Well, summer barely happened so we're ready to pack away the shorts and the kaftans and get excited about boots, cosy knits and anything new and shiny.
We're often scared to link what we're lusting after for fear of lurkers buying it before we have the chance. So if you're a lurker, come and join us.
Carrying on from here

Lib I am weeping for you - hope you find it. I assume you've already tried ringing it? When you get a replacement please get an iPhone - the Find My Phone app is really handy (plus I can FaceTime you for free when you leave).
Serenite if you are on Facebook I'd recommend selling on Trinny Woodall's page. It's called #trinnytribe clothes swap. No EBay fees.

Longislandicetee · 20/09/2017 14:31

Oh Lib you poor thing. Just dashing to my meetings for the day but is your phone a Samsung? If so then go into your Samsung account and click on "Find my mobile". It might be able to tell you the last place that your mobile was. It's not as good as find my iPhone though.

The other thing is if you go onto your mobile account online you can usually see all the numbers you have called and texted each month. Worse that can help you build up your contacts. X

Stokey · 20/09/2017 21:50

Oh so sorry to hear about your phone Lib, it's such an easy thing to do, don't beat yourself up about it too much.

One of my friends was swearing by a herbal remedy called Agnus Castus Justa. She said it really helped her PMS & meant to be good for peri- menopause too (she's early 40s).

Thanks for boots love. I haven't worn then yet. Work is full on, I'm struggling to remember how we coped last time I had a job, I haven't been full time since before Dd1 was born so nearly 8 years.

My work wardrobe could do with a bit of updating, but will do for now. I wore a Reiss dress I've had for 4 years today and a Zara blazer that's even older! Haven't quite got the layering right - baking on the tube & freezing in the office- but I'll get there.

What's everyone after still this season? I need a winter coat - haven't bought a smart one for a few years - some knee high black boots, and a midi dress.

libertyonhertravels · 20/09/2017 22:01

serenite you made me laugh with the advice to get St Anthony on the case! There are several family members onto him atm on my behalf Smile. I am wading through loads of old emails in various accounts as I am fairly certain I have a gmail linked to the phone that I never used so there's an outside chance if I can locate that (no idea of the email address) I may be able to retrieve a few things. To make matters worse I had the phone on mute so no amount of walking up and down calling it was ever going to work. That said it rained all night and all day today so I'd say it's completely dead now.

Shop and Blingy I had a Sony phone - nothing fancy but gets very good reviews. I have an old Motorola one so I am just waiting for the replacement SIM and I'll use that for a while. DD has calmed down as DH has shown her he has lots of photos on his phone too and people have sent him copies of photos I had shared...it will all be ok

Onto fashion - this Gucci-esque Accessorise bag really caught my eye today and so did these M&S boots

AmberNectarine · 20/09/2017 23:08

Oh lib losing my phone is my worst nightmare. I've tried really hard in recent years (example: leaving it in WEMBLEY STADIUM) but 'find my iPhone' has always led me back to it. For that reason alone I am immovably loyal to Apple. Hope your replacement arrives pronto.

Not got much fashion news, other than I've ordered a baker boy cap. This will be interesting because that was 'my look' from 2000-02, so I'll be interested to see how it works for me now!

Loved my outfit today - skinny black trousers, black Stuart Weitzman Glove boots, Black Zara frayed hem sweater over white shirt, this Gucci collar and my prince of Wales check Zara blazer cinched in with my black Gucci belt.

Serenite · 20/09/2017 23:53

That outfit sounds lovely amber. I've been reading this forum for ages, I remember when you bought that choker and thinking 'wow' love it 😍
I phoned HN's today to see if I can track down one of those Gucci belts but told they we're all sold out. I'm going shopping tomorrow in Manchester, might try the men's dept as I think I've read somewhere that someone bought a mans belt which worked well - anyone remember this?

I'm glad you laughed at that Lib and hope you retrieve the videos/pictures/contacts, I guess St A works in different ways 😇
I don't Facebook but I did look at that Trinny site after it was mentioned here recently, looked great and I remember was it stokey (?) was pleased with a coat she got on it. Will have to figure out either eBay or Facebook to start moving things, I seem to read that a lot of people have issues with eBay, has it fallen out of fashion, does anyone here still use it?

shopafrolic · 21/09/2017 08:21

It was me Serenite - I bought an IM peacoat from the FB page - perfect condition.
I still use EBay occasionally but sell most of my things locally on Facebook pages to avoid the fees. Vestiaire is also worth a look if you are selling designer items.

Serenite · 21/09/2017 08:55

Thank you Shop, I remembered someone had made a purchase she was delighted with from that site. Yes I'll get on the ball, am still sorting, lots to sell, mostly 'high end' high street (as it's called 🤔) but some designer things, mostly bags and shoes.
I don't know how to link and sorry it's from the daily M but did anyone see Queen Maxima from the Netherlands yesterday in New York - if you Google that it should bring up a picture- she was wearing a red trouser suit, red blouse, red bag and shoes - OMG stunning - I'd love to recreate that outfit for a wedding I've got coming up!!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 21/09/2017 10:24

thank you serenite i don't often feel i've got much style truth told and I'm constantly fending off accusations from family members that i 'dress like a teenager'!

still feeling rough, whatever i've got went straight to my chest so i've coughing horribly and my ribs feel like they've done a few rounds with a boxer!

Hope the gmail account comes up trumps for you lib

Dp has asked me what i want for christmas (sorry!) and i can't think of a single thing i want. he doesn't usually buy me clothes as my size is so variable in different shops so that's out. Wondering about a bag or a new camera maybe. Is anyone else thinking forward about what they would like or is too early in the year yet?

shopafrolic · 21/09/2017 13:25

One for you Amber? Or Blingy?

MrsPear · 21/09/2017 16:42

Hello

Sorry about the phone. One of the reasons h presented me with an I phone was my ability to put down my phone and forget it.

Ootd was khaki chinos, white jumper and denim jumper. Not exactly high fashion but still out of tunics and skinnies.

My lace dress is here. Shorter than I normally wear but it is very comfortable. I am going for sheers and courts. Oh and a hot pink clutch - thanks amber. The sparkly one arrived. As I thought I needed the 12 for hips but it must designed for drag queens or very tall women. I'm 5 91/2 in heels and it was still a couple of inches too long. So the hunt continues.

MrsPear · 21/09/2017 16:45

Here was the navy dress btw H of F bargain

TheMightyMing · 21/09/2017 20:26

I'm back ! Been packing DS off to uni and dealing with the attendant fallout!

Advice please, I've seen a pair of rag and bone trousers in TK maxx, anyone ever bought anything from R and B- thoughts?

LIb, I've just thrown a prayer St Anthony's way for your phone. I've got a Novena booklet to him upstairs so I'll give that a go too .

DryWhiteagainW · 21/09/2017 21:26

Popping in to say hello.
Amber great ootd as ever.
Everyone I'll have a look for our lace blouse on WIT.
I'm straight into my winter wardrobe, today wore my Me and Em layering shirt under a black merino crew neck, boots, plaques and grey skirt, not at all too hot.
Totally uninspired at the moment. Nothing spectacular in the shops. I'm saving a lot of money.

TheMightyMing · 21/09/2017 22:30

Ahhh merino - anyone have any recommendations. My favourite is a Fenn Wright Manson grey sweater from TK maxx but it's been worn to death and has sprung a hole, I'm not complaining as I've more than had my money's worth !

DryWhiteagainW · 21/09/2017 22:45

Ming J Crew, Gap, Uniqlo are my fav merino shops........I love the stuff, have loads .

shopafrolic · 22/09/2017 07:59

MingI have R&B jeans and they are good. Same recommendations as Dry for merino. Loads on the Outnet too if you search by merino.
I'm considering spending £15 on HoC seasonal trend report - tells you what trends to go for based on your SP. Has anyone ever bought it?

shopafrolic · 22/09/2017 09:10

Random question of the day - where do you buy your socks from?

shopafrolic · 22/09/2017 09:33

Anyone wanting Levis - FRIENDS20 gets you 20% off everything until 29/9

libertyonhertravels · 22/09/2017 10:07

Shop most of my socks are from M&S, but my favourite pairs are Falke ones I got in TKMaxx - as I replace them I plan to buy Falke from now on. I got the HoC trend report one year and wasn't particularly impressed but it may have improved.

Ming another vote for Uniqlo merino here - I have 4 fine knit merino cardigans from them and 3 sweaters - they wash really well and have a great selection of colours.

libertyonhertravels · 22/09/2017 10:11

If anyone wants anything from Aspinal THEATRE gets 15% off until 2nd October.

Ming thanks for the St A efforts on my behalf - I am calming down at least. It's almost liberating not having a phone - forced SM and internet detox.

After a very stormy start the day has brightened up considerably here - heading out for a run with DH shortly.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 22/09/2017 12:03

another vote for Uniqlo merino or even the cashmere and cotton mix if they have it this year. i only have cardigans rather than sweaters but they've all washed and worn really well

still feeling unwell, forced myself to get dressed today just to try and feel normal but ugh it was so much effort and really wiped me out. DP is going to pick me some more cough medicine up on his way home, see if it helps. loathe to go to the doctors for what im sure is just a virus though i am concerned about my chest as it's hit me so hard and i'm getting so out of breath so easily. will see.

very simple OOTD here, black pleated skirt, white and black bee print blouse, burgundy tights and the grey ugg boots i use as slippers

Stokey · 22/09/2017 13:40

Dry would you recommend the me + em layering tops? they're quite pricey but think they may be what I need to keep me from freezing at work.

Shop I've got quite a few sets of bamboo ones from TK Maxx. They're really soft, but tend to get a bit holey after a few months.

Also quite liking the colourful tight type ones from &OS - I got some black & silver stripy ones last year & they're good for when your socks show.

Stokey · 22/09/2017 13:43

Actually Jaeger are good too for knitwear. They have an outlet that normally has good deals - wool & cashmere.

I think I may need an A4 bag too, may just buy another pliage or maybe a tote.

Itsraininagain · 22/09/2017 17:22

Evening ladies ... have posted before for advice under a different user name. Anyway, loving the links as usual . Quick question - has anyone bought J. Crew Cashmere? Wondering what the quality is like before I order.

Thanks.
