WWW's much stricter 10yy boot camp putting easter behind us, WEEK TWO

WideWebWitch · 09/04/2007 11:38

Hello, let's put easter behind us everyone. Mine is literally on my behind, ahem.

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

Course you can join! Welcome

My god, I could not turn down a cold glass of wine handed to me every evening, well done! And no worries Simplyspk, we were simply a bit envious that you are so light of wine habit

Have bbq chicken thighs in fridge and am on second large glass of Prosecco so, I am undone. Never mind! It's Friday.

foxinsocks · 13/04/2007 19:42

the weather is just too nice not to have a glass of wine

I can't remember what I had for breakfast. An apple maybe.

Had a chicken and stuffing sandwich for lunch plus some dried apricots. At some point, I think a packet of crisps may have found its way into my hand.

Ate with the kids (dh not around) and had spag carbonara.

Am now quaffing wine and eating err fruit pastilles. Was pondering doing a Davina DVD but not sure I can be arsed.

WideWebWitch · 13/04/2007 19:43

Oh fk Davina dvds fis, it's too Friday for that. I was going to go for a walk but am saving it for tomorrow instead

Not a good day as we spent it in London with a visit to Borough Market before the Imperial War Museum (meant to be London Dungeon but there was a three hour wait!!). Had usual bran and banana breakfast, a wrap with roast veg and hoummus for lunch and half a slice of banana cake, then home to a fab curry made by DH with paps and picks and two bottles of beer. I even managed an enormous portion of trifle. Feeling extremely full now. Have frozen the rest of the curry so healthy meal tomorrow. Also feel so tired (walked for miles) that I shall be asleep after NTNON and will probably have just a glass of wine if that.
I will be so glad when th echildren are back in school so that we do not have these outings and feel th eneed to reward ourselves with wine at the end of th eday.

Winnie - glad to read that everything is going so well. Long may it continue.

Enid · 13/04/2007 21:26

2 large glasses of chilled Viognier in the pub

plus calves liver and steamed green veg (I declined the mash and a pudding so feel virtuous)

monkeytrousers · 13/04/2007 23:55

have walked lots todaty but also been at work where cakes were forever being put on my desk. did you trick with the half litre bottle though and it works!

Also had a friends birthday tonight but have came home early!! Still horribly half cut but drinking more water now and have discovered Syndol...

WideWebWitch · 14/04/2007 07:34

Yoyo, the London Dungeon is fantastic and if you book online you can buy fast track tickets - we only had to wait about 10 minutes. I love Borough Market.

MT, good about the water. Cakes at work are hard aren't they? If people put them on the bit next to me I move them.

Enid, well done on declining the mash/pud.

Iota, hope dinner was fab. Empty stomach + wine is lethal innit?

Sobernow, lol at you rock and at iron age camp, glad your boiler is fixed.

Sophable pickled cucumbers sound vile but well done on the rest (apart from Choc orange)

Batters, so, did you make the call for wine? Or resist?

We drank loads of wine so I woke up in the night gasping for water and feel fine this am because I drank so much water in the night and because I was in bed by 10.30

Have just had granola for breakfast and it's a misty day here which I LOVE and is perfect for walking so I will walk 2 miles this morning once dh is up.

Thanks for your posts batters.

Yesterday I managed to do some of the things in www's OP. I'll have a go again today.

arfishy · 14/04/2007 12:26

Hello all. Sounds like everybody is doing well .

I'm being very good. So much so that I nipped over to Frannys 10/10 bootcamp to tease them about the 14 veggies (including sprouting mung beans and my legendary algae) I ate today.

I tried my incentive jeans on again today and got them over my arse and DONE UP!!! The muffin top was a shocker though, not even disguisable with much sucking-in-of-breath and floaty tops. More lettuce coming my way. In desperation I even went back to the spinning-class-from-hell. Can you get rid of a nasty muffin top in 3 weeks? [hopeful emoticon]

I've been getting to bed early, but DD has been ruining the effect by getting up between 4am and 5am since the clocks changed.

WWW - £700 . I would have been straight into the nearest glass of Sauvignon to get over the shock.

FrannyandZooey · 14/04/2007 12:32

Aha

here you all are

well if you like eating spirulina spit balls or whatever they are all called, then go ahead

but if anyone fancies a more gentle and well, nuturing environment then you are welcome to come and join us in the laid back and holistic 10 / 10 club

we are allowed chocolate whenever we want and do wholesome gardening instead of those tiresome spinning classes

(p.s I wouldn't have crashed but arfishy started it )

Dinosaur · 14/04/2007 12:33

Ooioohhh can I rejoin please? I have been a right salad dodger and biscuit muncher recently and need to get back on the straight and narrow!

I have been doing heel cream (after filing off hard bits with body shop foot file) but quite slack on everything else and REALLY bad about sleeping, never in bed before midnight atm. Not good not good not good!

So far today I have had one slice wholemeal toast, rather too much ham (but it needs eating, it goes out of date) and the leftovers from Nigel's fab sausage and Jerusalem artichope recipe (so good I started a thread about it).

Off to walk over to Clissold Park now, that's a good-ish walk from here.

arfishy · 14/04/2007 13:34

[tee hee]

Nothing wrong with my spirulina balls. They are very nutritionally dense. As are my goji berries.

[glowing with health emoticon]

NappiesGaloreeatsBoysonToast · 14/04/2007 15:00

lol franny at nuturing - reads as neutering rather than nurturing hahahahha [tho i am still firmly in both camps and dont actually see any rwason for divide you competitive thing you]

www - i am handed cold glasses of wine several times an evening and all smegging day on w/ends... i turn down tons at the mo!

i have eaten fruit and veg till it threatens to exit somewhat sharply, done sunscreen, rode bike in garden a bit , drunk water, the flexitol is working its magic on my feet-hurrah, ummmmmmmmm i was late to bed last night (watching telly till 1am dozy mare. telly is evil) BUT dp let me go back to sleep from 7amtill 10am bless him!
and i washed and blow dried hair so i look human too.

not doing enough exercise i reckon... but other than that, not bad, not bad...

NappiesGaloreeatsBoysonToast · 14/04/2007 15:02

arfishy -that algea thing sounds v gillian mckeithy... is it not a load of salty balls??

ooooh www! HOW exciting!

Are you ok about them living with you?

suzywong · 14/04/2007 15:23

good on you for doing the extended family thing, you know it makes sense

bog of 10 out of 10ers

I've been off wagon today but dh has been downright vile, buying from the kiosk at Penguin Island where we took the kids for a look at the penguins; a horselips pie, a sausage roll and then a deep fried crumbed chicken sausage. It's all very well him gnawing on pumpkin seeds now.

anyway, goodluck to you
and I'llbe back on the museli tomorrow
