WWW's much stricter 10yy boot camp putting easter behind us, WEEK TWO

WideWebWitch · 09/04/2007 11:38

Hello, let's put easter behind us everyone. Mine is literally on my behind, ahem.

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

hello all

can't say how I've been doing (not good)

next week will be a new leaf

haven't been to the gym for 2 weeks and I think my 'central core' has slumped again [sigh]

yoyo · 11/04/2007 17:47

Back home. Had an incredibly indulgent meal out last night as my folks babysat and my lovely Dad drove us to and from restaurant. However, felt really sick through the night and think the rich food and fabulous wine were just too much.

Am going to have steak and salad tonight and will have wine whilst watching Life on Mars. Tomorrow is the day that I brave the scales and the gym - I need to look good by 26th May as have a "bash" to attend!

This lovely weather and the thought of short sleeves will be an incentive for all of us. Don't think I will ever do a spinning class though - sounds hellish.

Time to banish the blubber and embrace fast and furious sex. Do I mention this to DH before or after Life on Mars and that wine?!!

motherinferior · 11/04/2007 17:57

Oh gawd. I tried on a cheap frock yesterday and the Inferiorettes lectured me on how Round my Arms were ('we're thin', they informed me - OK, thank you, rub it in, won't you). And - I can barely admit this - DP's brother took some pics of us all in the park on Easter Day and I look, well, swollen, positively tumescent, kind of pregnant (which I'm not) - and worse he took them for one of their other brothers whose wife is Miz Thin from Thin City.

And then I drank a very very very large amount on Monday. Which kind of strikes out the fact I didn't drink any booze at all yesterday, especially as I did ahem ahem ahem eat really a quite large amount of G&B dark choc easter egg.

motherinferior · 11/04/2007 17:58

But I'm slathered in liberalpinkoartsgraduate fair-traded organic shea butter, and sunscreen too.

WideWebWitch · 11/04/2007 19:17

Puddle, Who's Gene Hunt? Sounds like a euphemism for c**t Hope you've had a lovely day in London

MT, re the water, I have a half litre bottle on my desk and refill it every time I go to the loo as I have to walk past the water cooler so as long as I've filled it 4 times I've had my 2 litres. And not drinking in the evening means I drink more water too. Welcome, I'm a heifer too, don't worry!

Sw, I should think so re the wagon, you were v amusing last week though off the wagon. SIT UPS? MY WORD I'M IMPRESSED. >

Arfy, rofl at spinning class, I had a vague idea they were vile and now I KNOW they are. You know the psychopath at the front? That's me on this thread, that is. Well, would be if I wasn't so bloody crap

Iota sympathy on yer central core.

Yoyo, mention f&f after the wine etc IF you still feel like it! Short sleeves? I don't do those, ever. I do 3quarter length only, that's the most anyone ever sees of my arm and that's quite enough. But as Cod says, I look like a Greek widow as I am fat and always in black...

MI, I am SURE your arms are neither round nor is your stomach pregnant looking, gah!

And WHO Is John Simm? Is that the bit which isn't true? Sobernow, are you still a titchy size 12? Well done on no wine since Sunday (if that bit was true!) though.

Me, hmm, well

f&f hs so a later night than I would have liked but never mind, No Booze for 3rd night running, brownie point for me
100g Granola
lots of water
2 apples
strawberries
blueberries
rocket salad with a tin of sardines, beetroot, cuc, tomatoes and a tsp of salad dressing for lunch
some mints
morning after pill (just threw that in to check you're listening but bit of a pita, think risk is v v small but being on safe side anyway)
Cod, lemons, prosciutto, garlic in the oven cooking although it has too much olive oil in it really. And I have also cooked cut up potatoes with skins on in olive oil and rosemary but will try to only have a couple of small pieces
walked for half an hour at lunchtime
with sunscreen
bought and used handcream
used body lotion all over this am

feel very happy
Am (nearly) an Example To You All

So F&F leads to MAP WWW?! Definitely do not need that as a consideration at the moment. Do you not watch Life on Mars? Lots of references in these posts - Gene Hunt, John Simm (remember him in The Lakes many moons ago and thought he was fab then).

I'm a three-quarter preferably black too but am sick of this look and need to do something about it before my Big birthday this year.

Joining this week late, back from an Easter long weekend fuelled mainly by chocolate and wine.

Lovely, but am now right back where I started.

I am crap at the water and the sunscreen, but have been for a run tonight (I use the word "run" to mean lots of walking an a little bit of running).

Still have massive quantities of wine around and stupid amounts of chocolate. Don't know what to do with it all, other than consume it.

Clary · 11/04/2007 22:58

puddle I really want to have my colours done. Cod has raved about it elsewhere.

But meanwhile have to have hair and eyebrows done ready for big Ball (have just bought dress, sorry Dress).

Eaten far too much chocolate in last 4 days, totally making up for Lent oh dear. Lots of cycling to work tho as holidays so no need for complexities of dropping off kids/driving home to fetch them etc.

Need to take lunch to work a) to save money b) to save calories.

WideWebWitch · 12/04/2007 07:29

Sobernow, but ooh at dh's colleague! An 'old' indeed. Thanks for explanations of tv people, I haven't seen Life on Mars but gather I should.

Batters, that still sounds good

f&fs shouldn't = MAP and was v v v small risk (accidental not due to being blase) but I do not want more children ever so being on v safe side, I hope!

Had some 70% dark chocolate last night too but was asleep by 10.30 and no wine

Have had granola and vit tablets so far today, now off to work. See you later.

puddle · 12/04/2007 08:47

Did LOADS of walking yesterday doing the 'proper' tourist thing with the children in London so the exercise box is well and truly ticked. Had a really wonderful day and so happiness quota is v high.

Food ok - not brilliant but managed not to stuff face with ice cream when the kids had theirs.....and said no to the free choc bunnies they were giving out at the London eye!

winnie · 12/04/2007 10:22

hi guys.
I have had a lovely break and am feeling very happy and very optimistic about the future
Whilst away I used sunscreen (I've still caught the sun ); I was remarkably restrained alcohol wise (except during a beach bbq when I drank rather a lot of vodka) but dh hardly touches the stuff and dd has a bit of a problem with it so it was easier not too (However had a wonderfull time with dd and am extra happy about this - she was the dd I know and love once again ) Did lots of walking but found climbing steep steps from the beach hard work and it's certainly a kick up the bum... I AM SO UNFIT! Drank lots of water. Used body cream & hand cream. Few early nights, ate lots of fruit and veg but lots of crap too ... was very happy

Now I am back I need to make a really big effort. Lots of mirrors where we were staying really underlined the fact I look much older than my age

NappiesGaloreeatsBoysonToast · 12/04/2007 12:20

can i join? can i?

i have sunscreen on (and just applied fake tan. boy do i need a boost)
i drink wine everynight. but vow from this moment forth; only on w/ends.
i will do some exercise every day
i am drinmking water as i type
just put body cream on

...and hand creme too
i will sky+ lost and ugly betty and watch them next day and start going to bed at 10.30
and stop eating easter eggs and nothing else (!)
happiness quotient not too bad at pres. (despite being asked if im pg yesterday sob sob. im not.

i also need to stop biting my nails coz its pathetic frankly.

oh please help me people i will be forever indebted....

suzywong · 12/04/2007 15:01

hold on, if you were to look 10 years younger, you would have to go back and start high school. Are you sure you want to do this?

monkeytrousers · 12/04/2007 15:18

Oh to be asked for id when buying an alcopop!

What is your free weight system Suzy? I have a couple of hand held weights from tescos - will they do?

suzywong · 12/04/2007 15:21

yeah
I have 2x1.5 kilos and a 3 kilo for bicep cuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrls

I went to a new yoga class today for intermediates. None of this fannying about with your chakras and visualising a woman in flowing yellow robes during relaxation - she was an uncharasmatic but thorough Czech and we did shoulder stretching over wooden blocks. It were bloody great.

How are you going? What are you filling the LSE shaped gap in your life with?

frumpygrumpy · 12/04/2007 18:54

OOOhh! Hello, can I jump in?

Haven't read the whole thread (yet) but I'm up for being better behaved and feeling better. The early night thing I really struggle with though.....

WideWebWitch · 12/04/2007 19:22

Puddle, well done on resisting chocolate, the day out sounds lovely.

Winnie, that's SUCH lovely news about your dd, fantastic. Glad you had a lovely time, welcome back.

Nappies, of course you can join, welcome. You can't drink wine every night on this plan I'm afraid, although we all have the odd lapse! We will help you but you have to read the rules and do your best to stick to them, all right? Likewise frumpygrumpy

Suzywong, respect on the yoga class

Sobernow, well done, that sounds v abstemious.

I had an ok ish day
Granola
2 apples
blueberries
strawberries
100g lentils with 1tsp olive oil, plus crumbled bits (small amt) of feta, plus lazy chillis and garlic, was really yummy
a few walnuts/pine nuts/brazils
and just had 2 organic sausages plus roasted mediterranean veg
plus another small portion lentils, garlic, chillis etc
no booze for 4th night running
