Well, summer barely happened so we're ready to pack away the shorts and the kaftans and get excited about boots, cosy knits and anything new and shiny.
We're often scared to link what we're lusting after for fear of lurkers buying it before we have the chance. So if you're a lurker, come and join us.
Carrying on from here

fedup I know someone who does Pinterest worthy kids lunches (I know this through facebook, naturally Grin)

Hi little! Topshop jamies + breton would increase greatly in chicness with the aforementioned Faye bag and Gucci belt Wink I ordered my belt online, but it did take about 8 weeks! Worth it though!

queencerulean · 04/09/2017 22:14

Hi little thanks for the dress love
dream im guessing you may need to wait until next year when the s/s stuff starts filtering through. I'd say you're either a spring or winter as I reckon you can do good strong colours (I'm pretty sure you do a great red lip?). I'll have a look at dresses when I get the chance
novice I saw that advent calender thread too. Think I may be more tempted by a gin one!
stokey I used to have very separate wardrobes but after 2 years they've pretty much merged into one. Despite saying that I'd never wear jeans to work I pretty much do every day unless I know I'll be seeing patients. It's just too casual for me to dress up.

Welcome littlered stick around - it's brill here
Dream will have a look around. You always look fab.

queencerulean · 05/09/2017 08:37

Just been reading wardrobe icons as I clean my teeth.
Trends to invest in are...
Red
Tan
Trouser suit
White
Faux fur
Tote bag
Winter florals
Courdroy
Maxi coat
Boots

So pretty much the same as every winter Grin. Was also surprised to see IM Dickers as an icon. I know they're classics but probably a bit dated (and I say that as I own 2 similar versions). Also I can't imagine laura or petro wearing them.

Anyway, off to work. Dc are being spoilt for one last day by granny!

AmberNectarine · 05/09/2017 09:35

Last day of hols for me. Having a hot bath while DC have some screen time

I'm pleased slouch, stack heeled boots are back because I have a lovely original 70s pair my mum's friend gave me about 15y ago, that are perfect!

Off to dinosaur golf (don't ask) and the uniform shop today. Wish me luck!

maradesbois · 05/09/2017 10:32

Morning!

Back to school here today, all went well just hope it will be the same the other side. No packed lunches allowed in ds's school unless severe allergies etc so no bento box pressure! Kitty I must avow however a penchant for Japanese tat - went mad in a Japanese department store in hk a few years ago and came out with all sorts of cool stuff like doraemon lunch boxes with different compartments and baby chopsticks never been used

Shop yay for the belt, nice one dh!

Dream like QueenC I would think winter.

Everyone omfg me too on the holiday lbs. Have started running again but pulled a muscle at the weekend so taking a few days out. Did the shred level one this morning and starting to feel a bit better.

littlered hello! As Blair says, good accessories ordered online will help you feel more polished in your current style of jeans & breton rather than spending £££ on clothes you won't use everyday. Think you get free delivery from NAP if you spend over £200.

Need to go into town today, am going 1940s style for goodwood revival at the weekend. Have borrowed a ts tea dress from my sis which will wear with pearls, white lace gloves and black pillbox hat with veil. Want tights with the seam down the back, red lipstick and hair products to do victory roll or similar then will be good to go. Am also v tempted to buy either the APC trench or Gucci trainers, watch this space!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 05/09/2017 10:41

Ah mara DH is going to goodwood revival on Sunday with his dad, for the first time. (I'm going to Hyde Park Festival in a Day again with MIL, SIL and others... Amber are you going again?) Anyway it was funny when he realised he had to dress up... a £4 tweed jacket off eBay later, and now he's stressing what trousers to wear with it! Your outfit sounds like it'll be fab. Am a bit jealous but I'll have to make do with Take That and Shania Twain! :)

AmberNectarine · 05/09/2017 10:45

Hi littlered. Agree with Blair accessories make an outfit. I have 55 expensive party dresses in my wardrobe, which I love, but my CPW heroes are definitely bags, shoes, jewellery and belts. Oh and the odd scarf. I'm also of the opinion that jeans and coats are a good investment.

Everyonelovessparkles · 05/09/2017 11:09

mara outfit for the festival sounds great. Can really see you in that and think it will really suit you.

fedup i made the DCs fruit into pictures a couple of times, nothing too tricky just flowers, rainbows and tortoises. Though I gave up when I slaved over a fish picture only for DD to demand that she had requested a rainbow. Hmm

Hope all the back to schoolers are ok. DD starts reception on Monday. She is ready for it but still a bit apprehensive. She is the queen bee of nursery so being new will be a shock to the system!

littlered welcome! Great advice from blair and amber re accessories. I love a good bag and bracelet!

Weird weather here today. Very humid my hair is a total frizz ball and drizzley. Wearing the monsoon lace/ crochet top the same as dry's and navy jeans and my navy coach hobo bag. Looks good if I say so myself.

Good bargains in tk Maxx amber, I never see anything decent in there, though I think I'm not patient enough to trawl through all the rails.

stokey I used to sort my clothes out into sections for work, going out etc - so would have a skirt section but this would be split into work skirts and going out skirts. Over time there has become less distinction between going out and work but now I split sections into seasons.

shopafrolic · 05/09/2017 14:36

Mara and DHofBlair enjoy Revival. My friend runs all of the hair and beauty salons for Goodwood Revival. Are you getting your hair and make up done there Mara?

shopafrolic · 05/09/2017 14:37

Revival salon

princessbear80 · 05/09/2017 15:31

Love this thread, new here, Hi!

Only read up to page 6, but wanted to say thanks to Bernice... love the green bag you linked to at Brand Outlet, and more importantly the link to a website I hadn't searched yet. Found my longed for burgundy saddle bag with silver hardware here!

Some lovely links. Autumn is my favourite season!

Going back to read the rest of the thread now.

libertyonhertravels · 05/09/2017 18:48

Welcome princess Smile good work on the bag. It's lovely.

Kitty I forgot to say don't worry about Saturday. I'm just really glad I got to see you recently.

shopafrolic · 05/09/2017 19:35

Gorgeous bag Princess - welcome :)

DryWhiteagainW · 05/09/2017 20:24

Waves to Princess and little. Beautiful bag Princess.

Bought a skirt from Monsoon today for work that looks so hideous on. the website I don't dare link Grin but believe me IRL looks good DD agreed so can't be that bad

Holiday poundage prob here too, mostly on my arse Sad entirely caused by Wine but well worth it Grin

Shop glad today went well.

Wore a new pair of trousers to work yesterday. Felt something funny on my leg during the day, thought nothing of it. Got home, had shower, then felt something weird stuck to my leg........it was the spare button in that little plastic bag Grin.........no hope is there?

littleredpear · 05/09/2017 21:49

Is the Gucci belt sold out in the stores? I will be close to some big stores in the next few days.

I'm going to stroke a small Faye, just so, you know, see how I feel when I walk away from it.

queencerulean · 05/09/2017 22:01

Ha ha dry Grin
mara that sounds amazing. Must see a pic of you dressed up
amber 55?? Do you get chance to wear them all?
littleted nice bag. No often you find burgundy with silver.

I'm inspired by all the belt talk but I'm sure a designer one would be wasted on me as I'm a lazy bint most of the time and can't be bothered to put one on!

AmberNectarine · 05/09/2017 22:16

Got mine in Selfridges without issue littlered, though slightly too big so I've had to have more holes made

queen I may have slightly exaggerated for effect, but probably not that much in reality. It's at least 30+. I do wear them all, but maybe once or twice a year. I have at least five unworn, which I must rectify.

Back to work tomorrow. Urgh.

littleredpear · 05/09/2017 22:56

Yeah I know how you feel with the dresses Amber, at least 20+ and off the top of my head 5 I can think of with tags

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 06/09/2017 10:20

I don't really feel like I've had "a summer" (1 week's holiday only) but the silver lining is that I don't feel any heavier than usual Grin

little my belt was sold out in store (Gucci in new bond st) when I wanted to buy it, so I ordered online. Don't trust the website, because it said it was in stock in that shop and that delivery would be 2 weeks... it wasn't in the shop and delivery was 8 weeks! So follow Amber's advice and just go to another shop lol.

Welcome Princess, great bag, I really like Rebecca Minkoff.

AmberNectarine · 06/09/2017 15:58

Feel a bit sick - just ordered this very reasonable t shirt. Suspect some creative accounting may occur when DH see it.

Longislandicetee · 06/09/2017 16:15

Blimey Amber you're on your own there!!

shopafrolic · 06/09/2017 16:20

I love those tees Amber but that is WAAAAYYYYYYY overpriced.

maradesbois · 06/09/2017 16:22

Hello,

Was supposed to be job hunting today but got distracted by the instamums thread, didn't even know this was a thing, mistake of going outside MNV!!

I did manage some productive spending though, 2 big buys for autumn:

Gucci marmont block heeled loafers bought at liberty so should get a good discount voucher next time. Wanted black lowish block heels, was hesitating as also wanted to try the mansur gavriel ones like Marsha has in pink but liberty doesn't have them and these were sooo comfy.

Also got the APC greta trench. Is the same shape as my navy one, long and slightly a-line. Love it!

Blair shame we won't be at goodwood together, you'll have to come with dh next time.

Shop, no, haven't booked the salon although always think it looks amazing. Have looked at some YouTube tutorials for 1940s hair so going to try on my own plus having a hat helps.

princess, welcome! Lovely bag indeed.

Right, need to tidy up and get ds sorted before babysitter arrives - off out with the lovely lib as I can't make the mu.

libertyonhertravels · 06/09/2017 16:25

Holy moly amber I think I'd just barefaced lie rather than attempt anything creative. Stick with a straight faced indignant 'how dare you even suggest I paid that for t-shirt?' Grin
