Really Ree has the contents of Look Fantastic and lots of other calendars. I wasnt impressed by this year's Look Fantastic one. Asos is back in stock this week. Last week it had sold out.

Aquiver · 11/10/2017 18:02

I bought my DH the Beer Hawk one (£65 and £1.70 back via Top Cash Back).

My lovely hubby has bought me both l’occitaine ones (no idea why) which is really kind. It’s interesting how they are producing them at two price points this year (I’m not sure what the difference is in contents - will have to wait and see) x

purplecorkheart · 11/10/2017 18:10

Had the Jo Malone one last year but didn't feel it was worth the money. Hoping to get a foodie one this year.

Laska5772 · 11/10/2017 18:23

Ive sent a huge hint to Dh for the Cowshed one

BluebellGal · 11/10/2017 18:28

I have the Look Fantastic calendar- received yesterday and opened the whole thing (I purchased for the contents as such a good deal and I needed to replenish supplies).

I’m really happy with it - have already used 11 of the products - make up and skin - only 1 didn’t impress me so I’d say that’s a success. One product is amazing- I woke up with beautiful plump skin this morning

TealStar · 11/10/2017 21:13

Bluebell I'm thinking of getting the LF calendar as I LOVE their monthly beauty boxes. What full price products does it contain and does it have any high end make up?

TealStar · 11/10/2017 21:26

Oh sorry Bluebell - don't post here as I don't want you to inadvertently spoil it for anyone!

BluebellGal · 11/10/2017 21:45

tealstar I don’t want to ruin the Look Fantastic calendar for anyone so won’t name products. But let’s just say the brands are high mid range. They are not Eve Lom type luxury brands, but still fairly high end I.e. some of the cheaper brands you might find in Space NK - so definitely not Superdrug/supermarket brands

Eg high end brand lipstick costs £20 (eg more than Urban Decay)

There are some cult products, some i’d never heard of. There’s a high end leading facial brand that expensive salons use. One product is £50 for 50ml at Space NK.

There is one own brand products too which is very good.

There are a range of make up products for eyes lips cheeks brows

There are 3 hair products

Strangely there are very few body products - I’d say 2 or 3 - but for me this balance is good

I think it’s a good deal for £79

TealStar · 11/10/2017 21:51

Ah thank you Bluebell. After I posted my last commment I went off in search of spoilers and found them all Grin
I'm intrigued as to which was great for your skin but I think I've found it (a product designed for night time use?) so I may order it. The whole calendar looks gorgeous.

Makemineacabsauv · 11/10/2017 22:11

DDs benefit 12 day calendar arrived today. It is small but it’s lovely and I just wanted to open it there and then!! Stuff inside looks good too - we’ll, she’ll love it!

OneInAMillionYou · 11/10/2017 22:35

Diptyque calendar went on sale today. £300 from Selfridges 😱😱😱😱

Beyond me this year but I bet it will be on eBay soon for twice the price!

BluebellGal · 11/10/2017 23:17

Haha tealstar you couldn’t wait like me! Yes the product I mentioned is the one for night time use and it’s one of the cheaper items in the box so unless I react (haven’t so far) I will be repurchasing! Haven’t tried the posh facial product yet that costs £50 in Space NK so I look forward to testing that at the weekend

BananaSandwichesEveryDay · 12/10/2017 08:02

@Aquiver. I believe the luxury L'Occitane calendar contains quite a few of their more pricey ranges - immortelle etc as well as the Terre de Lumiere scent. I have gone for the regular one as I tend to use more of the body care stuff and I already have a lota couple of Terre de Lumiere products. I'll be interested to know what you think of them though.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 12/10/2017 10:03

DD just turned 17 wants the Benefit one-went on sale today.
Just ordered.... Glitterball wanted christmas but this is close...

snowplop · 12/10/2017 12:02

50 days til Dec 1st! My LF calendar (bought with a 20% disc as I'm a subscriber) arrived this week and after a quick peek at the box design it's been hidden away so I'm not tempted to open a few boxes. It looks fab, and because its design isn't all red/green and festive it'll look lovely on DDs dressing table once it's been emptied.

Had the Feel Unique 12 day one last year which was nice but I preferred the M&S one as there was something to open every day of Dec.

How many calendars are you getting? There's so much choice this year! I fancy the Atelier fragrance one from Sephora but not sure about ordering from the US.

Motherofterriers · 12/10/2017 20:33

I think you can order the atelier fragrance one from Selfridges. £60

snowplop · 12/10/2017 23:00

Thanks Mother I might just do that Smile

MountainDweller · 13/10/2017 00:14

I have ordered the Look Fantastic one but am itching to get another one too. Have had m&s before and would go for it again but not in the UK so would have to have a visit to coincide with the launch as they won’t ship to Europe, nor will John Lewis, boo.

@DeltaG I had the Look Fantastic one last year too and it was massive. This year’s is pretty big too I think but squarer (last year’s was a huge rectangle). I brought the m&s one back last year and it did take up most of my luggage! Where in Switzerland are you? I am on the French side of the French/Swiss border and have taken in parcels for friends wanting to avoid Swiss import charges. Worth a try if you are near the border and have friends in France or Germany etc. (Apologies if you have already thought of this!)

Smashpumpkin · 15/10/2017 21:39

Received my Look fantastic one yesterday.. I managed to refrain myself for a whole 24 hours before I caved in and opened all the boxes Blush Really happy with the contents

chloechloe · 16/10/2017 08:59

Naughty pumpkin! I received mine too and am trying to decide whether to open it or save it as my mum is getting me two others as well. I did open the first box though! The box is lovely - my 2.5 yo will love having it to play with when it's finished!

Pippin8 · 16/10/2017 09:04

I was going to try & get the liberty one, but the John Lewis one is back in stock so I might order that today.

mowglik · 16/10/2017 09:57

Pippin the John Lewis one is really good, lots of well reviewed products. Unfortunately I’ve got 7 if them already so it’s not worth it for me

I almost purchased some lipsticks in boots yesterday, 3 for £25. I then convinced myself the nyx calendar was much better value at 24 lip products for £50 so I’ve got that, my first advent calendar of the year Grin

I might start opening them now and wearing one each day

Motherofterriers · 16/10/2017 11:10

I'm struggling to decide between John Lewis and Liberty. Problem was solved by the JL one being out of stock but then they emailed to say it was back in....

BluebellGal · 16/10/2017 11:56

motherofterriers I think the Liberty calendar offers more variety and value for money than JL. There are more full sized products (JL are all small samples- saw it unboxed in shop). Brands are more premium at Liberty. JL offers more perfume minis (4 I think) but I would only wear one of them (Hermes) as the other three are pink mingers (really sweet). Liberty only offers one perfume but it’s a travel sized Le Labo (swoon).

BluebellGal · 16/10/2017 11:57

Only £25 between JL and Liberty calendars
