all I can think of at the moment.

Rugby top thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/3210892-Is-this-top-really-ageing-unflattering

I personally adore rugby shirts, but suspect I'm well past them!

RoadToRivendell · 04/04/2018 17:31

Dreamqueen, I'm stand squarely with your DIL here, the black dress is perfect.

RoadToRivendell · 04/04/2018 17:31

Standing!

Dreamqueen · 04/04/2018 18:17

Welcome Road.

Blair your link isn't working for me.

Dry the fantasy dress is lovely isn't it? I can imagine feeling like a Bond girl in it.

I really don't want to spend much on this dress because hoping to lose weight and get back into most of my wardrobe. All the shops seem to be full of either boho, bodycon or skater styles. I can't wear any of those.

It is very quiet on here, for a moment I was worried that my poor choice in dresses had killed the thread!!!Smile

FedupNagging · 04/04/2018 19:31

I'm here Dream - love, love the Huishan Zhang dress. I think I like the River Island dress better than the Asos black and red is the nicest colourway.

I have a pair of block heel sandals from Dune - these which go with everything and are mega comfortable. JL have these in several different colours.

Waves to Road. I used to love a rugby shirt too.

Blair you must be blooming; can't open your link though.

I ordered and returned these flatform brogues in grey. They looked fab but too narrow and the leather was very unforgiving.

I have another order arriving (hopefully) tomorrow with a couple of Whistles tops, a sale coat and several pairs of espadrilles. Will link later.

libertyonhertravels · 05/04/2018 02:20

Welcome Road. Wardrobe update sounds like fun! I must read that thread about rugby shirts - IMO they are strictly for match days!

Blair it is funny how pregnancy bumps can just suddenly pop out or seem much bigger. How is the hip/back pain now?

Dream your fantasy dress is fabulous and would really suit you. of your alternatives I prefer the black one so you don't seem to have a MNV consensus on this!

I have been discovering the joys of TradeMe (NZ's ebay). Have just bought an Anna Thomas (Aussie designer) unworn (Labels still attached) cardigan in wasabi green for $50 (about £28). Have a bid in on a silk Kate Sylvester skirt to wear it with - the excitement!!!

Shame about the flatform brogues Fedup. They look very you.

Dreamqueen · 05/04/2018 06:51

Thanks for all dress thoughts.

Fedup your grey sandals look very comfortable. I've ordered the ones that you linked from John Lewis and also ordered these platform ones to try. Saw these gold flats that might be good for summer & they might have fallen into my basket. If they're nice, thy're a bargain at £25.

The various dresses are at my Collect+ shop, I'll go and get them later and have a try on.

In my youth rugby shirts were the fashion but I haven't worn one since DS stopped playing rugby and I didn't have to support from the sideline. (Don't miss those cold Saturday afternoons at all)

Lib great purchase. Glad that you've settled in & sound so happy down there.

MarshaBradyo · 05/04/2018 13:51

I need to catch up so excuse this post but it turns out we are covered for private healthcare unbelievable!
So many calls and going through t&cs - I am Diane Lockhart of Vogue

Beautiful day back mater to catch up

MarshaBradyo · 05/04/2018 14:59

On the plus side moving to a house with a west facing garden is every bit as good as I thought it would be

I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine

MarshaBradyo · 05/04/2018 15:19

Dream the Black one for me and I love love the fantasy one

Welcome Road

Sounds like great fun Lib

We were mini o/s sloanes when we were young so funny
So velvet head bands, air hostess scarves, pie crust and rugby too collar firmly up Grin

Tell me about your late school fashion

MarshaBradyo · 05/04/2018 15:20

Looking forward to seeing your links Fedup

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 06/04/2018 10:33

Great news Marsha hope that means things will speed up? I was just thinking of you this morning. Your garden sounds lovely.

Dream those gold shoes are lovely and a proper bargain. The platform heels look very versatile.

Lib the pain has been a bit worse this week unfortunately. We had a memory foam mattress topper delivered yesterday, which I'm hoping is going to let me lie in our (slightly too firm) bed for longer than 7 hours without my back being in agony. Other than that, I think my pelvis must have got worse because my whole body is tense all the time lately, compensating for it I'm guessing. Sad

Discovering new Aussie/NZ designers sounds fun, you'll have to put pics up for us when your items arrive, would love to see them.

My link from the other day is this dress, sorry. I don't look quite that glam in it, especially as heels are but a dream for me right now. Wearing it again today with the most useful BR cardigan and Stan Smiths (ballet flats in the office but they're not the most supportive). And no opaque tights, it was definitely a nude stockings day today! :) I had to get back in the shower to shave my legs lol Blush

Dream ok as an alternative you could just buy a cheap black shift dress and sew marriboo feathers on hem

Oh, does anyone know if there is a handbag doctor company anywhere that can recondition leather bags? My everyday black is looking a bit battered/faded but actually in great condition other then that.

And, Road I really don’t like rugby tops on women at all....really for the pitch only..........

DryWhiteagainW · 06/04/2018 18:32

Better not go on that thread eh?

shopafrolic · 06/04/2018 18:38

There is a handbag company but I need to remember the name of it Dry - need to check on Facebook. I'll try and tag you.
