Well, summer barely happened so we're ready to pack away the shorts and the kaftans and get excited about boots, cosy knits and anything new and shiny.
We're often scared to link what we're lusting after for fear of lurkers buying it before we have the chance. So if you're a lurker, come and join us.
Carrying on from here

Oh and then there's people who look really good in stylish mix and match, a few friends can really do this look.

shopafrolic · 03/09/2017 19:43

Glad you guys are feeling the new frames. DH loves them but it's quite a change for me.
DS has gone to bed crying with nerves for school tomorrow - poor little dude :(

libertyonhertravels · 03/09/2017 20:34

Oh poor DS shop. Hopefully once he's there for ten minutes he'll be fine.

Sorry for lack of comments on links, am just shattered after the packing up this week.

Longislandicetee · 03/09/2017 21:56

Oh poor miniShop. Hopefully it will all be fine tomorrow.Flowers

Exhausting day of sorting out summer homework and prepping for tomorrow.

I have come to bed early to just burn a diptique candle and play relaxing music.

Amber and Blair. Did you see Cheryl Cole wearing your belt yesterday? Be prepared to run into lots of people wearing it or fake versions!

shopafrolic · 04/09/2017 09:37

Morning all. miniShop went in ok in the end, although they changed the planned location of his classroom so that confused us Grin
My IM belt has arrived - it is a thing of beauty. I am beyond happy.

libertyonhertravels · 04/09/2017 10:07

Bernice, Everyone, One, Blair, Marsha, Amber and Dream - have just pm'd you all with details of booking for MU on Saturday.

Kitty and Stokey - pm or text me if you can make it and I'll pm details.

Looking forward to it, my last weekend in London!

libertyonhertravels · 04/09/2017 10:07

Great belt Shop, good to hear DS is ok.

kittyhello · 04/09/2017 12:49

Arghh sorry Lib I think I'm going to have to be a no 😥 still on hols and I think it's going to be too much of a mad dash.

Sorry not to comment on links, still can't open them but am assuming Amber's belt is the Gucci one which is on my wish list along with a Burberry coat for a/w might be the only 2 things I buy.

Re: style/fashion round my way it's a mix, the tennis mums usually carry Mulberry handbags/LV Neverfull/Chloe Marcie and are fairly groomed and stylish. The rest are wearing normal high street stuff - Next, etc and there's a fair bit of ott stuff going on too 😂

Stokey · 04/09/2017 15:57

I'd love to see you Lib - just haven't had a weekend at home for weeks. Will see if I can get away for a couple of hours at least.

Great belt Shop. Glad to hear MiniShop is ok. My favourite perfume is Frederic Malle - Portrait of a Lady. DH finally bought me a full bottle with his bonus this year and I love it. I also love some of the Tauer ones particularly L'air du deset Morocain and La Maroc pour Elle, they both have lots of sandalwood in which reminds me of India.

Great bag buys Bernice and Amber

I love that cobalt fur QueenC

I've picked up a couple of work basics in the Boden sale - a black blazer and some cropped wide trousers which are surprisingly flattering.

How do people separate their work and casual clothes? Feel I need to get super organised ahead of starting again.

libertyonhertravels · 04/09/2017 17:08

No worries Stokey. Have PM'ed you.

I have no great insights on how to separate work and casual clothes. In reality the two have merged more and more over last few years. My main tip is to outfit plan at least the night before if not at the weekend. Cuts the stress in the morning significantly.

AmberNectarine · 04/09/2017 17:55

I keep my work and casual clothes in different wardrobes but because my work attire is pretty formal there's not a lot of overlap tbh. Also, I'm a spoilt bitch and have three.

Everyonelovessparkles · 04/09/2017 18:41

Lots of lovely links to bring us into A/W.

Love the choos from Paris amber as well as the LV and belt.

Am tempted by some grey jeans after the discussion on here. Saw some Levi's online that I might try out.

Really need to start some kind of restraint on treats and restart the exercise regime as a summer of indulgence is really starting to show. Sad

Saw a couple of things on the outnet that I'm deliberating, will link if I decide to purchase.

Looking forward to seeing some of you on Saturday. Thinking about outfits! Weather looks dry but humid Hmm.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 04/09/2017 19:18

Stokey can't help but look forward to hearing ideas... my work and home clothes are really only separated in my head Confused and there is a bit of overlap but not loads (knitwear really).

Had a clothes faux pas today. I was wearing this dress, which isn't lined, with lace top hold ups and the lace was totally visible through the dress Blush. I had to take them off in the loo. Need to buy a slip next time I'm in M&S.

No idea what to wear on Saturday. So tired of all this muggy weather!

Dreamqueen · 04/09/2017 20:14

Love the bag Amber

Hope mini shop has settled ok .

Contact lens update. Vision Express have been marvellous, Specsavers not so much. Waiting to trial a slightly new prescription from VE before buying. They were so non pressuring to buy and very attentive to detail. DP says contacts show up my under eye bags but I love the ability to put on eye make up while being able to see what I'm doing. I even managed to put false eyelashes on at the weekend. First time ever.

I'm very sad to be missing MU but feel that I should host DS and Dil. They don't need to see me full of gin before leaving their precious dog in my care for 2 weeks.

I have a major family wedding (nephew ) coming up in March next year. Much as I say I'll be thinner, I've resigned myself to being a slightly chubby 12/14. It's in the Tropics. I'd like to fine my outfit ASAP. Budget is £300 max. Frills and flounces don't really suit me. My best silhouette is a structured shift dress. I'd be happy to go up to £500 for the perfect dress. Help please. Not totally sure of my colouring, Kettlewell says I'm a winter. I want to be the most glam auntie, I'm travelling miles for the wedding. Smile

Hope first day back at school has been great for all DC

AmberNectarine · 04/09/2017 21:01

Everyone I feel that - I've put on half a stone with my summer of indulgence! Had fun in the process though. Will shift it in time to put it on again for Xmas, I imagine!

Randomly found this trenchh in TK Maxx today for £25. Really good quality and fits like a dream so I'm very pleased with it! I do like a bit of animal print - will be a good transitional piece . Also picked up this dresss for when I have to pretend to be a grown up at work.

V excited about the MU. No idea what I'll wear, but I think I have to build it around the Choos, no?

AmberNectarine · 04/09/2017 21:02

Oh, arse. Formatting fail.

AmberNectarine · 04/09/2017 21:02

How was DS at pick up shop?

shopafrolic · 04/09/2017 21:10

Summer fun showing in my tummy too. Worth it though Smile
I've just bought an IM etoile peacoat on trinny's FB page. Described as brand new, paid £75 for it. Hoping it's legit.
Amber he did good and came out smiling so hopefully tomorrow will be easier. Certainly bedtime was better Smile

FedupNagging · 04/09/2017 21:15

Can't believe I've not been on here for over a week Blush and lots of lovely links - too many to comment on each individually but safe to say apart from a few questionable items from Queen they were all pretty decent.

Hope all the dc's had a good day back at school - always a shock after a long break!

Lib I am so sad at missing your final MU, I hope you have a great send off. I know you will all have lots of Wine [fizz]

Off on hols tomorrow (not packed a single thing yet Shock ) but once back, and ds is packed off to Uni, I will be able to concentrate on A/W clothes - assuming I have any money left that is! Dh thinks not Hmm

FedupNagging · 04/09/2017 21:17

I don't seem to be able to 'like' pins on pinterest any longer - does anyone else have that problem?

Longislandicetee · 04/09/2017 21:25

Glad to hear miniShop is all good. I had the problem at the opposite end of the day. 2 very fractious and emotional children, especially dd.

That dress is very Mouret like Amber!

I have just been looking at beauty advent calendars on another thread. I am tempted by Jo Malone this year though the Molton Brown one sounds great too.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 04/09/2017 21:26

They removed the like function fedup. It's all "Tried it" now (useless)

FedupNagging · 04/09/2017 21:35

Whilst trying to work out the 'tried it' on Pin, I came across the latest in children's packed lunches:

Bento boxes, Hands up any one who goes to this much trouble......anyone?!

Longislandicetee · 04/09/2017 21:51

Ha!! No chance!! Dd has mentioned a couple of times getting a packed lunch. I said no way, the mornings are stressful enough with all the things we cart in!!!

littleredpear · 04/09/2017 21:57

Place marking on this lovely thread to get some ideas. I've lots of spends but very rural so zero shopping options.

I want a black Chloe Faye bag, the much loved Gucci belt and something to wear that's not Topshop Jamie's and a Breton.

I do love the navy lace whistles Dress at the start of the thread 😍
