I've been having problems with the outnet too shop. I couldn't order like you so called customer services who tried to order for me but had the same problem their end. I was then told there was nothing they could do and to try again later! Very poor cs.
They've changed the products descriptions too, the model wears size feature or the fits large or small feature is not there for everything anymore. Even the fabric composition was missing on a jumper I was looking at. Hope they sort themselves out soon.

shopafrolic · 21/11/2017 12:04

Wow Justa that is terrible. They must be losing ££££££. Really poor CS. They'd be better off closing the site until the issue is resolved. They'll lose customers. Someone in management must be having a right panic Grin
The fit and composition stuff needs to come back otherwise I won't be buying from them even if their site lets me!

Agree re composition and fit, without that forget about it

Karcheer I’m really good thanks! Good to see you back

Karcheer · 21/11/2017 13:21

I also tried to order something from the outnet, thought it was my laptop, so doing an update... which is take ages...

justasecond · 21/11/2017 14:06

Forgot to say welcome back karcheer nice to see you on here again!

Karcheer · 21/11/2017 15:25

Thank you. Looking forward to seeing what everyone is wearing/buying.

Serenite · 21/11/2017 18:28

Hi just reading back last few days posts.
Marsha I have never made a list for DH at Christmas...but that's not to say I've not 'guided' him! TBH I'm not that bothered about Christmas presents, I like a nice stocking more - not into buying something just because it's Christmas, I'd rather have the 'credit' to use when I fall in love with something. I do think Libs too about all one website is extremely clever - these long standing voguettes now all the tricks 😉 Love it!
Dry is there any update on your skirt? And what happened to your poor finger, it sounded horrendous 😱 Any chance of a peep at the fairy light necklace, sounds very quirky and cool.
Viva I'm no help on hotels in NYC but I hope you get sorted and look forward to hearing about it. Also the poster (I forget the name, am so sorry) who enquirer about Uniquo velvet leggings, I can't help there either - however if you order them I'd be delighted to hear your opinion as I think they are lovely. It's not a shop I'm familiar with at all but I always love it online, not sent an order yet.
Everyone I laughed about the man flu.
Justa those velvet skinnies and the top from Zara are fab!!! I read with interest about the experiences you ladies are having with the outnet - I don't know about there but this season I've found availability and delivery on my usual haunts really poor.

Now a few pleas for help😳

Is there anyone who could help about the thread I posted about if/when/where Chanel might do a 15 % (or miraculously a 20%) discount on their make up? I've got so much to buy and wasn't organised when the HN day was on recently- I selfishly got my own but wasn't in the zone of thinking bout Christmas presents. Can't bear to pay full price these day on nearly everything - think it's a product of the relentless consumerism (of which I am happily playing my part) to wait for a 'code'. And some shops have 'sales' so often I think they've devalued their brand. Anyway, I buy into it, love my 'stuff' but it has an effect I've found - just really hate buying anything full price. Unless of course I have a high value I. The brand but I guess that's subjective. Does anyone else relate to this. And if anyone can help I'd appreciate it.

Next... this wedding I've got coming up. I've got the dress (two complete outfits for the day 😳) but am a bit wobbly at the outfit for 'breakfast in the hotel with the entire wedding party the next day' outfit (when did they get so complicated!).

Anyway I love love love getting dressed up but struggle a bit with that 'effortlessly casual' look.

Have ordered the sparkly trousers from m&s - like them but not right for the breakfast, around hotel look. Wedding is in two weeks by the way. Ordered red midi skirt from m&s but had nothing to wear with it. www.marksandspencer.com/velvet-pleated-a-line-midi-skirt/p/p60111594?&mcptredirect

So ordered ankle sock boots from M&S thinking they'd look ok with skirt but it's not the right look, I'm not styling it right. www.marksandspencer.com/stiletto-heel-stretch-ankle-boots/p/p60122272?image=SD_01_T02_5922A_Y0_X_EC_90&color=BLACK&prevPage=srp

Think I'll send skirt back but might look good with the right top and my new belt, I do like it, maybe red isn't the right colour for casual?
Maybe stick with jeans? What jeans would you recommend to wear with those sock boots, I'm stuck in a skinny rut! Have nice Levi's, maybe with those boots, Gucci belt, and a sweatshirt of some sort?
Have ordered velour sweatshirts from next but waiting on them. www.next.co.uk/g262074s14#198205

But maybe stiletto sock boots are not the thing the casual next day either? Maybe stick to R&B boots, hush dress, that type of thing?
This wedding has really brought up a lot of insecurities I have, people talking about what they are wearing incessantly for months and while I love it, every so often I feel inadequate, unstylish and insecure.
This is also before I sort out the second night out outfit and the second day breakfast 🤣🤣 OMG
I think I need a stylist just for a nice pair of jeans that look modern, sweatshirt and a pulled together look!! Without costing a fortune, strictly high street as the costs involved for the wedding keep rising!!!

Serenite · 21/11/2017 18:29

And also - I don't know If anyone's noticed but I have an utter inability to do a short post - its an affliction I have, apologies 😳😉

Dreamqueen · 21/11/2017 18:46

Serenite I love that skirt, it's very simialr to the balck one that I bought last year. Foe the breakfast I'd wearit with a slogan T shirt and a biker jacket with ankle boots. Weddings nad the extended celebrations have become so much more complicated these days. I'm going to a tropical wedding early next year & I think I've put more effort into outfits than what I di for my own wedding.

Dry hope your finger is better.

Shop outnet is behaving weirdly. been trying to order wedding guest outfits but not working properly.

Can't rememberer if I've already linked this dress it's a flattering for for my shape any very versatile.

Serenite · 21/11/2017 19:01

Hi Dream, what you've said is exactly what I was trying to say (in my essay🙄)
I definitely had less hassle for my own wedding!

Not sure I could get away with a slogan top - but I'll try one and see, have a thing about keeping things simple and that I'm not able to work a 'cool' look.
The skirt is a massive leap out of my comfort zone. Might try it in black, maybe it's the red. I am massively influenced by this thread (as is evident in my purchases) I find it so helpful and you ladies so stylish and approachable.
Did you decide about your dresses - I looked recently at the dropped waist one again (loved it) and noticed it had gone up to full price - probably in anticipation of the 'reduction' for Black Friday, the cynic in me thinks. I loved it. Did you keep any of them, the red ones or that one? I love that dress you linked, have one somewhere identical to it, must dig it out and see if it fits!
www.massimodutti.com/gb/women/coats/green-wool-coat-c680658p7993004.html?colorId=500&parentId=7993018
This is my new coat btw - still in the bag though 🤣

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 21/11/2017 20:39

Bless you Serenite and your long posts Grin I like them!

For the Chanel makeup, can you make a list of stockists and sign up for emails so you get notified about any black friday deals? (All the dept stores etc)

Re the skirt, I can't wear those pleated ones so have no idea how to make one work really. I would wear straight leg jeans with the sock boots, but maybe the stiletto heel needs a skirt? Definitely try them with your Levis.

Trying to remember what I wore the day after my wedding, probably jeans, though I wouldn't be surprised if I did plan it at the time Blush Do you think people will be casual or make a bit of effort? It is a minefield, so complicated like Dream says!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 21/11/2017 20:41

Oh and the green coat is gorgeous!

DryWhiteagainW · 21/11/2017 21:56

Serenite the skirt is fab but only after being taken in a lot. Comes up HUGE. Love it

DryWhiteagainW · 21/11/2017 22:21

Serenite have just read your 'essay' Wink and can totally relate. Like you I love dressing up. Like you I struggle with casual because I admire women who can do effortless dressed down, but I'm just not like that which is why I'm on here jeans are ok but I never feel I look my best in them. If I have to do casual and am unsure of the smartness level my go to isnice black skinnies, fine knit or shirt and some patent loafers, pointy flats or my R and B Chelsea boots if in hotel is go for shoes .....keep it simple with nice accessories.

I think when abig event come up the fun of it for women like us who love fashion is getting an outfit sorted. However it's an annoying thing that then we start feeling worried about ourselves cue panic buying disasters, in an expert and us MNV and my friends here to keep me in check. I try really hard to have faith in my own choices and remind myself that in everyday life, amount my peers, I'm quite stylish. You should do the same. You sound very chic.

DryWhiteagainW · 21/11/2017 22:23

Wrote that on phone Henderson dodgy grammar/spelling Smile

Essays are catching!Grin

DryWhiteagainW · 21/11/2017 22:24

HENCE!!!!!

libertyonhertravels · 22/11/2017 04:01

I love that MD coat serenite and dream the levi dress looks great.

Serenite I think the 'breakfast in hotel after wedding' is a very tricky thing to dress for. TBH I think the pleated skirt looks too much like evening wear. I would do as Dry suggests and stick to something fairly classic like jeans and a sweater or shirt. Or something like these Me and Em trousers look relaxed and comfortable while being a bit less classic. IME these things tend to be very mixed with some people obviously well turned out and others hungover who will just have thrown on jeans and a T-shirt and shuffle in wearing hotel slippers complete with messy hair and panda eyes Grin or maybe that's just me

I went to a salon in Auckland today for a hair consultation and was so impressed. They spent ages talking about what I wanted and went through my face shape and what cuts would best suit my face etc - am booked in for next week for a trim and colour and olaplex treatment. The agreed plan is to let it grow especially at the front and layer the sides and back to make the most of the natural wave/curl. Am all excited at the prospect of nice glossy, swishy hair - it's looking very battered atm after all the sun and seasalt.

Dreamqueen · 22/11/2017 07:26

Serenite I've kept the navy dropped waist dress and the red Oasis one. I liked the shorter length sleeves on the monsoon dress but the cut of the Oasis one is more flattering to my figure.

Lib your hair consultation sounds fabulous, Finding a good hairdresser so early on is a definate plus.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 22/11/2017 07:58

hair advice sounds really good lib i should really dot he same and get mine looked at but tbh,i don't really want to lose any of the length and the last time it got this long, i had ti all chopped off in a moment of madness! i do need to dye it again though, some definite roots on show although the colour through the length is good right now.

I keep thinking about a midi length, black velvet pleated skirt i saw and wondering if i should buy it for Xmas....I'm trying to justify it to myself even though i really don't need any more clothes right now BUT i know i would definitely get a lot of wear out of it beyond Xmas......argh, i cant decide, i know i would have to get rid of something else ive already got to really justify buying it and i dont know what i would get rid of!

Everyonelovessparkles · 22/11/2017 08:05

serenite, I think dry has offered some good advice for the breakfast - jeans with a nice top / jumper that you could dress up with accessories if need be. Or do you have any casual dresses? The sort that don’t crease, easy to wash etc as they might be ok too. Only i flew to Spain yesterday and wore my rainbow dress again as it is so comfy and I realised this is the winter equivalent of all my easy to wear summer dresses. I just wore it with ballet flats and opaques and it doesn’t look dressed up at all.

Great to hear about the hairdressers lib. I was really disappointed with my last cut.

I’m full of a cold and could rival Rudolph with my red nose Grin. I just can’t wait for November to be over.

Dreamqueen · 22/11/2017 08:59

Get well soon Everyone I love the rainbow dress.

One I bought a similar skirt last Christmas & its been very useful & I've worn it a lot.

Have just ordered this cross body bag to fill a gap in my wardrobe. Bargain price & gets good reviews.
