Colour’s not really me but it is a very nice thing to start off with.

RJnomore1 · 01/12/2017 08:45

Oh wow what a great start and the colour is ideal for my skintone.

missfliss · 01/12/2017 09:32

Shocked at ladyofthecanyon but thanks for the spoiler-free review! I'm going to try today's gift later and post a piccie. It looks like a lovely colour in the tube.

Welcome to all the new joiners ! GlitterballGlitterballGlitterballGlitterball

Agreed, a strong start even though not for me. Lovely consistency and staying power. Would deffo buy the brand on back of it (so the calendar is doing its commercial job!).

missfliss · 01/12/2017 09:42

By the way ( and I hope this is helpful) anything that goes unused or only slightly used you could sell on Depop.

I hadn't realised until recently that you can't sell on opened cosmetic stuff on eBay when I tried to sell a barely used Urban Decay Naked 2 eyeshadow palette. A thread on here alerted me to Depop and I sold it there.

I LOVE the first gift! Am rocking it today!

snowflakestar · 01/12/2017 10:03

Joining in!

The colour isn't really me and mine isn't very marbled - it's very red at the top and there's a large band of white much further down - which might have helped to tone it down, however it's a lovely lipstick and the staying power is amazing.

GrumpyOldFucker · 01/12/2017 10:58

Cost £20 from their online shop I see, so this calendar is going to be amazing value for money.

Not my usual colour either, but this is why I do advent calendars - get out of my comfort zone.

missfliss · 01/12/2017 11:57

Hope no one here knows me in real life. If you do, please be kind...!

I really really like this lipstick. I think it'll be my everyday one. I'm wearing a lot of grey today and a, very pale, it adds just a nice amount of warmth to lift an otherwise dull outfit.

The texture is great. Big thumbs up from me.

I think this is a god representation of the colour, there's no filter and it's taken in a northerly light.

Looks great on you missfliss. It is a very good quality lippy.

Annabelle4 · 01/12/2017 13:20

Beautiful on you missfliss. It really suits you.

Paperdove87 · 01/12/2017 13:41

Looks lovely on you! I really liked the shade on me and it's definitely different to colours I'd normally buy. Calendar is looking good at the moment!

caggie09 · 01/12/2017 13:52

It really suits you! You look lovelySmile

GrumpyOldFucker · 01/12/2017 15:01

Looks fab, @missfliss!

missfliss · 01/12/2017 15:50

Thankyou I like it too! I wouldn't normally have picked it so big thumbs up from most people for Day 1 Smile

Can I join? Smile

I’ve opened today’s box and it is lovely. I tested it on my hand this morning and I’ve had my nails done, cleaned, put up a Christmas tree, washed my hands a lot etc and it is still there!

Looking forward to day 2

missfliss · 01/12/2017 15:55

Of course you can join and welcome!

I do apologise for my feral behaviour in pre opening but to be fair I watched an unboxing video on YouTube before I bought one so there wasn't much in the way of surprises -but I thought the value offered ( LOADS of full size products, and in brands I liked) made it seem a no brainier.

I repackaged it for my mum with all manner of ( beauty and non beauty) treats in it and she texted this morning saying " Oooo! Lovely nail polish!" So I'm hoping I get an update every day ( as I've forgotten what I put in there )

I love reading all the advent threads though. Listening to people's ( mostly) pure pleasure at these daily little mood lifters is brilliant!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 01/12/2017 17:06

Missfliss apologies, meant to add you look gorgeous!

GrumpyOldFucker · 01/12/2017 17:51

About spoilers, on the Liberty thread they're saying it's ok to discuss on the day itself, but not before. Sounds reasonable to me - just don't look on this thread until you've opened?

kmmr · 01/12/2017 17:58

Can i join! I love the lippy and it's a lovely color on me. I don't know the brand, but was really impressed with the quality and the price when I looked it up.
I'm in Australia so I get to open it sooner than you! It's Saturday here already (although stupidly early, thanks 3 year old! )

DuncanDonut · 01/12/2017 17:59

So pleased I’ve got this calendar this year - I had the same make two years ago, and loved it. Last year I had a selfridges one (not the one that everyone else seemed to have though), and it was awful - hand sanitiser!!

I like the lipstick, but it doesn’t seem too long lasting on me. Non ever do though😞

SilkandSteel · 01/12/2017 18:02

I don't have the calendar but the lipstick looks lovely, do you mind me asking what brand and shade it is?

GrumpyOldFucker · 01/12/2017 18:07

It's this one - www.illamasqua.com/lava-lipstick/11551220.html

Jaimx86 · 01/12/2017 18:20

It's a lot pinkier on me - could that be because of the 'lava' swirls?
