Well, summer barely happened so we're ready to pack away the shorts and the kaftans and get excited about boots, cosy knits and anything new and shiny.
We're often scared to link what we're lusting after for fear of lurkers buying it before we have the chance. So if you're a lurker, come and join us.
Carrying on from here

That dress is lovely blair it's not too out there but I do know what you mean about certain looks not translating well out of London, same problem here.

Thanks lib and mara I will try on the dress tomorrow and put a pic on pin for your feedback/amusement Grin I think you are right about the matching navy scarf. I will try a neutral dark taupe and see how it looks.

libertyonhertravels · 12/09/2017 11:25

I have just bought the dress as well justa Grin I love it.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/09/2017 12:26

My colleague walked in today wearing The H&M dress a la Mara and justa and now lib!! Grin She is tall so it looks great, but she said her husband hates it, lol.

libertyonhertravels · 12/09/2017 14:18

It's a definite man repeller item Blair Grin

MrsPear · 12/09/2017 14:44

I don't think that h and m dress is something I could could carry off - no where near willowy or tall enough!
Wore my new loafers today with black trousers, white t and camel cardigan.

Look forward to the pic

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/09/2017 15:23

Lib those were her exact words Grin

I couldn't either MrsPear, for the same reason!

I just paid £33 to have 2 pairs of jeans shortened - no idea what the going rate is but definitely feel slightly ripped off Hmm wish I had normal legs!

Marsha hope all is going well with house stuff.

maradesbois · 12/09/2017 16:08

Haha Blair and lib, my dh really likes it though although think that may have been to do with spending less Grin

Everyonelovessparkles · 12/09/2017 20:04

I hear you blair on the length of jeans. I think I am pretty average and still find it a nightmare to get jeans in the right leg length.

I ordered this star shirt in the monsoon 20% off the other day. I really like it. Think it will be good with some grey jeans. Just need to get some grey jeans now Grin.

Brought out the black tights today. Feels like summer has finished for this year.

DryWhiteagainW · 12/09/2017 21:48

Another short leg club member here. Blair that's about the going rate for shortening. I'm chuffed, paid £12 to get a new zip put into my Paige Jimmies so won't have to replace them for a bit.

So happy to be into my Autumn clothes. Love boots and knits. Just feel I have little to contribute here as my wardrobe is pretty good atm but I'm sure I'll find some bits

Longislandicetee · 12/09/2017 22:12

Evening!!!

So Lib and I had a very lovely MU last night, which I reckon is up there with the most glamorous MU we have had on mnv as she was my date for a "do". We drank champagne, scoffed some canapés and tried on lots of lovely bling.Grin I have to say she looked lovely! Colours really suited her, navy and gold dress with lovely gold jewellery. We did very well at not talking about the fact that she's off till it got to time to say goodbye. Cue tears. Sniff.

I do feel I have given her something to remember me by.....the Roland Mouret dress (which I had worn to work and frantically tried to hide under a jacket all day!) was eye poppingly boobylicious.GrinGrinGrin

libertyonhertravels · 12/09/2017 22:43

I can confirm that I have seen more of Blingy's boobs than may have been necessary Grin. MrBlingy is a lucky man. It was definitely the most glamorous MNV MU! I loved your Lucy Choi shoes - I definitely need a sparkly low heel shoe.

The only downer was the crashing realisation at the end of the night that it will be a while before we can do something like that again 😢

On a lighter note my friend I am staying with tonight noted that the silver lining on the cloud of my department is that she can now buy THE H&M dress too Grin

libertyonhertravels · 12/09/2017 22:44

Departure not department...🙄

Serenite · 13/09/2017 08:47

Hi Ladies,

I've been following this thread for years but I've never posted before. I wonder if you'd please help with a thread I've posted on the main style/beauty thread about an insurance claim issue I'm have by with a chanel bag I've had stolen.

I know talking about these type of bags doesn't always make for a harmonious thread generally but I'm hoping for more traffic on the general S/B thread and hoping for advice rather than a discussion on the price if bags. I just thought it might be worth flagging it up here too.

If anyone here has any advice on how I should handle this I'd really appreciate it (and now finally had the courage to Post here I'll stay!!)

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/09/2017 09:47

Welcome Serenite I have replied on your thread - poor you that is crap.

Mara at least someone's dh has good taste :)

That's good to know Dry, the only jeans I've had shortened previously were at Selfridges, which cost me £20 because I was keeping the original hem. £12 for a zip sounds good. I got this book recently and it's all about alterations, repairs and looking after clothes, pretty interesting.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/09/2017 09:50

Blingy and Lib glad you had a good time last night, sounds fabulous.

libertyonhertravels · 13/09/2017 17:26

Wore the H&M dress today. Buttoned up and with tan Isabel Marant belt, opaques and tan brogues. Bright lippy and gold hoop earrings. Was v happy with it.

Am absolutely exhausted - totally drained from all the goodbyes. Having a quiet evening now.

Serenite · 13/09/2017 18:05

Lib and Blair thank you for your really helpful insights with regard to the insurance issue and my bag. I had already posted on the purse forum (may fall into the slightly bag obsessed - or at least I used to be) but unfortunately only had one reply (and it was a bit stern 😳) I read the forums here most days and dip in and out of purse forum but I haven't posted much until this - however I know people will help if they can, it's the nature of things here.
I am ridiculously excited (despite the circumstances) to be posting on Vogue, I've been reading for years and all the names are so familiar. I haven't read the recent posts, think I was up to the the Gucci belt being bought - am thinking of getting that for myself (or seeing if I can) this week. I've a lot of vouchers from HN that need to be spent before they expire (weekend after next I think) I can't believe they're nearly expired but I always prefer to get one 'good' thing rather than spend a little here and there on make up or things like that. Also considering rockstuds, the heeled Gucci loafers or a down jacket. All advice welcome ❤️
Losing my bag has been a wake up call, I can't believe it's gone, that someone has it, what a terrible thing to do!!! They'll have no luck with actions like that, it's s terrible thing - I often wonder who has it, where it is - silly really.

DryWhiteagainW · 13/09/2017 18:24

Serenite I'd be heart broken too won't mention the evil thoughts I had last night when I was sitting inches away from a Chanel bag......actually I just wanted to stroke it, but that would have looked weird .....and it was sitting next to a Stella McCartney just in case you were wondering
Anyway, the one tiny consolation is that you've joined us for all the fun and it's lovely to have you here Smile

AmberNectarine · 13/09/2017 18:46

I wore sweatpants and an old jumper today as I was WFH and it was GREAT. Got a work event tomorrow though, so will have to suffer in proper tailoring and heels from 7am.

Welcome Serenite, though sorry about the circs - I'd be devvo if I lost my Chanel. I left it in a bar once (had my work laptop with me and was more worried about losing that, as I'd be out of a job) - total panic but the lovely bar staff called me and returned it! Hope the insurers stump up and you can go shopping.

Feels properly autumnal now - 15 today. DD went off in tights for first time in yonks!

Longislandicetee · 13/09/2017 21:52

Oh gosh Serenite you poor thing, hope it works out.Flowers

Lib, the Lucy Choi morocco shoes are only £49 now. I think original price is £200 and am sure it was Amber who found them for me for £90 on the shoeholics website. They're very comfy.

I am doing something "on camera" tomorrow. I have no idea what to wear. I have my period and am bloated, and the camera adds 10lbs. Great.Hmm

shopafrolic · 13/09/2017 22:12

Welcome Serenite I love it when a lurker says hi. Stick around. I'm so sorry about your bag. Very tricky situation, but you have some very detailed advice now. When my Mulberry Bayswater was stolen I had new for old on my policy and it was quite a popular model, so even though the price had increased substantially, it was easy to find a replacement. I hope you get it sorted.
I picked up my new glasses today which I'm really pleased with. Also bought a black pair of Levi 501 skinnies as they are a good cut for me.

littleredpear · 13/09/2017 22:41

Sorry very very busy at work right mum but reading all the posts.

The belts been on quite a few times Smile

Been wanting an All Saints leather jacket but they just don't seem to suit me. Too much hardware for me I think.

Ordered this, it's half the price so let's see what happens

jacket

DryWhiteagainW · 14/09/2017 06:53

Ive gone all preppy today Grin black ankle grazers, black chunky loafers and gingham 3/4 sleeve shirt. Don't think I'm looking too 'mutton'

Little I have to be careful with bikers too Wink.....A Saints just far too grungy for me generally . Yours is lovely.

littleredpear · 14/09/2017 09:29

That's it - too grungy. Lovely jackets but doesn't fit my 30 something grown up look Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 14/09/2017 09:52

Outfit sounds great Dry, you could never look mutton :)

Nice jacket little. Everybody raves about all saints jackets but I tried one and found it too boxy. Mine is from Whistles (it's called Cara so I think this current season one must be the same) and it's perfect for me. So don't get hung up on AS but hopefully the Yas one will be just right.

Heating came on this morning! Wearing a heattech top under a thin merino poloneck.
