calling me too! We’re hoping to move house at some point - sold our apartment so are now just waiting for things to go through and need to find our forever home...

I’ve used up enough earl grey teabags now to fit the remainder in the tea bag jar. Hoorah!

CantChoose · 04/02/2018 14:06

Me too - we are hoping to move in about 8 weeks. I'm targeting the bottles in the spirits cupboard with less than an inch left at the moment 😂 and lighting candles every evening - I seem to have loads of half used ones.

chloechloe · 04/02/2018 14:29

Hello everyone! I haven't posted for ages but have been following all your antics! Lots of finishing things going on, good work.

I've been really well behaved as I had a couple of vouchers for Space NK and Cult Beauty to be used by the end of Jan but didn't buy anything. On the one hand I'm kicking myself for "wasting" £30 worth of credit. But on the other, I really didn't need anything and would have ended spending more to get up to the free postage thresholds.

Let's see how long I can stick to the no spend 2018! It actually feels quite liberating!

I have a few more empties too:

  1. Oskia Exfoliating Balm. This is quite a cheat as I gave it to my DH as it made my eyes burn. He then smashed it on the bathroom floor so I've thrown it away (only to discover he was apparently still using the smashed pot!?) Anyway, surely that counts!?

  2. Korea Wild Rose sleep cream from the M&S advent. Quite nice but nothing to get excited about and I have another in my stash.

  3. Pixi Glow Tonic 100ml. Would repurchase eventually but I have some AHA pads to use next. And then some Liquid Gold or three.

  4. RMS Beauty Coconut Cream 70g

  5. DCL Hydra Boost Serum 5ml

So I've hit 50+ since joining the thread in October!!!

chloechloe · 04/02/2018 14:32

cantchoose you've just inspired me to light a White Company candle! I think it's been hanging around so long that it doesn't have any scent left though....

woodhill · 04/02/2018 17:47

Re. Bathroom?

Haven't got old pictures but will post soon. Poor dh is doing it as and when as he is working etc. It is looking 10times better than it was but needs to lay floor etc.

CantChoose · 04/02/2018 18:08

Well done chloe I've always fancied the white company candles but never quite found a smell I like enough. I always want the winter one but then decide it's a bit to much cinnamon for me. We have a raspberry and peppercorn one lit at the monent, it is lovely.
I've finished another elemis hand and body cream today. I feel like I'm cheating a bit though as they're tiny! Im hoping to do a facemask tonight so might squeak in another empty before bedtime - I think my elemis lavender mask is on its last legs...
Oh, and I've finished some cherry flavour southern comfort while cooking dinner Grin

ememem84 · 04/02/2018 20:32

Have also decanted cotton buds into a jar. I keep them in a jo Malone candle jar in my bathroom cabinet. The plastic box is now gone.

CallingAllEngels · 05/02/2018 19:31

Another empty - 30ml St Ives face scrub. Horrible stuff, way too coarse. The next time I do a Liz Earle order (which will be a couple of months at least as I have a good stash of cleanser, toner and moisturiser) I will order some of their face scrub which is lovely and gentle.

I have been doing the same with candles can'tchoose . I've also now put a scented candle in our bedroom in my office for when I'm working/doing yoga/running away from my children.

I spired decluttering going on in the rest of the house too - we sold our buggy and I put 3 carrier bags full into clothes donation.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 05/02/2018 21:12

Nice work on general using up skills everyone.
I remember that crazy scrub Engels.
I’ve been throwing scent around like crazy so used up a fig body spray as room spray (from Halloween list!!!). Also finished a Baillis & Harding shower gel (dullsville), Taylor Swift Perfume (very fruity), 2 candles and a lovely apple scrub. Still not much action on using up make up but interested in kwicks haul!

kwick · 06/02/2018 08:02

I only got some of my favourites, all Superdrug own brands:
hydating serum day, night, facial spritz and I bloody forgot cotton wool pads so am braving Boots this morning 😬

calling oh jeeez st ives apricot scrub. I bought some last year. Then my skin broke out.

I remember having bad skin when I was a teenager and used this stuff. I wonder if it caused it... used it up on my body/feet though.

ememem84 · 06/02/2018 08:18

Finished another Molton brown shower gel bauble today. 75ml. It was the apricot something and gold one. Only two left now. Elderflower and something.

DragonNoodleCake · 06/02/2018 09:38

I'm working from home, so naturally I have a whole bottle of silver toner on my hair, technically it's an empty but I only bought it last week Grin

ememem84 · 06/02/2018 11:57

And finished a tresseme dry shampoo. I’m a fan of this. It (for me) rivals batiste. I have another in the stash.

IPokeBadgers · 06/02/2018 12:54

Binned the dregs of a garnier miracle sleeping cream....had it for ages and when I started trying to use it up I realised that it made my face itch....I think it might be the fragrance in it. I hate binning stuff but sometimes I just take a look at all the products that I have, that I prefer, and think there is no point persevering with something that doesn't quite agree with my skin.

Orangecake123 · 06/02/2018 14:16

Hello ;)

I was never allowed to wear make up when I was a teenager and I really went all out with makeup around 2 years ago- when I started living on my own. But I spent so much I'm really ashamed. I haven't bought myself anything since october. At one point I had more than 32 MAC lipsticks. DX I'v given away 5 lipsticks to my sister, but I'm not even half way through one russian red lipstick which is my usual everyday lipstick.

CallingAllEngels · 06/02/2018 21:25

A very boring empty - 150ml Dove deodorant.

And shower foam for the kids - Zwitsal 150ml.

CallingAllEngels · 06/02/2018 21:27

orange that sounds like me and clothes. I got into retro fashion a few years ago and have spent a hideous amount of money - a lot of it has never been worn or only once or twice, especially if it's something that's not suitable for work!

Orangecake123 · 06/02/2018 22:51

I did the same thing with clothes too. xDD. I had a real thing about tights and dresses. My only consolidation was that the majority had sale labels.

What does retro fashion look like?

CallingAllEngels · 07/02/2018 09:39

I wear a lot of vintage retro brands - so 50s styles, sweetheart necklines, full skirts. Collectif, Hell Bunny are my go-to brands. But...not buying any more clothes!!!

CallingAllEngels · 07/02/2018 18:32

Empty - 150ml Liz Earle C&P grapefruit and patchouli.

Have quite a stash of various varieties of these. Will keep buying when they run out (have replaced for a large sweet orange and mint, and have 2x100ml with lavender as well as several travel sized tubes and half a lavender one in the shower). Have been thinking about going for the large tubes in future though as works out cheaper and can cut open to get the last bits out (as opposed to the pumps which are impenetrable). Definitely a sucker for the special editions though.

Have worked out my stash is mostly face masks, soap, shower gel, lip balm and make up. So this is the stuff I must absolutely not buy and must make an effort at home to use.

Most of the skincare I buy is LE and EL as am a creature of habit and find new stuff always upsets my skin. The only stuff I can imagine I will need to buy in the foreseeable future are deodorant and body moisturiser.

CantChoose · 07/02/2018 18:44

Calling I have successfully penetrated a LE pump before, it's those ones where the pump tube is in a bag so there's basically nothing there. Wasn't worth the effort Grin

I've finished another elemis sample body lotion - only another two of these left now. Also finished a sample vial of chopard 'wish' perfume. The dry down of this was quite pleasant but a tiny bit old ladyish I fear.

CallingAllEngels · 07/02/2018 18:52

I feel better knowing there's not much in there can't !

kwick · 08/02/2018 06:53

Great progress ladies!

I have two empties:

  • Body Shop banana shampoo 60ml: I am not even going to keep the bottle (I use this when travelling/go for a swim) as I have a Lush shampoo bar to use up. A bit too rich for my oily roots.
  • Cosmia cotton blossom shower milk 750ml: one of my Spain purchases in November. I like the fragrance but it does not linger.

Calling- that does sound like a lovely style.

I've started using up the 3 older body shop shower gels I have.
