Or something from Missoma or Monica Vinader.

Dreamqueen · 13/01/2018 06:57

Great suggestions Shop & Amber. I've narrowed it down to either these or similar diamond stud earrings over budget but thats ok or the Cult bag that Amber suggested.

Flowers for everyone having to live with man flu men.

That look is lovely Dry and timeless.

I've never shopped on Yoox either. It's far too confusing.

AmberNectarine · 13/01/2018 10:41

I believe mara has the bag dream - she may be able to give you a review?

VivaVegas · 13/01/2018 10:55

Belated new year greetings and huge congrats Marsha.
Have bought a few bits recently but trying to buy things I need that compliment what I already have as opposed to just random sale buys simply because they are reduced which is what I used to do!
Bought these lovely shoes from Stories which I wore to a Christmas wedding but will get worn for going out and smarter days at work.
I also got the All Saints leather jacket that Dreamqueen got.
Finally this fab Whistles tshirt which I got from the Next online sale for £19!
I have a few other Whistles things ordered from Next but none have arrived yet so not overly hopeful.
An holding out for a couple of things from Hush but waiting to see if they do any further reductions.
Off to see Jumanji with the DC now, have heard it's good so hopeful I won't fall asleep Grin

VivaVegas · 13/01/2018 11:14

I can never link anything from Stories!

Good shopping strategy Vegas. They all look like great buys.

Love amber and shop's gift lists.

Shop how are things with you? Have been thinking about you.

And Marsha - hope things are all still good with you and that you aren't too tired.

Am still not shopping. NZ definitely doesn't have a shopping culture and it's rubbing off on me. I'm enjoying dressing for new environment but have no real desire for anything new right now. I read a comment on the 'to universe, with love' blog about 'wearing the shit out of your stuff' and it really resonated with me. So I am wearing nice things every day rather than hanging out in shorts etc on the basis that anything that gets worn out etc well so be it!! I hadn't actually realised how much I tended to not wear things due to fear of wrecking nice things or thinking I'd be overdressed.

VivaVegas · 14/01/2018 09:23

Sounds like you are settling in well Liberty do you have family there or was it the major life change you went for?
I'm guilty of keeping stuff for best, goes back to my childhood when DM insisted that's what we did. I'm trying to get better at wearing things more but it's a hard habit to break and I agree it's the worry of ruining/wearing out something you like whereas in reality surely that's better than it just looking lovely in your wardrobe!

Longislandicetee · 14/01/2018 09:25

Morning! Lovely family evening out last night - early supper and then the theatre. I had been looking forward to it all week, introducing the dcs to one of my favourite productions. I wore this sparkly Armani cardi over Karen Millen sheer jersey top with j crew black skinny jeans. The best bit were the shoes where i went for full on sparkle with these Saint Laurent glitter shoes. You couldn't miss meGrin. I didn't actually do much bling because the outfit was already so over the top so i just wore an aquamarine ring and a couple of Hermes clic clac bracelets.

Dd loves a bit of sparkles herself so she wore a similar jumpsuit to this (her sequins are silver) with a denim jacket and these sequinned ankle boots. She puts all her own stuff together... I wish i had been as cool as dd at her age.Envy

We are having a very relaxed day at home so i might do some browsing for you allWink.

libertyonhertravels · 14/01/2018 09:32

Bit of both Vegas. DH is a kiwi and we have lots of family and friends here but it was more a lifestyle move. So far it's all going well. Just need to get jobs Grin.

Keeping for best is a hard habit to break. I've told myself though that wearing something lovely out is the best excuse ever to justify something fab as a replacement and as I always say here - there are always great things out there!

Love both blingy and miniblingy OOTD!

Longislandicetee · 14/01/2018 09:37

Lib, I completely agree with you. One of my life lessons from my childhood is that you shouldn't save things for best because you only get one crack at this life and why waste it not using the things that you love. If bad times came, you at least want the memories of the good times of using the "best" to look back on. For this reason, our "wedding china", is just what we use every day. It's very liberating to think you can use whatever you want in the kitchen and wear whatever you want from your wardrobe.

Longislandicetee · 14/01/2018 09:40

How is the job search looking Lib?

libertyonhertravels · 14/01/2018 09:49

Ok I think blingy. Everyone is back at work now and I have seen 4 roles advertised this week that I am going to apply for. None of them are 'dream jobs' but reasonable starting points. I've also booked in a couple of coffee catch ups with some contacts over next few weeks so feeling positive.

Longislandicetee · 14/01/2018 10:22

That's good to hear Lib. Fingers crossed for you!

I have some links for Dry. Starting with this one NK Imode silk and lace chemise

Longislandicetee · 14/01/2018 10:27

Heidi Klum chemise. It's jersey but i think it's really pretty.

Palindrome satin chemise - it is polyester, which is what i think you get at this price point. Looks lovely though.

DryWhiteagainW · 14/01/2018 10:32

Blingy I’ll open those links later, thank you.

But wanted to agree with Liberty I save things for best, especially underwear. Someone told me ages ago to not do that so I try to wear most of my stuff day to day (apart from posh dresses and vertiginous heels) . My NYR is to wear my nice undies more and overhaul all of my nightwear/ underwear before I turn into that eladticated waist, grungy old woman Grin

Longislandicetee · 14/01/2018 10:38

Much more expensive but Id sarrieri Colette chemise is lovely but still less expensive than Carine Gilson!Grin

Stella McCartney Clara whispering chemise is different.

I forgot that Figleaves do some nice ones too.

I looked on John Lewis and M&S but nothing inspiring on there.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 14/01/2018 11:56

i am terrible for saving things 'for best' which definitely stems from a past of not having. I am getting better at not hoarding things though, i just cleared out my make up bags and have decided to give over half of what i had to my sister. It had started to feel totally overwhelming and i never wore any because id open the bags and so much stuff would come tumbling out that id end up walking away from it as i had no idea where to start! really need to do the same with my clothes and stop saving things for some mythical best!

DryWhiteagainW · 14/01/2018 13:59

Oooooh Blingy the Sarrieri plum is divine.
Figleaves is lovely and more realistic......thank you xxxx

DryWhiteagainW · 14/01/2018 14:00

And friends I NEED a black knee length panelled a line skirt to do the Parisian white shirt look........

DryWhiteagainW · 14/01/2018 14:10

Think I need these for SS.....Wimbledon Blingy?

DryWhiteagainW · 14/01/2018 14:12

Love this

DryWhiteagainW · 14/01/2018 14:15

cute

DryWhiteagainW · 14/01/2018 14:19

beautiful colour, so simple tres chic, not my style at all.

DryWhiteagainW · 14/01/2018 14:19

Or price Grin

Longislandicetee · 14/01/2018 15:12

I really don't get those sock heel things. I really don't!Confused

But that RedValentino top is lovely! I would pay £255 for that, not sure I would pay £1,500 for the other dress. maybe because it's just too simple. At other end, I don't get this comb, I really don't.Grin
