Well, summer barely happened so we're ready to pack away the shorts and the kaftans and get excited about boots, cosy knits and anything new and shiny.
We're often scared to link what we're lusting after for fear of lurkers buying it before we have the chance. So if you're a lurker, come and join us.
Carrying on from here

I can't find it Hmm

FedupNagging · 17/09/2017 19:52

Was someone looking for side stripe trousers? These from MV are nice although £89 for 100% poly.

Shop I'll look for it......

FedupNagging · 17/09/2017 19:54

Here it is Shop

Hush, MV & Cos all get a thumbs up

shopafrolic · 17/09/2017 20:07

Thanks Fedup
I think MV are massively overpriced now (much like Hush). I was interested to see Jo Whiley featured in their catalogue - she looked like she'd sold out a bit. Nowhere near her usual edgy style.

libertyonhertravels · 17/09/2017 20:54

shop I have had my Me&Em joggers for over a year. I usually wear them at home/school run but decided to make them part of my travelling capsule wardrobe and I've had loads of compliments on them. I got them for about £45 I think in the sale. They always have a similar style on the go, drawstring waist, pockets etc. V v comfy and the cut means they can look quite smart.

libertyonhertravels · 17/09/2017 20:57

I agree MV and Hush are very overpriced. Hush doesn't seem to suit me and I have stopped even trying on. I have never bought from MV. The Kin range at John Lewis looks good and H&M is good for lounge wear. Also Other Stories do great sweatshirt IMO.

MrsPear · 17/09/2017 22:05

Hello again

Lovely seeing a few links. Glad move went well. I'm recovering from surgery atm so lounging in leggings and long t shirt and jumper dress - not stylish.

Anyway trying to cheer myself up by shopping for a wedding - not English hence the bling here any ideas on shoes and bag?

BerniceBobsHerHair · 18/09/2017 10:17

Hello
Wow MrsPear that really is a blingy wedding. I'm not too good at bling but bagwise I would guess a plain or sparkly clutch (different colour) could work. I like these little Furla bags blue and pink but not sure if they can double up as a clutch. On the other end of the scale price wise Next has loads of clutches - Think a bright pink one could work but they have lots of colours. Silver could also be good. There are others on here who will be much better informed than me however!
Congratulations on the move, Marsha - packers are definitely the way to go. Actually DH may be able to recommend some London based architects - I will ask him later.

I like the look of Hush and have a few things from there but agree they are overpriced in the main. I have been reading the Hush obsessives thread and someone on there commented that their jersey is actually pretty good quality compared to the rest and I would agree, I have had my harems for a good number of years and probably wear them once a week (slob that I am) and they are still going strong! Will check out Me and Em too as I love a smart jogger Grin
Glad all went well with the first part of your move Lib and hope you enjoy the change of pace.

I have that facemask too Justa though I keep forgetting to use it. I have also just bought this using the M&S code - perfect canvas primer - v ££ but I need all the help I can get and I like the fact it is silicone free. I also bought - influenced by the ravings on another thread - ultimate sleep cream (and a pair of sparkly flats)
FedUp I noticed you weren't posting but hadn't clocked you were on holiday - hope you had a fab time. Was it somewhere hot? Envy
Those boots are great Stokey - how is your new job going and how is the work wardrobe shaping up?
Hello to everyone else - happy Monday Smile

libertyonhertravels · 18/09/2017 21:39

Different pace it is Bernice Smile. Thoroughly enjoyed my first Monday as a woman of leisure. Went to the gym with DH followed by a long walk on the beach. Weather was amazing, really sunny, bit chilly and dry. Fingers crossed it lasts. Those sparkly shoes are fantastic!

MrsPear that dress looks amazing. I agree with Bernice that a clutch in a contrasting colour would be great, maybe navy or silver shoes.

FedupNagging · 19/09/2017 08:44

Fab dress Mrs Pear; I would probably go for silver/pewter clutch and shoes; black at a pinch.

Bernice the weather was hot most of the time luckily with only one rainy afternoon. Those sparkly flats are lovely - Queen would love them too.

I'm using this Ren moisturiser at the moment (from the advent calender) - it's really really lovely but doesn't have an spf so probably won't purchase the full size.

Just about to head out to work - ootd is White company 3/4 sleeve breton dress, navy opaques and jalouse boots - can't believe the tights are on & it's only mid september!

AmberNectarine · 19/09/2017 09:14

I'd go for a very simple strappy silver sandal and a bright pink satin clutch with that dress MrsPear. The differing textures would work well, I think.

Really autumn now, isn't it? I'm in OTK boots, a wool coat, a scarf and opaques.

AmberNectarine · 19/09/2017 09:14

I mean, a dress as well, obviously.

shopafrolic · 19/09/2017 09:49

Morning all.
MrsPear I'd go with silver shoes and pink clutch a la Amber's suggestion.
I"m wearing my new M&S cashmere today. It isn't quite as cool toned in the grey as I had thought but I've upped the pink lips to compensate. Has anyone seen a bright/ neon pink scarf anywhere?

BerniceBobsHerHair · 19/09/2017 11:34

These shoes are lovely MrsPear

MrsPear · 19/09/2017 13:11

They are lovely bernice and the great thing about shoes is they never get small. I'm also getting a navy lace dress too from phase eight As I'm on hand luggage and need to minimise shoes and bags! I'm thinking those 2 and my navy floral frock for dinner with inlaws. Three nights. Days mooching about town and seeing h's family. Plus the wedding. Albanian weddings are a week long - we are joining in towards the end.

libertyonhertravels · 19/09/2017 17:49

So this morning, ran out to the car to go to the gym, realised that I had left something in the house, PUT PHONE ON CAR ROOF and got back into car and drove of down winding country roads without REMOVING SAID PHONE FROM SAID ROOF...FUCK, FUCK, FUCK.

If anyone wants to contact me in next few days until I get this sorted please email or pm here...
To make the pain worse I have the following convo with Blingy ringing in my ears...

Blingy Don't forget to link your phone contacts to a Gmail account
me oh yeah, that's a great idea - thanks I'll do that
FAMOUS LAST WORDS because true to form I forgot to FUCKING do it

MarshaBrady · 19/09/2017 18:56

Oh no!!! Lib would it be right where you were rather than further along the road? Not that means it's easy to find!

Really feel for you!

Bernice that would be ace

I really want to catch up properly but still feel like there's so much to do I don't know where to start

architect / builder
kitchen
car
decorate
a new bed
nursery for garden
windows and internal doors
external door
curtains

Too much! Need to prioritise

libertyonhertravels · 19/09/2017 19:29

This is what the road is like - both DH and I have hunted around where we left from and I walked about 2 miles along as well. The first thing that bothered me was the contacts - then I told DD she burst into tears because videos of her school plays etc are on there and loads of photos of her with her friends Sad. I am the biggest idiot ever not to have backed it up.

Marsha when the list is long I often finds it helps just to do anything off the list - doing one thing will make you feel more in control and get you thinking about what needs to happen next. Good luck - exciting times Smile

MarshaBrady · 19/09/2017 19:54

So hard Sad yes that looks impossible. I really feel for you all,

Oh and add sofa, desk, lights, hoover

How did that list happen! Out of nowhere, change one thing and it all explodes

Fedup welcome back from holiday, great weather sounds so nice

Dreamqueen · 19/09/2017 19:58

How awful Lib

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 19/09/2017 20:12

oh no lib how terrible Sad

i'm still ill so have done nothing and haven't got dressed properly all day, i've just got no energy at all. ugh, hope it goes soon

DryWhiteagainW · 19/09/2017 22:49

Oh no liberty that's awful, so sorry.

MrsPear fabulous dresses, love a 'do' and a bit of lace.

justasecond · 19/09/2017 23:16

Oh gosh lib how awful Sad Flowers Wine

welcome back fedup glad you had a good holiday

Marsha sounds like you have your hands full. I love buying home stuff though

Mrs Pear lovely outfits, the navy lace dress looks very elegant

My ongoing and long term menstrual woes are getting me down at the moment. I feel drained after a particularly bad few days. Seeing a new consultant though who seems to be a bit more inclined to address the issue.

Hope you feel better soon One

Serenite · 20/09/2017 00:20

I'm really only getting into people's names' in responding so I'll get better as I get more used to it 😉 Apologies in advance if necessary!
That's terrible Lib, loosing the phone is one of those things that can really get you down as there's a lot of memories attached to it and just at this particular time too. Listen - get St Anthony on the case, no getting the big stick out to hit yourself with, no I should have's - It's so easy to intend to do the important things and not quite get round to them. I am entirely dense about technology but I really hope you get video/pictures retrieved/keep looking and believe you'll find it.
One - I hope you feel better soon, I love reading about you and your style.
Marsha - I hope you love your new home, are very content there (and have planned an amazing wardrobe space!)
Mrs Pear I agree with Amber and the others, I can see a fuchsia pink bag and silver sandals, I'm not such a fan of matching bag/shoes. Let the dress dazzle and the shoes be discrete but fab and a dash of colour in the bag. The shoes linked from Hobbs are very elegant though. The wedding sounds very lively I hope you enjoy it.
Bernice - love those sparkly shoes, I am very tempted...
I've bought a good few bits from Hush and do wear them, they fill a gap in the wardrobe for comfy but slightly stylish. Had I not seen the brand discussed on here last year however it would have gone over my head - in my local John Lewis last year their Hush section was uninspiring and a lot of the clothes don't have much hanger appeal. It's much better this year. The price points are hard to figure out, I liked a jacket last week in JL and was surprised it was about 80 quid, the next one I liked was nearly 200 and I didn't see a great difference in the quality/design. Similarly I have a few of the Tara dresses which I find great and v well priced but others are possibly not as detailed and more expensive. Not looked at Me and Em. Got the Bajuken (?) brouchure last week and loved loads there - never bought anything though.
I am having a major clearout - it's going to take months to do it properly but I'm determined!! I can't just throw things away/charity shop as I'd like the spondoolies to buy more style 😉 so....am having to think about EBay 😱 which is a total pain but is worth it I suppose. Will have to get help to get set up. I'm not good with clutter so I've had all my clutter/mountains of clothes I don't wear nicely organised and put away - it's the realisation of every wardrobe being 3/4 stuffed with clothes I never wear (!!!) that's made me start - but now it's having to come out of the drawers/wardrobes and I feel there's stuff everywhere 😱

Everyonelovessparkles · 20/09/2017 08:35

Oh no lib. What a nightmare about the phone. I really feel for you. Hope it gets sorted soon.

Nice dresses mrspear, wedding sounds great fun!

marsha not very Voguette but I fully recommend a Bosch cordless upright Hoover. Since we got one we rarely use the proper one, it is great for giving everywhere a quick once over. It works ok on carpet but is great for hard floor. I must use ours about 5 times a day to keep on top of the DC crumbage probably not a word but does describe perfectly the ability of my DC to turn one piece of toast into enough bread to feed the 5000. Also as lib's advice of just doing anything on the list, anything that is a quick win, rather than trying to work out priorities sounds a good idea.

serenite good luck with the sorting out. I love sorting out, though I have been known to tip everything out and then just shove it back into the drawers when I've realised the task is greater than I thought.

Another lovely autumn morning here. Out with a friend tonight. OOTD is navy jeans, the white lace/ crochet monsoon top they dry also has, navy Reiss blazer and tan ankle boots with my navy coach hobo bag. dry I saw on WITs instagram that she wore the top in winter with a cream polo neck underneath so I might try that as a way of making it a 'year round' top. It looked good on her.
