Morning! Hope everyone's staying warm. I had a much better journey today as I took DH's car which has winter tyres he got the train! I have just been wearing my Chelsea boots for driving, but if the snow lasts to the weekend I'll wear my Timberlands.

Mara ouch re the plantar fasciitis. At least you have a perfect excuse not to go anywhere at the moment. I second Fedup re the jab - DH used to get similar pain, and when we were in Japan our friend's dad (surgeon) just gave him a jab so he could keep walking on holiday lol. He's never had it again since he's been managing his diabetes, interestingly, so I don't know if it was proper PF.

Has anyone else noticed mid season sales starting? Madness! I had one email, from Uterque, but I've unsubscribed from loads, does anyone know of any others?

It’s all Shop’s fault! After resigning myself to not being appropriately shod for a few days during this cold spell, her Sorel purchase of yesterday set me on a train of thought which led to the purchase of these. I paid for same day timed delivery so will get them early afternoon, excited!

Blair and Fedup thanks for foot advice. I don’t think objection will be necessary as it seems to be getting better on its own helped my nurofen, it only started to hurt at the very end of my run so hopefully I didn’t do too much damage. The doc said it can be chronic in certain cases like those who stand all day in shoes without proper support or the heavily overweight but as this was sports inflicted should be a one of so long as I give it time to heal.

Dry meant to say I loved the Zara tweed you linked the other day, they do chanelesque so well. I have a dress in similar fabric that is over 10 years old which will not part with even though there’s no way it would fit over my arse atm.

Blair haven’t seen anything about mid season sales but generally think discounts are so ubiquitous these days I find myself never paying full price for anything as it seems to be equal overpricing when discounts are so readily available. I was wondering about your dh and his diabetes recently, is he still controlling it with diet alone?

Dry Dubarrys are good if I have thermal socks and boot liners so yes I should just wear those but I’ve always wanted Sorels. Mine arrive tomorrow. Will report back. I hope I’ve got the sizing right but I reckon in this weather I can sell on at a small profit if I’ve got it wrong.

Ooo those sorels look great shop. Did you order your normal size or a size up/down? I’m quite tempted too as they look good for winter walks, playground visits, school run etc, so will wait to hear your verdict when they arrive.

blair I’ve seen a lot of discounts around at the moment (20% off whistles, LKBennet etc). I guess as the weather is still so wintery, people aren’t really buying the new season spring stuff so retailers are offering incentives.

Still quite a bit of snow here but the DC are still at school / nursery. dry is your school postponing world book day? DD had her dress up on Monday and DS has his today (not that he was bothered!)

mara love those boots! Great colour, will fit well into your wardrobe. Yes he is basically pre diabetic now, he never eats any carbs (including grains like quinoa, but he eats pulses) or sugar, aside from a bit of 70% dark chocolate. Unfortunately for him, since I've been pregnant my appetite has shot up so he has to watch me having carbs with every meal! Glad the foot is improving :)

Everyone good point about the weather bringing discounts. I just need some on Isabella Oliver and Seraphine now...

Shop those Sorels are a really good shoe for this weather. I bought a pair of Sorel Tivoli boots last year in the sale at JCrew; they were ridiculously cheap. I'm so glad I bought them they have been excellent in this weather and can wear them with just a pair of normal thin socks. The grip on them is great, I can even run on ice in them without falling over, not recommended btw

Dry I love your snake print shoes, I ordered some snake print pumps from Whistles last year and returned them but now I want a pair again. I have my eye on some at JCrew. Can't link as my internet is so slow and has been for a while, damn you Sky.

kitty here it is slippers! They are pretty £££ but I’ve listed after them all winter. Unfortunately the 15% discount looks to have finished now. They are due for delivery today so can report back later.

blair are IO and serphine offering a discount if you sign up to their mailing lists? I don’t remember seraphine having many discount codes / offers when I was pregnant, but I did buy a fair few things in the sales.

I like the Tivolis that you and Marsha have - nice to have a gap between the sole and the heel IYSWIM. These are the ones I have ordered but from another store.

I nearly went for these which I love but they are pure snow boots as opposed to general bad weather

Loads here reduced in small sizes - never heard of the store though.....

There are lots of sites with Sorel reduced at the moment - worth a search through the shopping tab on Google.

Regarding sales I got a sweaty Betty email with up to 50% off including ski wear. Could’ve done with that before half term.

Boots arrived bang in the middle of the delivery window, Matches really are great at logistics. Tested them on the school run, feet stayed warm and I didn’t fall (wouldn’t have stood up to running on ice though, pretty impressive Kitty ). They come with extra laces in gold which may switch to for the weekend. The Sorel Tivoli look great too, I was considering the caribou ones in tan but really wanted something I could get today and couldn’t understand the sizing properly, NAP had UK 6 at US 9 which I thought seemed too big.

Blair that’s amazing about dh. Can’t imagine life without carbs but I guess when you have no choice you just get on with it.
