Tis the season...

The first one I've seen actually for sale is the John Lewis Beauty Advent Calendar. £149 with a great selection of products.
Ordered mine!

I had the M&S one and the liberty one last year. I will be getting the liberty one again. It was brilliant and I'm still using lots of the products. Sold a few bits I didn't want on eBay and recouped half the cost. So win-win really!

GreggsSausageRolls · 15/09/2017 18:48

Marking place Smile

StripyBlanket · 15/09/2017 20:08

Thanks Amber
I'm undecided what to get this year. Loved the M&S one - wasn't so fussed by Yankee Candles. Might try No 7

caggie09 · 15/09/2017 20:09

People that had the Liberty advent calander last year, what did you do with the empty advent? It looks lovely and i wouldnt want to throw it away, did you reuse as something else or just bin it?Grin

GaryBarlowsTaxReturn · 15/09/2017 22:18

I've kept my empty liberty calendar and I'm going to fill it with treats for my toddler this Xmas. I did see on eBay people were flogging the empty boxes.

BringMeTea · 15/09/2017 22:27

Kept mine and will do something festive with it. It is a thing of beauty. (No pun intended).

CotswoldStrife · 17/09/2017 21:49

If anyone is interested in the Decleor calendar, I believe QVC have it on 3 easy payments today (Sunday)!

ChoccyJules · 17/09/2017 21:52

Oh dear, I really must stay away from these threads! Hadn't realised these were a thing. Now I want one for me and one for my sister. Not chosen yet, looking for a cheaper version than a lot of those mentioned on here, under £50 each.

caggie09 · 18/09/2017 12:49

Amazon are also doing one this year for £50! Alot more shops are coming foward with them. Also, sounds good with reusing the liberty adventGrin

Cakefortea1 · 18/09/2017 19:48

Any tips for a budget one? My daughter is 13 and loves face masks, candles, shower gels, bath bombs?

ChoccyJules · 18/09/2017 21:15

There's a Wilkos one for a fiver. I had a look at the contents and they're not quite what I'm after but a teen may like it?

Pumpkintopf · 18/09/2017 21:16

Wilko cheapie for teen-

MyNewHobbyIsGin · 18/09/2017 21:28

Amber does that link detail what is in each box? I dont want to know the exact contents, but I would love to find a rating of each offer. I had a M&S one last year and loved the surprise each morning (so dont want to clock on the link!). I really liked the contents but Im feeling a whiff of 'meh' about this years???

Amber0685 · 19/09/2017 11:23

@MyNewHobbyIsGin, it depends which one. A lot have photos of the contents. So maybe don't look if you want a suprise!

shinny · 19/09/2017 11:36

I got ASOS last year to give as gifts but it was pretty dull.

This year Im planning on Occitane for DM and also was looking at Benefit for a 15 yr old who loves their products BUT can anyone suggest an alternative as perhaps a calendar that offers different products may be better so she can try out other brands? Dont want to spend more than about 50quid.
TIA....

caggie09 · 21/09/2017 12:48

I watched a video before on this years ASOS one, lets just say day 25 looks abit of a let down :( sorry if anyone on this thread has bought it and i dont want to spoil it for you!!

taxiforme · 21/09/2017 13:08

I had the Jo Malone one - 12 months of utter joy. Worth every penny.

Talisin · 21/09/2017 13:40

On the (mostly) cheaper end of the spectrum - all the advent calendars Superdrug are selling online are reduced right now.

lynmilne65 · 21/09/2017 13:44

Far more money than sense Envy

HelenaDove · 25/09/2017 02:30

Cool Carrie i cant afford it either but i still like to have a nosy online.

The NYX one is lipsticks so if you are a bit of a lipstick addict like me its great.

AdoraBell · 25/09/2017 09:08

Place marking.

chloechloe · 25/09/2017 12:01

I've preordered the Look Fantastic one and am very tempted by Liberty.

But I Do Not Need All This Stuff. Repeat. I do not need it!

BluebellGal · 25/09/2017 12:35

I've preordered the Look Fantastic calendar. They don't take the money out of your account until they are ready to dispatch. It will be my first beauty calendar.

I'm more interested in fragrance but very few include perfume samples. Liberty has one perfume and one scented candle. JL has a few but they are all minhers IMHO! I don't like Jo Malone (cheap colognes packaged as high end, they don't have the longevity or silage I look for in a perfume). Any recommendations?

OneInAMillionYou · 27/09/2017 19:48

Just noticed that the Selfridges AC launched today online at £120.

Can't do links on my phone but search on Selfridges.com should find it.

Million for some reason that link took me to the the Selfridges Hong Kong site, where the advent calendar is HK$1,020!
