We'll go anywhere in search of things that smell great, and then we discuss them here. Feel free to join us.

At least those are only little bottles EK Smile.

Have just read the blurb on the side of my £3 bottle of Amber Noir whilst wearing reading glasses

'Inspired by the dreamy Moroccan sands at dusk, this oriental fragrance has a heart of silky smooth white jasmine, patchouli, suede and vanilla bean surrounded by burst of spicy amber, mimicking the warm air of a desert night'

Sound quite familiar?

But I agree with the comment in the last thread that this smells most similar to a SL.

Totally addicted to Molecule 1 at the moment but need a change.
Something light yet holds its fragrance, to be worn daily, happy and fresh . Any recommendations?

Favourite light weights are No 19 and Eclat d’Arpège Lanvin.

If you have a light perfume that does not last try applying it layered with Molecule 1.

Green, staying gourmand I'd add:

Tea for Two
Traversee du Bosphore

And have you tried Dirty Honey in the autumn?

Liberty have a gift with purchase allegedly worth £390 if you spend £150 on beauty, obviously including perfume.

It's been my excuse to finally purchase Byredo Baudelaire that I've been yearning after for ages. I got a Liberty advent calendar last year, so when the gift with purchase arrives it will be handed over to Mr R to refill last year's boxes with. All about the deferred gratification me.

Morning all! Working from home today so nipped out early to pick up my eBay samples from the post office. Am already in Noontide Petals so have only had a sniff of the newbies - am particularly intrigued by JHaG's Citizen Queen so far...

Am loving the fizzy lemon-sherbet-ness of Noontide Petals, but slightly hoping that the jasmine doesn't get too overpowering. Its a 'catch the back of the throat' scent for me a lot of the time, not in a good way. It might be a bit too indolic floral for me in the end, but there's also a plasticky edge to it which I'm really enjoying. I love the fact that Tauer perfumes never ever smell they way you expect them to!

Very jealous of all these perfume related trips - Paris especially sounds wonderful!

I'm sure I've tried an almondy one from ES before but a different name? Hmmm. I shall try and remember. I am eating some chocolate covered marzipan right now btw Smile

YY to Green if you like Hypnotic Poison you should like Addict - I still have the Perfume Parlour version going free to a good home if you or anyone would like?

Pest that's interesting about the layering with Molecule 1 - I still haven't tried this Shockbut my finger keeps hovering over the Buy button - this could be the final push I need!

Kittens I have used Fragrance Direct and IIRC they sent me a load of freebie samples. It might have been The Fragrance Shop though, thinking about it. I'm so helpful Grin

SOTD lovely vintage cosy Anais Anais as I am in a nostalgic mood after finally sorting out winter clothes . I love this so much. I'm a little sad though that it's losing its old nostalgic memories slightly and becoming a "regular" - does that make sense to anyone?!

Hope everyone is settling back into work and school and routines

Sahara Noir PP dupe. It's my Dries substitute, as the sample is vanishing desperately quickly.

SOTD is Narciso Rodriguez For Her. It's cold and wet here, so I could probably have done with something a bit darker.

Hurry up, weekend.

SotD Evil Max - leather/lime shines out on me with the cherry tobacco and moss harder to discern (think I'd like it better the other way around?). Anyway, completely different vibe from all the toothsome resins of late; relatively bitter and austere, which has been interesting.

Does remind me of their other Max, Maxed Out (although think different Maxs are being referenced in each?). Think it's the lime/tobacco combo. Like this one better.

Evening all. Being back at work is infringing on my Perfume Thread activity. Damn this earning a living malarkey! Grin

Got some Notino samples today in the post. I have just spent my week's pin money on Bond No.9 Chinatown. I'm a bit niche-phobic, as I get plenty of kicks from a combination of the big perfume houses and drugstore el cheeps. So this was a dalliance in the dark for me. But I absolutely LOVE it. I need it in my life. Gorgeous, lightly oriental floral. SO excited to receive a full bottle.

Also in love with a very random sample I got: Cacharel Amor Amor. How has this passed me by?! Cheap, not fashionable...delicious...my kinda fragrance! Grin.

In seventh heaven tonight with one on each wrist.

SOTD was vintage Paris, before the sample fest commenced.

Ooh, controversial ...

Dirty Honey is one of the few 4160T's I can't stand. Maxed Out is the other one.

I feel immature sometimes, s despite leaving Pink Mingers behind me, I still find some of the ore complex sweet fragrances hard going...

Green - yes I think we have similar tastes. I've also brought out the L'Artisan Parfumeur Noir Exquis for autumn (a lovely coffee dark vanilla scent). How about Shalimar? That's a balsamic woody spicy vanilla perfect for cooler days.

Strangely given the cooler weather my SOTD was ELDO You or someone like you, which i really liked - it's very herbaceous, green and heavy on the mint. I really enjoyed smelling like a mojito at work today- I literally felt the coolness radiating from my skin. It's refreshing and would be perfect for summer days.

Kittens- I like JHAG - have you seen their discovery boxes? They're cheap as chips on their website and I've had both, there's some nice ones in there. Not groundbreaking but a good range and I enjoy wearing most of their range

MsRinky - I'm so jealous of your haul! They sold out online earlier Envy Has anyone thought about buying an advent calendar? Any decent ones out there for perfume lovers? I'm thinking of buying the Liberty one so I can use the boxes afterwards for perfume samples. And I would love to own a Diptyque candle along with all the other gorgeous stuff!

Oh someone asked about Les Senteurs closing down- it's just the Marble Arch branch which is closing next month. The Elizabeth street store is being refurbished and will open in November. Apparently they struggled with footfall at Marble Arch.

3 - I have 2ml of Chinatown coming in the post Smile. (Slowly trying to test out those LT/TS 5*s. God knows how I've managed to resist Bloom's LT loves sample pack so far...).

Hope you're doing OK ,Auld, and it's gentle sort of melancholy?

Evil Max was a vocationally inspired choice, Pest, following your example yesterday...

Bluebell - think Green might have had the 4160 Advent Calendar last year? More Envy

You need that full bottle OC Smile.

If only I could say the same MsRinky, am developing an alarming appetite for cheap and quick thrills Grin. Just the perfume you understand Smile.

With you on the almonds September/Floof, also seem to be craving pistachio, cardamon, coffee and honey. (Traversee du Bosphore arrived at just the right time). Maybe need to dig out the Noir Exquis sample and give it another go...

Anyone tried Kenzo L'Elephant?

Been through Stansted duty free today...bit underwhelmed...(note to pushy orange saleswomen- no, sticking your pink minger bottle under my nose and then offering to show me eye shadow instead is NOT going to work) Had a squirt of Cristalle and O de Lancome as was sweaty..dd bought Chanel Chance Eau Vive. Had "the brand new Miss Dior" (flanker n 769) thrust at me on a wet ribbon Hmm it was foul. Gabrielle was similarly thrust at me by Chanel lady. I said "I don't like it" and so did another woman my age. Dd quite liked it.
The only perfume I smelled that I thought "oooh that's nice" was MH Poirier something.
September- I know precisely what you mean (especially re: Anais Anais) that's why I try not to wear the real nostalgia scents too often, or too "normally" as day scents, but restrict them to night time comfort scents etc.

Bad start to the day, scent-wise. Was excited to try Citizen Queen but the only way I can describe it is that it smelled like the feeling you get when a filled tooth bites down on aluminium foil. Just...no. I will give it another go when I'm not knackered and grumpy and trying to get everyone out the door by 7am, but it was absolutely the wrong choice for this morning.

So then I went for some liberal sprays of 5 o'clock gingembre, and 30 mins later I can barely detect it!

Grrr. I have a long day at work today followed by an evening event that I could do without; this has not helped my mood! I may have to console myself with a large bun if perfume isn't going to help me out!
