Well, summer barely happened so we're ready to pack away the shorts and the kaftans and get excited about boots, cosy knits and anything new and shiny.
We're often scared to link what we're lusting after for fear of lurkers buying it before we have the chance. So if you're a lurker, come and join us.
Carrying on from here

Lib you pulled off a great capsule wardrobe which worked really well for you.* Am Envy at you basking in the sun right now. Enjoy every moment of it, you’ve worked your socks off and glad to hear you’re getting some well deserved down time.*

Serenite such a lovely dress

Amber cannot believe the SA thought 90cm belt would be good for you Shock

BerniceBobsHerHair · 26/10/2017 09:28

One the ordinary have a caffeine eye cream which is supposed to be good for dark circles, I haven't tried it myself but think I will.

Serenite that is a lovely dress, I agree the Cos shoes would look good (inciting you to spend more though which I know you said you didn't want to do)

Lib I am ignoring your most recent post Grin

Thanks for posting the capsule wardrobe, as you may remember I am quite a fan of project 333. I think I need to accessorise more though!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 26/10/2017 11:23

thanks for the tips about eye cream shop and bernice i will look into them. I feel like i have to do something now as the bags spoil my otherwise relatively 'fresh' look, i basically just look shattered all the time haha

lib sounds like you are having a really great time, you deserve it my lovely Smile

Need to pack my back for next week, i don't remember if i said i'm going up north to look after MIL's dog or not but that's what i'm doing so i suppose i don't really need to take much as i'll be able to wash what i do take. I just like to have plenty of options Grin

DryWhiteagainW · 26/10/2017 11:54

Heloooooo lovelies.....its been a few days and taken a while to catch up.

QueenC you know I'm here my friend. Flowers

I tried the Shop yoga move in my bedroom earlier.......bloody nearly dislocated my neck, it's not easy and i got stuck. Will stick to my loony classes for now although I'm considering Pilates . My problem Sleep is if I don't get hot and sweaty I don't think I'm doing any good, and TBH im v hyperactive and yoga/Pilates are too slow and controlled for me. I think as you get older they are better, more sustainable classes to do......and all the women I know who do either have incredible bodies.

Liberty what a brilliant capsule wardrobe and what a blissful time it sounds as if you're having. Enjoy.

My grey bag is fab. I've worn it every day so far this half term and will be wearing it to go 'dropping' tomorrow. I was told about this term shopping and drinking last night and wonder why we have never keyed it here before. Voguette so are the masters of this art no? Grin

Serenite · 26/10/2017 14:27

Thanks for the suggestions and I agree Lib and Bernice that those Cos ones are gorgeous but they are a little in the low heel side and pricey - this wedding so far is invovling another evening dress, travel, hotel, a wedding nanny for the weekend (and that's just me!) so I'm trying to go budget though don't know how realistic that is!! My ideal ones are

I have budget ones to link (it's all new so have to do it separately so I don't loose this post 😉 Baby steps!!). Will link below.

One and who ever else was looking at the sleep cream, M&S are doing a 20% reduction on clothes and beauty. Enjoy your time at your mums house.

Hi kitty and thanks, I love the dress; love the colour and style, it was unavailable for a long time so I was delighted to get it.

Lib I loved your list and can't wait to study it properly. Enjoy yourself in that beautiful place!!!

Dry I'm sure you'll enjoy 'dropping' - I've never heard the expression before, is funny! Your bag is beautiful, nothing like a new bag!!

Serenite · 26/10/2017 14:34

These ones??? Please feel free to give honest opinions.

DryWhiteagainW · 26/10/2017 16:35

Serenite I love that dress. It has a real 70s vibe and the velvet platforms would be perfect with it.....very chic. If I saw you dressed like that at a wedding I'd be a bit in awe at your coolness ....

Serenite · 26/10/2017 18:46

Seriously Dry?? Oh I am pleased - didn't know if they looked bit cheap and nasty but I often mix Asda with bit of Hermes so maybe I'm on track with this look 🤔 Doesn't always have to be expensive/designer and I think that shoe style would look better than louboutins.
I really take on board your opinion - an surrounded by boys here and need the stylish voguettes 😉

Everyonelovessparkles · 26/10/2017 20:08

Dress is lovely serenite. The velvet platforms in that teal colour would look great, but unless you can find a reasonable priced version maybe you just stick with your original idea if you don’t want to incur more costs? Unless you think you would get more wear out of the velvet platforms in the long run?

Glad you are having a lovely time lib. Capsule wardrobe was great. Thanks for taking the time to share. I think you are right in that accessories can really ‘lift’ an otherwise simple outfit.

Never heard of dropping before either dry , hope you have a good day. Glad you are getting good wear out of the bag already.

I’d be interested in a good eye cream too, I’m paying the price of years of squinting when I was too vain to wear my glasses.

Didn’t make it to the Bella Freud sample sale. Took DD to a trampoline park instead. There’s one not too far from me and amber. She really enjoyed it.

I read an interesting blog article the other day that said you are better off using budget to buy pre loved classics rather than £300 jumpers. Given I was thinking of getting a Bella Freud / wyse London jumper , it made me think, but after consideration I think I would still rather have the jumper I want than buy a classic / investment piece, what do others think? Buy what you want or use budget more wisely by investing in classics?? I guess it might also depend what is on your ‘list’. I think blair has bought sensibley this year with her Burberry trench and Gucci belt purchases and not splashed out too much on ad hoc purchases, but then these 2 items were on her list. Sorry, just rambling as thinking out loud....

Not to bore everybody but these are the ones I tried to link above and just got a google search.

FedupNagging · 26/10/2017 21:21

Thanks for the dress link Serenite, it's gorgeous and definitely go for velvet platforms, they'll work so well with the style and colours. The pair from Very would do it - as would the Prada - natch Grin

Never heard of the term dropping either but have obviously taken part over the years and come back with some questionable purchases anyway, have fun Dry

Lib I am sooo Envy of you right now but you do indeed deserve some r&r. When do you fly to NZ?

libertyonhertravels · 27/10/2017 07:54

We don't fly to NZ until mid Nov *fedup" so still plenty of r&r time to go.

Everyone I think the 'classic items are personal. And a jumper will get plenty of wear.

kittyhello · 27/10/2017 10:00

Every I’m with Fedup re: classic purchases.* I’m buying less and less each year and erring more towards classic items but it really it a personal choice. The jumper will give you much more joy than a classic item you’re don’t truly love. If you really want the jumper go for it.*

Lib glad you’ve got more down time.**

Longislandicetee · 27/10/2017 10:36

Morning! Just a quick one to say hello to everyone and a big hug for QueenC.

shopafrolic · 27/10/2017 11:01

Do any of you lovely Voguettes work in banking? I need some help if anyone can PM me. Flowers
And a huge hug for QueenC

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 27/10/2017 12:28

Sorry no Shop but hope you get it sorted asap.

Also sending hugs and good thoughts for QueenC.

Serenite I didn't have time to open my boohoo order last night but I ordered this body suit and this shirt. Will report back!

Everyone thanks for saying I've been sensible with purchases. I don't feel like I have, and I feel constantly torn between buying classics and trendy pieces! How do you all balance it? I need another clearout so maybe this weekend...

I've become obsessed with Holly Willoughby's style the last few days (last one to the party it seems) and am going to try and channel her for workwear. She wears lovely bright colours a lot too, which I know suit me, but I always default to navy.

DryWhiteagainW · 27/10/2017 21:28

I have the miracle cream Shop! Will report back in a week.

I dropped till I dropped.....always fun. No cheeky purchases, was very restrained. Saw plenty in Hush though, first time I've actually touched it, nice quality. COS has a lot of great stuff in too.

Everyone I've been thinking about your question. I think investing in a certain amount of considered classics is a great idea, but a wardrobe, for me at least, needs to be practical and varied which is why mixing classic investment pieces with mostly high st stuff works best for me.
That said, pieces I've lusted after for ages and saved up for are always my favourites.

queencerulean · 28/10/2017 09:28

Hey all, thank you for thinking of me. The ring arrived and I love it. I feel so much more me with lots of rings on again.

Right now I can’t think of much s&b but when I can I’m going on the biggest fantasy shop ever! So look forward to all the links!

OP posts:
kittyhello · 28/10/2017 11:31

Glad you love the ring QueenC look forward, as always, to your fantasy shop when you’re up to it Flowers xx

MarshaBrady0 · 28/10/2017 12:03

Nice Lib, soak it up, so good.

Need to catch up, but first post with new registration Sad

The 0 in my name is my shocked face. I finally got logged off mn with no way in Sad password fails all round.

I feel like my bra strap is showing, my skirt is in my knickers. I need my name back.

This week has been crazy but really good. Up at 5am - 6.00am every day, back past midnight - my parents are so active it is kind of impressive.

Also just signed architect contract, hope that's not famous last words!, but am excited.

So loads of good shows and Paris was great.

Also saw Aida the opera. Is there anyone here that loves the opera?

MarshaBrady0 · 28/10/2017 12:04

Oh my and since I've done that my whole page is backwards, now I'm responding to Lib who I thought posted last, ah, Really dislike my post in purple too, need to change!

QueenC really pleased to hear about the ring.

Serenite · 28/10/2017 12:33

Will read all new posts later but wanted to say I'm glad you've got your ring Queenc - I've had a look to see the design and they are really beautiful. Wear it and when you look at it let it make you stronger 😇

Longislandicetee · 28/10/2017 16:05

My Luella Giselle arrived and is gorgeous! Between the Luella Giselle, Mulberry Roxanne and Chloé Paddington, lies a trio that I wish I had got the first time around but was too sillysensible at the time. The only other bag that I really wanted was a Gucci Jackie in the tan canvas. I have it in the black.

Marsha I love the opera! I don't get to go often enough, usually 1/2 times per year. Those people are so talented. You sound like you have had such an great time with your parents. Smile

Must mention my ootd - ysl breton cashmere sweater (forever now associated with Shop), faded black j crew matchstick jeans, grey lowland boots, burberry quilted jacket (not the ones you linked the other day Marsha!!) and Gucci Jackie handbag. My watch is oasis watch which is in a poor state but I refuse to bin, merci mamman leather bracelet with the names of dh and the dcs on there and an aquamarine and diamond ring. Feel good, makes me happy.

Amber glad to hear you're okay.

FedUp congratulations!

Love and squeezy hugs to QueenC and hugs and waves to everyone else!

DryWhiteagainW · 28/10/2017 19:40

Marsha that made me laugh....

I'm thinking of wearing my leather pencil skirt to Christmas dos this year? With a sequinned vest? Perhaps gold? Am I nuts? Has anyone seen any sequinned vests no black I'm lazy.

Today....khaki skinnies, black slouchy sweater, animal pointy flats.

Blingy love the bag.

Longislandicetee · 28/10/2017 22:58

Hello! Just back from the theatre. Leather skirt and sequins sounds great Dry. Think that would suit you. Lots of sequins coming out in the stores now!

Has anyone used Sally Hansen miracle gel? I bought some today and decided to give it a go. I don't have time to go to the salon and having suffered from serious chipping issues this week (with little time to resolve them) I am more motivated to find a solution!
