Hello,

Some of you may already receive our weekly Swears By newsletter, which is a round-up of products that Mumsnetters have been recommending to each other, but we thought we'd also collate them here.

You can take a look at your best buys of 2017 here and last month's Swears By thread here.

If you want to be first to know about the next cult product, you can sign up to the newsletter here and you can also check out the Swears By page here.

Mumsnet Swears By is free and independent from advertising but if you buy something through our posts, we may get a small share of the sale. You can find out more here.

Here’s what MNers have been swearing by this month:

Babyliss Big Hair Rotating Hot Air Styling Brush, £41.99 (was £45)

An easy-to-use brush for smooth, voluminous hair

"Babyliss big hair is AMAZING. I love it. I look like I’ve had a salon blow dry – achieved at home on a Wednesday morning with two small children under my feet." Longhairmightcare

Essie Gel Couture Nail Varnish, £9.99

The perfect polish for a DIY gel manicure

“I have recently discovered Essie Gel Couture nail polish which is INCREDIBLE. If you use it with their Gel Setter top coat, you can't actually distinguish between that and salon gel nails.” Somebodythinkofthechildren

And this is what MNers were buying last week:

A flattering dress which manages to combine comfort with a structured shape - the thick, but stretchy, ponte material allows for a nipped-in waist that is still comfy to wear all day.

The nail glow stuff is nice... but it's basically a very pricey pinky clear nail polish. I bought it after seeing it recommended on here.

Rach5l · 25/01/2018 22:27

The ordinary stuff in this weeks swears by... postage is only 91p less than the product Shock

AliceDMumsnet · 26/01/2018 11:28

The Ordinary Alpha Lipoic Acid 5%, £6

A potent antioxidant that restores and renews skin, improving texture and tone

“I've just started with the Alpha Lipoic Acid and it is unbelievable. Immediate difference overnight. I can't tell you how much better my skin is looking.” LuckingFovely

@Rach5l we've found it in stock on Cult Beauty where shipping is £3.95, or free if you spend £15+ - that's the cheapest we've been able to find so far, but we'll keep our eyes peeled

Maybelline Tattoo Brow Longlasting Tint, £10

A peel-off brow tint - leave it on overnight for fuller brows

"There's a cool Maybelline product that you paint on and let dry before peeling it off. It tints the skin and the hair so you can get a shape you like. It looks alarming when on but looks really good once you peel it off. Also mine lasts about three days." GingerRogers84

Thanks @AliceDMumsnet
What else in that range is good so I could make it up to £15?

AliceDMumsnet · 01/02/2018 09:51

@Rach5l at the moment House of Fraser is actually your best bet - it's £6 on their website but they are offering free next day delivery until midnight today!

EachandEveryone · 01/02/2018 10:29

I dont think that Boden dress would be that flattering would it?

Rach5l · 01/02/2018 20:22

Thank you @AliceDMumsnet ordered. This is like having a personal shopper Grin

EggsonHeads · 01/02/2018 21:53

But are aunt Bessie's potatoes even made with goose fat?

*I don't actually know why goose fat is important but the ready made Waitrose potatoes I had the other day had it emblazoned prominently across the front of the bag. Must be important Hmm

Dilligaf81 · 02/02/2018 09:09

I bought the ordinary stuff and primer off amazon. I have prime but the postage was reasonable for those without. Been using the acid for 5 days and I love it, used the primer once and felt nice and light and foundation looked good over it.
