Hello,

Some of you may already receive our weekly Swears By newsletter, which is a round-up of products that Mumsnetters have been recommending to each other, but we thought we'd also collate them here.

You can take a look at your best buys of 2017 here and last month's Swears By thread here.

If you want to be first to know about the next cult product, you can sign up to the newsletter here and you can also check out the Swears By page here.

Mumsnet Swears By is free and independent from advertising but if you buy something through our posts, we may get a small share of the sale. You can find out more here.

Here’s what MNers have been swearing by this month:

Babyliss Big Hair Rotating Hot Air Styling Brush, £41.99 (was £45)

An easy-to-use brush for smooth, voluminous hair

"Babyliss big hair is AMAZING. I love it. I look like I’ve had a salon blow dry – achieved at home on a Wednesday morning with two small children under my feet." Longhairmightcare

Lady I'm definitely in agreement with cutting corners when cooking, but aren't Aunt Bessies the really cheap, floury ones?

You've not linked the trousers on this weeks swears by Alice. Anyway they only go up to a 14 Hmm

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 13/01/2018 19:43

I'd rather try my luck in /Feminism or /Vegan

You can be a vegan curious feminist and still like to beautify yourself !

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/01/2018 22:20

Ooh I'm famous! It's an excellent skirt - have worn it loads.

Ollivander84 · 14/01/2018 18:35

Remus - I have ordered it! Never had anything from there before so hoping it fits

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/01/2018 19:48

Hope you like it, Ollivander.

Ollivander84 · 14/01/2018 20:00

Thanks, it's for my new job! Ordered some shoes too, have tops and now need to find some trousers

Juturna · 15/01/2018 10:07

Quick question, please , about the Hush skirt. I've never bought from there but love the recommended skirt, is an 8 an XS or an S?

TIA

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/01/2018 18:17

Good luck re the job, Ollivander.

Re sizing - I'm a 12/14 and have a medium, so think 8 probably XS. If you ask on the Hush thread, you'll probably get more useful answers!

AliceDMumsnet · 16/01/2018 17:28

Hi @Rach5l,

We haven't been including the 'What MNers have been buying section' in the thread so far, but we can do so in future if people are interested.

Here's the link to the trousers, they're currently available up to size 16.

I have ordered Remus' skirt too !

Ollivander84 · 17/01/2018 10:37

My Hush skirt has arrived and is lovely! Tiny bit big on my waist but a size smaller would be too tight over the hips - I'm an hourglass so story of my life! Nice soft fabric too

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/01/2018 18:27

Glad you like it, Ollivander. I'm waiting for a discount to buy another one!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/01/2018 18:27

Day - Hope you like it.

bingohandjob · 19/01/2018 04:14

In interest of full disclosure, I do absolutely rate and love Glossier's Boy Brow, but I'm sure I also mentioned how expensive I thought it was for such a tiny tube of product!

thesaurusgirl · 19/01/2018 15:57

Not stylish nor beautiful, but my favourite buy of the year last year was trainer socks at Muji. Really good quality cotton that doesn't leave your feet all sweaty, and a sensible shape that is barely visible under trainers but never slips off unintentionally.

Very expensive but I have also had fantastic cost per wear from my pewter metallic Ash Vigins. They make every boring jeans-and-jumper outfit look a bit more current.

I saw Hush for the first time in Peter Jones this year and nearly PMSL. Appalling quality for the price, especially the jumpers - I've had better at Uniqlo for a third of the price tag.

BanyanTree · 20/01/2018 18:51

I looked at the reviews for Dior Nail Glow but I don't understand what it is. One coat French Mani? How does that work?

AliceDMumsnet · 22/01/2018 10:50

@BanyanTree it's supposed to make the pink bit of your nail look pinker and the tips whiter - not sure of the exact magic science behind it, though!
