Well, summer barely happened so we're ready to pack away the shorts and the kaftans and get excited about boots, cosy knits and anything new and shiny.
We're often scared to link what we're lusting after for fear of lurkers buying it before we have the chance. So if you're a lurker, come and join us.
Carrying on from here

dry I saw these black heeled pumps in John Lewis but the toe might be too rounded? The WIT instagram picture was from last winter, so you'd have to scroll back quite a lot to get to it!

fedup I saw these scallop edge courts in John Lewis too and they reminded me of the Chloe shoes that mara and blingy have that you said you liked.

Sorry to hear you are feeling down queenc. Maybe the stress of back to school / new school, the change in weather and bit of summer weight gain is just getting to you? But hopefully thins might settle down soon. Flowers

Love the pink jumper queenc linked for shop.

Hope your DH is feeling a bit better one and that you are too.

Nice outfit blingy and well done on the heels!

I've been reading the thread but not got much to add as I haven't got much on my A/W wish list and most of it is quite functional - winter coat, black every day shoes, red polo neck etc I do fancy a midi length floral dress though, but so far am having no luck finding ones I just don't like a lot of the floral patterns out there, so might have to give up on this idea.

Am enjoying this last burst of sun we've had over the last couple of days. Hope you're all having good weekends.

shopafrolic · 24/09/2017 16:18

QueenC you know me too well Grin

DryWhiteagainW · 24/09/2017 20:48

Everyone I love Lk Bennet quality. These shoes are almost perfect, think the bow is not really me though. Thanks though.
Shop that jumper would really suit you. QueenC can you dress me please ? Grin

Warning my iPad dying charger had died, about to run out of charge do I'll be on phone until a new one arrives. Apologies if my posts make no sense Grin you all know my phone sabotages everything!!!!

Longislandicetee · 24/09/2017 20:55

Dry I will see what's around!

Those Chloé dupes look good. I have to say I totally love mine. I have a pair of R&B block heel flats that look very much like the LKB ones you linked Everyone and I have to say compared to the Chloé ones, they're not as pretty.

We went to an afternoon party today. I wore black and white flowery Alexander McQueen dress with a white primark cardigan (think this was an MU outfit), my afore mentioned Chloé heels and grey givenchy antigona bag. Two of the girls were wearing Manolo Blahnik hangisi pumps. I have wanted a pair for ever. My leg wasn't knackered I might have wripped them of their feet.Grin

kittyhello · 24/09/2017 21:24

Blingy your outfits sound great, glad you're back in the heels, bet it felt good.

Flowers Queen you have great style, you know you do, love the colour of the Ash Virgins btw, mine are back out for a/w they're so comfy.

Oh One sorry to hear about your cat Sad this brand keep following me every time I log on, saw this star print sweater and thought of you

Marsha glad the move went well, great GR boots, I'd be so scared to wear them, I'd wreck them on the first outing.

Stokey you sound super busy with your new job, can't believe the zip broke on your AVirgins, you bought yours around the same time as me didn't you?

Lib gah your phone, hope all is not lost, glad you're managing to have some lovely 1:1 time with dh

Had to re-buy some merino jumpers and couldn't find any Jcrew codes so Uniqlo it is, they're not exciting so won't link Grin although this time I'm trying V neck instead of crew neck and a half sleeve one too - go me Wink

DryWhiteagainW · 25/09/2017 07:48

Looking at JCrew knitwear....what's the sizing like? So many different smalla! Xs,xxs,xxxs....... how small is small Hmm

kittyhello · 25/09/2017 08:08

Dry a small fits me comfortably. XS is a bit tight when I'm at normal weight but okay when I've lost a few pounds. A medium is a little roomy. I have all 3 sizes and normally like to wear my jumpers fairly fitted without too much bagginess.

shopafrolic · 25/09/2017 08:14

A little bit about what seasons can were what reds by my local stylist I really like the Funday jumper - shame it's MMF central and OOS

Longislandicetee · 25/09/2017 08:51

Dry I am xxs or 00 in j crew. That correlates to your "typical" size 6 uk. I have one knit in xxxs which I experimented with because the xxs are slightly loose but xxxs definitely feels snug.

Thanks Kitty. Link your sweaters!!

Ootd is me+em ruched dress - this might be the 4th autumn/winter, such a staple (cpw in the pennies by now!), with the dull r&b shoes I described last night and a parka trench. I am a mix of blingy colours today. Diamond and emerald earrings, tanzanite and diamond ring, sapphire and diamond bracelet and a Swarovski necklace with a big blue crystal (no idea what crystal!). Oh and my Tag diamond watch and usual Tiffany trio. Written down I realise I am a muggers dream. Hmm

maradesbois · 25/09/2017 10:35

Morning Voguettes,

Grin at muggers dream! Glad you are brightening up this dull morning though Blingy.

Am back from a few days away in Italy with a friend, bit of a luxury considering school has just gone back albeit marred by a shocking cold that I just can't shake off.

QueenC sorry you're feeling a bit down. I deliberately avoid too much school gates chat, don't think it's healthy. We all have our moments of self-doubt but it will pass. Your recent buys show that style-wise you know yourself and what makes you happy, no need to be intimidated into competing with the crowd. How is dd settling into 'big school'?

Stokey I swooned at the MD green dress you linked for me, need to try it on! The one you linked for Marsha is gorgeous too. I actually saw a woman wearing it when I was away but didn't realise where it was from, looked v high end. You mentioned work was full on, are you enjoying it though? Am going to pm you with questions if that's ok as have the opportunity to possibly go full time at the place where I did my placement and am getting stressed thinking about it, overthinking the cons! Dh is just do whatever you want but would love to talk it through with someone in same situation.

Shop I adore the pink jumper for you! Fwiw am v picky about fabric too but the cotton content and price point would be ok for me there I think.

Marsha glad you're settled in new house. Is it similar area or different?

Lib glad all good with your travels apart from phone palaver, it all sounds so liberating.

Am going to be trying to limit the spends over next couple of months as a challenge to myself to be a bit more frugal and enjoy what I have. Before this decision was taken however did an outnet order for these two gems:

chunky cardigan. Am wearing this as a coat atm on cool, dry days.

equipment shirt. Love the colours and pattern.

maradesbois · 25/09/2017 10:52

Oh and Shop, speaking as one who knows you need silk scarf à la grace kelly. Protects from wind and hair won't get static but must be silk.

libertyonhertravels · 25/09/2017 11:07

Mara good news about the job offer! Good idea to think it through properly though - other option is to just decide to do it for 1 year or 18 months - gets a decent chunk of experience on the CV while in your head any inconvenience is temporary.

Also - how do you keep a silk scarf in your hair? I have a few and was playing around with them as it's an option in the sun instead of a hat but silk scarves just seem to slide off???? Hints and tips v welcome.

The print on that Equipment shirt is gorgeous.

I am super relaxed - currently on my second coffee, still in my pjs, heading out shortly for a walk on the beach as it is a glorious day, too nice to waste in the gym. After the beach walk I'm going to go for a potter around a new antiques place I spotted yesterday.

Blingy never mind being mugged, you'll take someone's eye out with the sparkle level Grin

maradesbois · 25/09/2017 11:59

lib, yes, initially they were talking about 8 months mat cover which was much more in my comfort zone whereas this would be a permanent contract. I know that doesn't mean I have to stay for the rest of my working life but in my head it's panic stations! When I did the placement I loved the buzz of being at work but have kind of settled into being at home again which don't think is necessarily a good thing for me. For the time being I have said would love to meet them to discuss further but need time to put childcare in place at home - will see how that fits with their plans.

I've done plenty outside the home post dc like study and the internship but haven't worked full time since ds was born, think it's partly the fear of going back to being a wage slave with 4 weeks off a year that's alarming me but as dh (helpfully) pointed out that's what keeps the world turning! Think your idea of visualising it as 12 months experience to start with is a good one.

For the headscarf you can put a couple of clips but I normally just wrap the ends round my neck and tie at the back of the neck. Don't think I'd wear it in the sun though.

Shop agree with you that the Versace show with the '90s supermodels was amazing. Used to love reading about Cindy, Naomi & co when I was at school. Was in Naples when Versace was shot, people were weeping.

FedupNagging · 25/09/2017 12:31

After a hectic week and weekend away I'm hopefully going to be able to keep up on here.

One sorry you're feeling unwell and very sad to hear about your cat; try to keep positive. On a totally frivolous plus point, the star jumper Kitty linked is fab. Maybe treat yourself.

Queen don't be too hard on yourself, you're doing a brilliant job on all fronts. Those Ash virgins are lush. Oh and I second Mara, limit your school gate chats.

Mara the job offer sounds good but I get the panic over going ft.

I want that red jumper your stylist is wearing Shop!

Lib your day is sounding very relaxed Envy I am assuming you didnt find your phone?

Stokey thanks for the shoe link - they look perfect so am about to order.

Whilst shopping with Ds3 last week I managed a quick look in H&M and found lots of lovely things - they've definitely upped their game recently draw a discreet line over the mmf
Grey coat
Wrapover blouse
Polo neck
all caught my eye.

FedupNagging · 25/09/2017 13:02

That was lucky, only 2 pairs left in my size - phew!

BerniceBobsHerHair · 25/09/2017 14:30

Is that the JL shoes Fedup? I like those too...

Mara sounds like a lot to think about. Love the Equipment shirt.

QueenC I have recently bought some Ash virgins too - some off white ones, they seem to go with a lot - but I will join you on the late adopters bench.

Love that pink jumper for Shop and also the Sophia Webster trainers, quite tempted which would be the first and last most likely time that I buy one of QC's fantasy links.

One I agree with Fedup you should treat yourself. I think I have also seen them at Baukjen.

Outfits sound good Blingy. Glad for you that you can wear heels again.

Lib you sound like you are having a lovely time, and have a plan re your phone now.

I was pleased to find a grey check Burberry blazer at Oxfam Online, as I had been looking out for one, especially after admiring Amber's check blazer at the MU.

I have a yen for these boots though but probably wouldn't get much wear out of them.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 25/09/2017 14:34

D'oh - forgot to link the boots - these

FedupNagging · 25/09/2017 16:28

Yes it was the JL block heels - Chloe dupes! I am now wondering what I will wear them with besides crop flares and skinnies...

Which reminds me, I wore my cropped flares with the frayed hems last week and my friend asked did I not want to bother getting them hemmed? Hmm there was me thinking I looked stylish Grin

FedupNagging · 25/09/2017 16:28

Meant to say fab red boots but not sure about the socks with holes!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 25/09/2017 18:36

after fruitless battling of whatever has made me ill, i went to the doctors and i have pneumonia!! of all things, i mean really, barely a few weeks into autumn and i have pneumonia!! no wonder im so ill though, there was me thinking it was just a viral thing when really i should have gone tot he doctors days ago. never mind, ive got the appropriate medications now with strict instructions to demand emergency appointments if my breathing gets worse and if its outside of gp times, then im to go to a&e as per drs orders. Sad

queencerulean · 25/09/2017 19:45

Oh one, you poor thing. Rest up Flowers and [tea]. Definitely need to treat yourself from your sick bed.
fedup, I rarely go in H&M anymore (apart from for kids wear) but a friend had a lovely dress from there so maybe should investigate. It always feels like you have to search for good stuff though.
mara exciting times but I don't blame you for being wary about full time.

I was totally underdressed today. Stupidly believed my dm who said it was going to be 24 degrees today! I was freezing!

OP posts:
AmberNectarine · 25/09/2017 20:03

Oh one that's rough - I had it the year of the Rocco expedition (nothing gets between me and a bag) and I felt bloody ropey enough without being immunocompromised. Get well soon!

Bernice well jel - blazer sounds awesome!

Blingy you'd be proud - DH got me diamond studs for our anniversary and I've worn them, two necklaces and my rings EVERY DAY.

Still loving my Gucci tee - so OTT but it makes me happy every time I put it on. Also picked up a pair of straight leg, high rise, raw hem jeans in H&M (£7 in the sale!) which update everything and feel really now. Wearing non-stop, along with these shoes, which are fabulous quality for the price.

Think I'll buy Gucci loafers in the near future and the JW Anderson x Uniqlo pin stripe trousers which I tried and loved.

shopafrolic · 25/09/2017 20:04

Blimey One! Rest up love. Hugs for you.
For those of you who love all things skincare then Trinny has just posted a great skincare video to her Facebook page with Caroline Hirons - talking all things spots, milia and hormonal acne. Really interesting.

SeaRabbit · 25/09/2017 20:41

Delurking to say that Emma Hope may be a good source of replacement elegant flats. This one for example:

http://www.emmahope.com/productinfo.php/cPath/1133_144/products_id/1632

Her shoes last and last - I have never worn a pair out though I have worn them so much I have to have them re-soled.

littleredpear · 25/09/2017 21:04

Hello all, I'm still here and reading. Just got a few minutes to post. Loving all the links.

Lib - hope your phone has been sorted. I was lost without mine.

Queen- hope it starts to feel better soon.

Belt has proven to be a really great buy.

Headed to London on Friday and spent the weekend with DH eating and wandering and it was lovely. Last year or so have been tough relationship wise so it's always good to spend time just us.

I spotted a million outfits which have made me feel inspired, I might try the stans and a dress trend and I have my eye on a lovely star Self Portrait dress in red.
dress

If I only had somewhere to wear it! Much like Amber I have a lot of dresses.

Big news of the weekend was DH offered to by me a little present for our anniversary. We had a look but I'm really not a jewellery person, I have lots and most days I only wear a ring and a bracelet. I'm buying myself a watch as my 40th present.

So over lunch he asked me what I really would like to buy and we headed for Chanel. A small heart attack later (DH) and I'm now the proud owner of some shoes. They might never leave the house but I love them.

I know I should have opted for jewellery as a long term investment but they make my heart sing.

Weirdly I now have to go buy some comfy shoes for my holiday Grin
