Number 81! The days are getting longer, and we're looking forward to shedding a few layers for Spring, while remaining stylish of course. If you love talking fashion and new buys, come on in, all welcome! Gin Wine Brew

Thanks for the support ladies-I gave myself a stern talking to this morning & am too busy today to spend time searching face lifts, Botox etc etc which is how I spent last night Grin

Still going to counter-surf the beauty dept in JL though!

There was a very similar Coach bag in the sale a few weeks ago, don't know if it's still there. I was tempted but have a number of bags in that style.

FedupNagging · 27/02/2018 16:13

Mara I've long known that reviews in magazines etc are not necessarily unbiased but really only twigged in the last year or so that it is the same for blogs. It makes me more cynical when I'm looking for reviews.

I'm sure you looked fab in your dress but know exactly where you're coming from.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 27/02/2018 17:05

That's a great article Mara, thanks!

well, one bin bag of clothes has already gone to the charity shop and Ive a laundry basket that's almost full to get to them as well. Few more things to go through that I think I'm probably going to get rid of. Admittedly, we have much more storage after having moved into this bigger room but I don't want to use that as an excuse to buy a load more new clothes, I'm trying really hard to only buy what I absolutely need and make better use of all the stuff i already have. I have identified that I do need new pjs and new tights but that's all i genuinely need right now. I do feel better for not constantly spending on clothes, it's stopped me feeling so overwhelmed by it all and it's freed up money for other fun things that if i was still spending the same on clothes, i wouldn't be able to afford to do. I also cleared out a huge bag full of make up which i'm going to take up for my sister. Again, I feel so much less overwhelmed by it and I actually feel like wearing it more often because i'm not stood in front of bag after bag getting upset because I have no idea where to start with it all

Shop how is your DF? I hope he's doing better and you are getting what rest you can Thanks

DryWhiteagainW · 27/02/2018 20:53

Awww you lot. Thanks xx

Fedup I agree with what everyone has said about unflattering passport photos.....a bit similar to my hideous lit magnifying missor from hell. I think as w e. Age. Perhaps we are more sensitive to looking older . I also think the no smiling passport photo make. S even my b eautiful DD look ho r rifle. Our faces have life and i generally go by the premise that if my face. Stays still or serious for to long I look like a frowning, grumpy old woman. He se I talk continually and smile as much as possible. AND i update. My foundation every few years; they get lighter and lighter coverage wise.
Sorry, ramble over, hope it made some sense.

DryWhiteagainW · 27/02/2018 20:55

Good grief.....I’m trying out varifocals. New glasses, occasional wearing of contacts, phone that sabotages all my posts....there’s NO hope! Grin

DryWhiteagainW · 27/02/2018 20:56

And, gosh, it’s chilly isn’t it?

MoorMummy · 27/02/2018 21:07

As always I value your opinions. I’m full of intention to buy bright spring like clothes, but I only like pared back plain stuff when it comes down to it.

I’ve fallen in love with this jacket at Zara, I’d style it exactly like this but after trying it in I think I could make it work a few different ways. AIBU to buy yet another black jacket? It was beautiful quality, whereas I find Zara a bit hit and miss in that respect.

DryWhiteagainW · 27/02/2018 21:16

Moormummy hello!
Well, I love that style and worn as in the picture. I have a few coat like that and I find it’s such a versatile style that can look really smart and casual too. I had my eye on a lighter weight one like that in red but it’s sold out. I think you’d get lots of wear from it. I’d buy it.

But.......is it different enough from your other black jacket/coats ?

MoorMummy · 27/02/2018 21:24

Drywhite yes’s it’s longer , I’ve a similar Jigsaw one, the Marais which is lovely but a bit shorter. But this was abolsutely gorgeous. I’m quite a classic dresser so tend to live in leather leggings, skinnies heels and jackets

I’ve been reading the posts about maternity wear and taking back to my own pregnancy in 1998, The band All Saints were very popular and a couple were pregnant as was Victoria Beckham. I copied their look and rocked tight tops and shift dresses and a croc pvc Mac over the top 😂😂 Dear God I can only blame baby brain .......

DryWhiteagainW · 27/02/2018 22:05

Don’t worry Moor I was pregnant at the same time as you. Posh was my style guru Shock.....I had maternity pleather trousers Shock

MoorMummy · 27/02/2018 22:08

Dry 😂 remember her being in TOTP singing Mama wearing a black shift dress with a bump, thought she looked amazing ! Still to be fair I still think she looks great now.

libertyonhertravels · 27/02/2018 22:11

Your description of your pregnancy style sounds hilarious Moormummy. That jacket is lovely and sounds perfect for your style - go for it.

Blair a friend of mine who was a few sizes bigger than me loaned me clothes to try when I was pregnant but they just didn't work as while your hips, tummy, boobs etc get bigger, your arms will still be slim and your shoulders don't change in size etc so often sizing up is just unflattering. That article Mara linked is great. The 'oh, I didn't need any new clothes apart from some jeans' trend is quite disturbing. There is a person growing inside you!! It will be obvious from the outside not to mention things like blood volume increase and amniotic fluid.

If I was pregnant again I would buy 2/3 of the loveliest maternity dresses I could afford for work and wear them to death.

DryWhiteagainW · 27/02/2018 22:13

I like this jacket a lot.....would look nice with jeans and my new trainers for spring

MoorMummy · 27/02/2018 22:18

Liberty , by the end all I had was a voluminous black pinafore which I used to struggle to put on my tights under, hence pitched up at hospital in labour four weeks earlier than due date, wearing said pinafore with white hairy legs ( it was November for Gods sake). Not exactly the serene stylish delivery I had planned for months, but DS was born small but well, thanks be to God, so I can’t complain 😀

I’m buying that coat tomorrow , thanks for the feedback.

MoorMummy · 27/02/2018 22:18

Dry I love that too!

DryWhiteagainW · 27/02/2018 22:57

Moor we need to know a bit more about your style. I’m classic too, erring occasionally on the “gamine” Grin.

DryWhiteagainW · 27/02/2018 22:59

these would be nice with jeans

DryWhiteagainW · 27/02/2018 22:59

Not is snow obv

DryWhiteagainW · 27/02/2018 23:04

A pair of little furry animals for your feet perhaps ? only £900!

DryWhiteagainW · 27/02/2018 23:05

I’d love a pair of these

MarshaBradyo · 28/02/2018 07:15

Oh my gosh it is so pretty outside! Pinkish warm light and the heavy snow

Love it, still get excited

Not sure if the dc have to go to school however! Waiting for emails

MoorMummy · 28/02/2018 07:19

Dry, my ‘go to’ brand is mainly Baukjen, though this seasons offferings arent really doing it for me yet. As I said outside of work I like leather skirts and leather look leggings, skinnies and heels/ boots. I try to like And other Stories but then something puts me off their stuff, maybe it just looks better on other people? I’ve a fancy for a nice white shirt at the moment. Oh and I like Jaeger as well.

MarshaBradyo · 28/02/2018 07:22

Go for it Moor and welcome Smile

QueenCapri · 28/02/2018 08:10

Morning. Only a very light smattering if snow here but it’s expected tomorrow/Friday here. I’m in my sick bed with dd so expect links later!
