Marsha long may the peace last indeed. You sound very chilled Smile

Longislandicetee · 18/01/2018 22:05

Dry, ....I wore Karen Millen striped dress with my grey lowland boots today. I have been attached to my red Nancy bag for weeks so keep thinking of you Grin

DryWhiteagainW · 18/01/2018 22:24

Gosh I can’t wait to get my ankles out. Well into boot weather with snow here today.......

Nice outfit Blingy

Everyonelovessparkles · 19/01/2018 09:29

Nice dress blingy.

A lovely sunny frosty morning here today. My parents are staying so I’m making the most of available child care and am lounging about in bed perusing the internet Smile. Off to get my hair cut later, it’s in dire need of a good trim.

Any advice re washing cashmere. Both my pairs of cashmere joggers are a little bit large so could do with some gentle shrinkage. Am I better washing on a wool or delicates cycle in the machine? Or even if they don’t shrink, which option is generally better for washing them? TIA Flowers

Longislandicetee · 19/01/2018 10:19

Thanks Dry and Everyone

Today’s outfit are pjs as I am working from home and still in bed Grin

Everyone I don’t wash my cashmere I dry clean it all. However, the one time something accidentally went into the washing pile instead of the dry cleaning pile it shrank because it went into a 40 degree wash so that would be my advice.

Dry I am too busy enjoying my cold weather stuff to wish for warmer weather. I am quite surprised at myself but I think it’s the first time I have ever enjoyed work clothes, casual and going out clothes all in one season and feel like I am getting it right most days. It’s only taken me 5 years on this board 😂. Anyway I can’t change seasons now as i might not look as good in Spring. Grin

One thing I haven’t cracked is nail polish but I bought one of the uv box light things on sale last week.

AmberNectarine · 20/01/2018 00:10

everyone I do mine on a handwash cycle and dry flat on the heated airer

libertyonhertravels · 20/01/2018 00:37

Re washing cashmere i do same as amber and always use woolite or similar.

Am in very hot wine country ATM. Interesting looking at who looks good in the heat. The young and slim look fab in short jersey shorts and simple t shirts with plimsolls or Gigi style sandals or simple t shirt dresses either plain pale colours or stripes. Some not so young and slim folk looking amazing in kaftan style tops over shorts or longer line kaftans. Earrings, Panama hats and sunnies essential. Am taking notes!!!

DryWhiteagainW · 20/01/2018 08:45

Keep us posted Liberty very hot weather dressing is a nightmare.

DryWhiteagainW · 20/01/2018 08:46

Oh I managed to go to work with only one contact lense in yesterday....thought my eyesight was deteriorating rapidly Shock ...idiot

Longislandicetee · 20/01/2018 12:26

Oh no Dry sounds like the kind of thing I would do! Hope your eye is okay.

Sounds glorious Lib! Let's just say the weather is nothing to write about today.Grin

I had the most wonderful evening last night. Ds has taken an interest in the night sky so when he got home from school we watched a couple of you tube videos for kids to tell us how to work out the constellations and then went out in the garden with his star chart and an app that I downloaded. Dh came home and got the fire going outside so we had toasted marshmallows and hot chocolate while we looked at and talked about Orion the hunter and Taurus the bull. Such fun. Smile

shopafrolic · 20/01/2018 14:21

Oooooh what's the app Blingy? Sounds good.
Big do is tonight. Really not the weather for suede shoeboots!

Have a great tine Shop sure you will in your ace outfit

Longislandicetee · 20/01/2018 17:35

Oooh how exciting Shop. I have no plans tonight so shall be waiting for a picture Grin sad but true

The app is called Star Chart. GPS gets your location then when you point it at the sky it tells you what star you looking at. It's so good!

libertyonhertravels · 20/01/2018 19:34

That app sounds great blingy. What a lovely night.

kittyhello · 21/01/2018 10:49

Shop hope you had a wonderful time last night, bet you looked fantastic. Great outfit combo.

Dry have you bought your grey boots yet? Saw some great ones in M&S, looked much more expensive than they costt*

I got my coat, whoop whoop, after hourly daily stalking it came back in stock in my size. I love it Burberry coatt* it's an everyday coat which I'm not keeping for best.

Sorry been a bit AWOL just had a massive read back, whilst glimpsing at dc doing karate. Am thinking about your dilemma Lib and am pondering your fashionable/flattering question Dry

Everyonelovessparkles · 21/01/2018 12:12

Hope you had a great time last night shop. I’m sure you looked fab. Any other outfits worth a mention?

Your evening sounds lovely blingy. DD is just starting to get interested (and able to understand) more things and it’s lovely teaching her stuff.

Had a nice evening on Friday with DH. Given the weather I just reverted to the favourite winter going out outfit of leather skirt and my Karen Millen colour block polo with the lkb black suede ankle boots. There wasn’t much of the Lumiere festival on south bank in the end. Had a family party yesterday. Wore my tan suede skirt and cream polo neck. Hosting is quite tiring, especially when your dishwasher is broken Shock, so just taking it easy today. Given the miserable weather I have no desire to go out. Just lounging about in my cashmere joggers Smile. Thanks for the washing tips. Will give it a go this week.

Everyonelovessparkles · 21/01/2018 12:13

Gorgeous coat kitty, definitely one to wear and enjoy!

MarshaBradyo · 21/01/2018 18:03

Kitty that coat is beautiful! Well played

Everyone fab outfit

Just saw on insta Heidi Slimane is now CD at Celine. Loved Saint Laurent when he was there, wonder what he’ll do - hopefully keep the essence

Longislandicetee · 21/01/2018 18:39

I agree with the Marsha, that coat is absolutely glorious Kitty and i just love the sound of your outfit Everyone💕

Very quiet family day, mostly at home today. We graduated from Cluedo Junior to Cluedo today and i don't think dh is patient enough for the big leaguesBlush

We have the decorators coming to meet us this week to begin round 3, which will finally finish the decoration of the house so we have been picking out wallpapers. Also last year, i wanted a play area in our garden which dh talked me out of, but it's back on again so we need to pick out what we want. We are actually going to go ahead and have a den built. Dh was really excited when i told him we have dengineers coming next weeek. Hope he isn't expecting Mark WrightGrin

On a fashion front, this skiing holiday is going to cost an absolute fortune. And i am convinced i will give up after one day.Grin There's a great thread i am on where another novice has asked for ski clothes tips but if anyone here has any ski clothing tips i would be very grateful. Thanks

VivaVegas · 21/01/2018 22:35

Lovely coat Kitty.
Blingy we ski and have done for years and it is a very expensive holiday, and not a relaxing one, particularly with children. But I love it, the mountains are beautiful, fresh air, lovely being outdoors and active and nice to sit in the sun (weather permitting) eating and drinking. In my 20s I could party all night and still ski all day, now happy to chill with some nice wine and food in the evening!
Clothes wise other than ski specific things you need to buy (trousers, ski gloves) most things can be used anyway. For me I don't mind spending a bit more so have a lovely ski jacket but also use this for winter walks etc when it's really cold. Same goes for base layers, none of mine are specific ski ones ( as that always puts the price up) and get worn when out and it's cold here too, and I just layer one with a normal tshirt over the top and then my ski jacket. The DCs tend to need new stuff every other year so I buy cheaper brands but again they use their jackets as their non school coat during winter and base layers have been handy for cub camps, cold days out etc.
I'd never recommend buying kit (boots, skis etc) unless you know you're going to keep going but I would recommend your own helmet, nothing worse than hiring one that has had lots of other sweaty heads in it! Where are you going?
Cold and a bit snowy here, but not quite the same!

libertyonhertravels · 21/01/2018 22:45

Gorgeous coat kitty enjoy!

I am currently sat beside a river supervising 8 kids swimming Shock. Great fun.

kittyhello · 22/01/2018 07:34

Thanks everyone for the coat love. It makes me smile when I wear it.

Lib when will you next wear a coat? Envy Very envious at your glorious weather. Have you thought more about your dilemma? Did you move to get away from the life you had in the UK, ie hectic city life and fancy down shifting a gear or 2. Or are you a city girl at heart and enjoys the buzz of city life despite it coming at a cost? A toughie. Maybe fate will play a hand.

libertyonhertravels · 22/01/2018 07:39

No idea when I'll next wear a coat kitty maybe April?

Re my dilemma, I think the out of Auckland option would be great. So I am going for the job there but keeping up applications for jobs in Auckland too and see how it evolves. DH has just got a school hours job in Auckland which is great so will have to factor that in too when it comes to decision time. Have decided to be grateful to have such great options!!

Everyonelovessparkles · 22/01/2018 10:10

Sounds like a good plan, lib, re keeping your options open, but as you say, so nice to have the choice!

Just having a look at the new in at matches. So much gorgeous stuff. love this dress and this one. this print is pretty and so is this one.
So much blush, cream and pale blue. The small girl in me loves these Cinderella shoes . I best stop looking now before my credit card gets twitchy Grin.

shopafrolic · 22/01/2018 10:26

Morning all from a hospital waiting room with DF. Routine appointment thankfully.
Kitty what a gorgeous coat and I LOVE the fact that you are going to wear it everyday and not keep for best. Enjoy Smile
The party was good. I had a little pre going out wobble as it’s been years since I’ve done the corporate wife thing but it was lovely. Felt good in the outfit and glad I made the effort as all the wives had dressed to impress. DH’s boss’ wife had a fab YSL bag and I also spotted a great Alexander McQueen clutch. It was on a boat on the Thames which lurched a lot and my heel went between the boards on the deck! Hoping they’ll survive.
