Does anyone fancy a thread to discuss the products as we open the drawers? Quite a few people seem to have it this year from what I've seen on here.

They sold out online in 36 hours this year Shock

chloechloe · 01/12/2017 12:11

I actually had a half used bottle of this at home which I got out the other day after peeking into day 1. It's surprisingly good - gives good volume but without weighing hair down.

MotherofTerriers · 01/12/2017 13:24

Hmm, I wasn't too excited with it, but it's not something I've tried before so I'll give it a go

Piccolino2 · 01/12/2017 14:07

I’m loving it already! I use the thickening tonic so excited to try this one. So glad I splurged already.

Dozyoldtwonk · 01/12/2017 16:16

Loving day 1 - it’s just as nice as my usual texture spray (which kind of does the same job), so I won’t have to re-purchase for a while.

I have to say, yes it was a lot of money for an advent calendar - but it’s very well put together, great quality as you’d expect and I’ll reuse the boxes next year for a homemade calendar for the DC. Winning all round.

Day one is never very exciting in my humble experience Grin

Pippin8 · 01/12/2017 18:09

My day one was not a hair product 😳

Aridane · 01/12/2017 18:13

So what actually was the day1 product?

peanutbutter310 · 01/12/2017 18:42

I don't usually use something like this in my hair, but willing to give it a try and I know just the person to pass it along to if it's not for me.

Already excited for opening day 2 tomorrow Grin

Clickncollect · 01/12/2017 19:42

Pretty happy with day one - volumizing tonic is not something I've tried before so I could certainly do with it! Will make an effort to wash my hair tomorrow....
That's what I like about the advent calendar - a mix of different products across a variety of brands. Some that I already use and others I haven't tried so takes me out of my comfort zone.

chloechloe · 01/12/2017 20:30

What did you get pippin I'm intrigued!?

aridane Day 1 was an Aveda volumising tonic.

Pippin8 · 01/12/2017 20:37

I got Brazilian Bum Bum cream. It smells divine & it so lovely I slapped it on everywhere. I also googled it & it retails at £22.

ABuckToothedGirlinLuxembourg · 01/12/2017 20:48

I’m happy with the volumising tonic, although would have been happier if I’d not seen it all over social media before I’d opened it.

BluebellGal · 01/12/2017 21:02

I opened box 1 with wet hair and was able to immediately use the Avesta spray. It certainly created volume but wouldn’t say it gave me high shine. I don’t use anything in my hair but I liked this. My hair looks better this evening (more volume) than normal. I’ve suffered with thinning hair since having a child (hormones Hmm) so I’m happy. Will probably use for nights out and special days at work

BluebellGal · 01/12/2017 21:03

Avesta?! Aveda obvs

BluebellGal · 01/12/2017 21:03

Also it hasn’t irritated my scalp (like many styling products do)

HLBug · 02/12/2017 07:55

I’ve a bit meh about today - the smell is not agreeing with me one bit!! Just used it in the shower and my skin is softer though - I seem to remember DH using this last year more than me. Meh.

caggie09 · 02/12/2017 08:18

Im happy with day 2, ive never used a powder scrub so im willing to give it agoGrin

cedoren · 02/12/2017 08:25

Today's a bit boring

OP posts:
LadyLapsang · 02/12/2017 08:42

Day 2. I've found Dermalogica's other exfoliants rather harsh for my skin but haven't tried this one. Will give it a try and pass it on to DS if it's not right for me.

Stitchosaurus · 02/12/2017 08:45

I've still got some left from last year's calendar of today's offering! Although I see it is now anti-aging. I quite like it as a face wash, will have to make more of an effort to actually use it up this time.

onemouseplace · 02/12/2017 09:21

Day 2 - this was in last years box as well, which I think is a bit poor from them - yes, use the same brands but at least mix the products up a bit! Having said that, I don't mind it and will use it up.

onemouseplace · 02/12/2017 09:38

Actually, I am being a bit thick as it's Superfoliant this year and it was Microfoliant last year, wasn't it? So not exactly the same product, but near enough to make me think it was!

LavenderHills · 02/12/2017 09:41

I'm actually excited about today's product!
I regularly use Dermalogica's Microfoliant, so I'll be keen to try the Superfoliant. I haven't used a charcoal product before; has anyone else? If it works better I'll switch over permanently.

BluebellGal · 02/12/2017 10:04

I’m really pleased with today’s superfolient. At first I thought it was Tony - only 13g- bit you don’t need very much to get it to foam up in your hand so it’s going to last me ages
