I like the GINgle bells one!

Did any of you see my thread about pigmentation / laser etc? I have sun damage on my cheeks and even with factor 50 on it's very obvious now after a month in the sun. I used to like the freckles I got in the sun but now it looks like age spots rather than cute freckles. I was wondering if I should just go for it and get it Lasered as the products to treat it are so expensive. But the laser makes me nervous as it can make your skin more sensitive.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 22/11/2017 20:42

Lib I don't know what the cost would be like over there, but have you thought about seeing a dermatologist? When I was prescribed retinoid cream (for acne) it really faded my freckles, was a huge difference. But not sure about how it compares (results wise or cost wise) to laser. Or maybe you can even get retinoids OTC in NZ, like you can in some countries?

I'll see if I can find any pics of how my skin used to look...

justasecond · 22/11/2017 20:45

Just bought the zelens eye cream shop recommended with 30% off using code CHIRONS30 on the Zelens website

Also 25% off Ren at John Lewis

I'm afraid I don't know much about pigmentation treatment Lib other than a beauty therapist once told me that any product that claims to get rid of pigmentation is probably a con. She said that the marks that show on your skin are an accumulation of years of damage sometimes from decades before and there are no quick fixes from products alone.

Love your coat serenite I love that colour atm. Not too sure about wedding breakfast outfit. I think the skirt is quite evening. Jeans and sock boots with maybe a silk shirt tucked in? There are some lovely sock boots in zara atm. I may have ordered some Blush

DryWhiteagainW · 22/11/2017 21:02

Love the gin one Shop

libertyonhertravels · 22/11/2017 21:12

What % retinoid were you on Blair? DH has a couple of creams he bought OTC in the US (that said they are probably OOD!). I am fairly sure it has to be prescribed in NZ. I think I will research dermatologists as the sun is so strong here I need to get on top of it I think.

Justa I think you are right about the damage being years old. I was very careful in the sun from about age 25 onwards but I got badly burned several times as a child so it probably dates from then and is emerging now.

MarshaBradyo · 22/11/2017 21:19

Lib the sun can be lethal in that region. I’m always taken aback when I go home. How’s your dd in the sun?
I always spend my time running around with 50+ bugging the dc
Even worse if it’s cooler / windier than say the Med etc as it can be deceiving. As my latitude isn’t always hot

MarshaBradyo · 22/11/2017 21:21

Serenite what a gorgeous coat

Dream great decisions re the dresses

shopafrolic · 22/11/2017 21:42

Lib use Vitamin C under your factor 50. That helped mine massively. Trinny has a lot of videos about sun exposure and avoiding pigmentation. Microdermabrasion can help too.

shopafrolic · 22/11/2017 21:43

Justa does that code work across all Zelens product. That’s a fab deal. I hope you like the cream.

OP posts:
BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 22/11/2017 21:54

Lib it was 0.05%. It was primarily an acne treatment, but as it made all my skin fall off there was nice fresh skin underneath Grin so you may find that any kind of acid treatment helps, just a bit of exfoliation.

I also use vit c serum now, I use the Skinceuticals 10% one and would recommend it if anyone is thinking of trying one.

justasecond · 22/11/2017 21:54

Yes it should work on all the products shop www.carolinehirons.com/2017/11/zelens-brand-overview-30-offer.html

SELFCCE for 20% off at Selfridges, sadly the item I want is not in the promotion Sad

shopafrolic · 23/11/2017 11:07

That's rubbish Kitty
Everything I have had my eye on seems to be excluded from promos too. Hmm
I nearly got sucked into ordering some Reebok C85s (insta trainer of choice) as they were reduced on the Reebok site by 30% but I'm not sure it's a bit try hard? VB and GH have been pictured wearing them. I think that might be putting me off.......

Everyonelovessparkles · 23/11/2017 12:22

Is anyone else feeling pressurised by the influx of discounts? Every time I log on or go to web page I’m greeted with 30% off, sneak peak at the sale etc and I just keep thinking ‘must buy, it is a bargain’ even though I don’t really need it. But I keep feeling like I’m missing out on a good deal - been though I keep telling myself ‘it’s only a bargain if you need it’....

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 23/11/2017 12:35

Definitely everyone! I am trying to think how I can use the discounts to get some christmas shopping done Halo but it's easier said than done...

Shop do you love the trainers/would you want them if you hadn't seen famous people in them?

Karcheer · 23/11/2017 13:12

everyone I've actually been unsubscribe get from loads of sites emails because of the same. I'm convinced most of these deals are to get rid of things people don't want #cynic

Dreamqueen · 23/11/2017 13:14

I went to All Saints this morning having decided to treat myself to a new biker jacket. Unfortunately the sleeves on all the jackets were too long for my short arms. Major disappointment for me but credit card is happy.

Everyone I'm deleting all the promo emails without reading them in case I get sucked into buying stuff that I really don't need. I'm making a list of wardrobe gaps to fill in 2018. Besides stuff on the list and shoes for nephews wedding, I'm going to limit my purchases next year.

FedupNagging · 23/11/2017 14:57

Hi Karcheer, lovely to see you back.

I've unsubscribed from just about all clothing/beauty websites as I got fed up with the barrage of emails and then the fomo on any bargains I don't need!

Shame about the AS leather jacket Dream; I am really pleased with my Mango one but should definitely have sized down. Fab Radley bag.

Lib I've just commented on your other thread and am going to have a look at all the links and look at the couple Shop has mentioned too.

Dreamqueen · 23/11/2017 16:14

Lib it might be worth posting on the Fantastic skincare thread. I asked on there for advice for updating my skin regime earlier in the year & got given great advice. Botemp on there knows so much advanced skincare stuff. I also have some sun damage from Irish childhood. My Nan never pust sunscreen on us as kids. Not even sure if they sold sunscreen there in the 60's!

Everyonelovessparkles · 23/11/2017 19:43

Glad it’s not just me feeling the Black Friday / week pressure.

That’s a good idea dream to devise a list and to try and stick to it. I did that this year and it worked quite well. I have spent just under 50% less than last year (not including my ring purchase obvs Grin). I think it’s just the fear of missing out on a bargain that gives me itchy fingers! There were some really nice DVF bargains today on the outnet but I just don’t need them, so had to resist. I do have a denim shirt in my basket which I’m tempted by, I thought I could wear it with black jeans/ skinnies to make a change from jumpers/ Bretons.

kitty annoying about the Selfridges promo not being on things you want.

That was a good bargain / discount on zelens justa.

lib I know what you mean about needing sun cream all the time in NZ. My brother got badly burnt in Auckland on an overcast day as just didn’t appreciate the strength of the UV there. Hope you find some good advice on the skincare threads.

kittyhello · 23/11/2017 19:59

Every I used today to buy things I've been pondering on

bought some trousers from JCrew, they 're quite distinctive so won't link here, some white trainers - Stan Smith style but not Sam Smiths and some mock shirts from Cos, no Cos discount code but free delivery whoop whoop!

Still holding out for a coat and some boots which I'll probably have to wait until the proper sales.

Hi Karcheer
