Botox for '11' lines

DavetheCat2001 · 16/01/2018 09:33

Has anyone had this done?

Were you happy with the results, and did you have any problems with it?

How long does it last approx?

Apologies if this has been discussed many times before, but I am in a bit of a rush today. My frown lines are really getting me down (pardon the pun!), and making me look loads older than I am.

Just thinking about it at the moment, so would really appreciate any stories/thoughts good and bad!

Following. I'm considering having mine done. My forehead is pretty unlined but my 11's are noticeable.

CrispyAubergine · 20/01/2018 13:24

Do it fintress you won’t regret it !!

Aridane · 20/01/2018 13:52

his - yes, I have - it looked natural and got rid of bitchy resting face. This time round I got cheek fillers to lift the area from above, rather than fill it in, if you see what I mean

HisBetterHalf · 20/01/2018 16:53

I'm so tempted

pearlkent · 20/01/2018 17:05

Back on the subject of 11 lines - is this classed as "one area"? How much should just this area cost? How do I ask for "baby botox" and what is the difference anyway? Is it just a smaller amount?
Has anyone had any problem of drooping brows after botoxing the 11 lines? I'm worried about everything collapsing down onto my eyelids once the muscle is relaxed.
Also, those who've also had horizontal brow lines done - how does this improve texture/blemishes etc? People are saying they now have smooth unblemished skin after botox, but I don't understand how it can improve skin texture? Thought it just paralysed muscles?
Sorry for all the questions, but I really want to take the take the plunge, just so nervous!

Aridane · 20/01/2018 17:36

You may find you need more than one area to balance things out

Personally don’t think it improves blemishes- why would it? - but skin is smoother so texture looks better

No idea what baby Botox is !

Keebeeo · 20/01/2018 22:22

Recently I had 3 areas done -11s, forehead (horizontal lines) and 'laughter lines'. Amazing. Forehead now smooth, can still raise eyebrows. 11s was preventative and nothing there now. Eyes, still have lines but not as bad. Really worth it. It's a natural effect, no-one else has noticed. However, I'm so much happier seeing my face close up. Cost 300 for all areas. Will be going back in 3-4 months.

BifsWif · 20/01/2018 22:30

Had mine done in December! It took around a week to see the full results but I am absolutely converted and have already booked again for later in the year.

FruitCider · 21/01/2018 13:19

The corrugators (muscles that create 11s) depress the eyebrows so it may cause a brow lift rather than a droop. Eyebrow droop is generally only a problem if the frontalis (forehead) is treated on its own and the client has heavily hooded eye lids to begin with.

pearlkent · 21/01/2018 13:28

Thanks fruit that's really reassuring. I've already had an upper bleph and am on the verge of booking botox for the 11s (actually more like a 1 rather than 11). Will probably go with the plastic surgeon who did the bleph but he wants £270 just for that area. I feel safe with him though, even though I'm sure I could get it cheaper elsewhere.

FruitCider · 21/01/2018 13:38

£270 Shock this is how much 50 units costs, he will only be using half of that and won’t have to waste the other half because it is a doctor so can hold stock. So the botox is costing them £42. I would feel extremely grabby charging that much...

I had my 11s done in September and wish I'd done it sooner, amazing results and I had quite a deep line on one side. It's just about visible again now but not as bad as before (I was meant to get another treatment this month but am pregnant so have to wait until after I give birth - does anyone know if you can have it while breastfeeding? It doesn't go into your bloodstream just the muscle so should be okay?)

TheGrumpySquirrel · 21/01/2018 13:44

Btw I went to Melior clinic on Harley street I think it was £195 for 1 area. Recommended by a 50yr old friend who looks amazing and very natural.

pearlkent · 21/01/2018 13:48

Oh dear Shock - don't know what to think now. Noticed on another botox post that you are an aesthetic nurse, so how much wou;d you charge just for the 11s? And where are you based Grin?
Is all botox the same (brands, strength etc)? Would all practitioners use the same amount for 11s (and if so how many units would that be)?
I'm torn between paying more for a 'proper' doctor/surgeon for 'safety' (and possibly getting ripped off for the privilege) or going to a well-trained nurse/dentist etc.
Is there much that can go wrong with injecting just that area? How much of it is art (aesthetics) v anatomy knowledge?

confusedhelpme · 21/01/2018 13:50

Do it! I love it ☺️☺️

FruitCider · 21/01/2018 13:57

I charge £140-£180 for corrugators and procerus (11s) depending on city. Im not the most expensive but have a steady flow of clients. Yesterday I saw 5 clients for 1ml lip fillers each. I charge £200 a syringe which is competitively priced, for example. I made £450 for 5 hours work. A good tip for finding a practitioner is to search for #botoxyourcity on instagram. I won’t give you my details because I don’t want to be seen as advertising on here. I just want to open up the conversation about safe treatment - I offer a referral service to the public, if I can’t meet a clients needs I refer them to someone on the BACN or save face register to ensure they have safe and effective treatment outcomes.

Different toxins have different doses. For example a standard dose of Azzalure is 160 units for 3 areas, 240 units for men.

FruitCider · 21/01/2018 13:58

Oh and a standard dose of botox for 11s is 20 units.

pearlkent · 21/01/2018 14:08

Thanks for the excellent advice fruit. You sound very ethical. I will do a bit more research on where to go. I'm in London so am probably going to be 'overcharged' regardless.

Bratsandtwats · 21/01/2018 14:33

Really they should discard the bottle after using on one person. I'd be very concerned about their standards if they didn't.

FruitCider · 21/01/2018 14:59

It’s well known that doctors are allowed to hold botulinum toxins on a stock basis, therefore they are administering treatment from stock and not on a patient named basis. Nurses and paramedics cannot hold stock ever, so a prescription is required for each patient to order toxins on a patient named basis. Hence the rest of the vial MUST be discarded.

Bratsandtwats · 21/01/2018 19:41

Our surgeons use botox for bladders and always discard any remainder despite us jokingly asking if we can have the leftover for our wrinkles.

athingthateveryoneneeds · 21/01/2018 20:00

Do created not work, then? I'm 37 this year and have been noticing my age in the.mirror more and more. I only have a '1' not '11' (yet) and large bags under my eyes that are masked by glasses but still add to the general overtired look!

So i had tear trough fillers on Friday lunchtime - shhh, its a secret and I am so so pleased with the result, no bruising, teeny tiny bit of swelling on one eye and it didn't hurt at all. I am so going back for botox on my crowsfeet.

I should mention that I went to a doctor with many years experience in this area.

FruitCider · 21/01/2018 21:01

Essex I must admit with the risks of tear trough treatments I do think that should be carried out by a dentist/doctor. I don’t think it’s ever an area I’ll train in!
