Well, summer barely happened so we're ready to pack away the shorts and the kaftans and get excited about boots, cosy knits and anything new and shiny.
We're often scared to link what we're lusting after for fear of lurkers buying it before we have the chance. So if you're a lurker, come and join us.
Carrying on from here

Hello MrsPear Smile

Mara and Amber your outfits sound fabulous!

Never ahead of the curve unless I've held on to something so long it's come back into fashion!

queencerulean · 07/09/2017 21:54

Had such fun looking at colour samples and I'm just waiting for them to send me a couple that were oos in the shop and then I can order. Then just to not ever let the kids sit on them and ruin them Grin

No exciting fashion news from me. Can't wait to go shopping on Saturday. Am hoping to sort through clothes tomorrow and put high summer stuff away as I don't anticipate a heatwave necessitating shorts. I am also retiring some of my cardigans Shock Shock. I've been wearing the coloured ones less and less recently, reaching for my navy and grey ones instead. I won't be getting rid of them though.

Has anyone ever accepted that a few pounds weight gain is meant to be? I don't know whether it's the hrt but my weight seems to have settled at my current weight. I'm sick of constantly battling to get rid of it only for it to go straight back on. I'm trying to reassure myself that actually trying to maintain the weight I was when I got married 13 yo and 3 kids and a perimenouase later just isn't meant to be....

Yes, I have accepted I'll never get to wedding weight again. My main thing is that I will never diet again and I haven't weighed myself in a long time. Dieting just makes me feel unhappy and deprived. I do ease up on booze or desserts when I feel sluggish but my focus is on feeling good. I won't accept loss of fitness though and I have set fitness goals which will hopefully have the added bonus of keeping me in some sort of shape.

MrsPear · 07/09/2017 22:28

I would love to get back to 59 kilos but I don't think it is ever going to happen!

Has anyone seen a decent evening coat? Needs to add warmth!
I was think faux fur cropped or something along those lines!

MrsPear · 07/09/2017 22:30

Oh and my whole wardrobe has been decluttered.

I need an evening coat - see plea above
Black tie dress - glam wedding in October
Camel jumper
Black tote

justasecond · 07/09/2017 22:49

Lots to catch up on!
Sounds like mara and lib were a stylish pair yesterday
I went on a diet to put on weight before I got married, it didn't work Shock wish i had that problem now Smile
Lovely purchases amber love the neverfull and belt and I think you will get good cpw for the tshirt too
shop Love the stripe top.
mara swoon love the trench and the gorgeous gucci loafers. I bought them in light pink suede a while ago and had to return as I was worried they would get trashed. I then reordered in beige leather but they had a diamonte gg rather than the plain one like on yours that I prefer. You have got me wanting some all over again now!

I am loving wearing these cos pink block heels atm they remind me of marsha's gorgeous mansur gavriel shoes. I would wear them everyday if I could but have to check the weather forecast carefully before I do Smile

Gorgeous loafers stokey and good luck for the new job

Don't think I have ever been ahead of the curve either Blush but I have worn dresses over jeans before it was a thing.

I have bought these 2 pairs of trousers from zara

www.zara.com/uk/en/woman/trousers/view-all/trousers-with-side-bands-c733898p4969060.html

www.zara.com/uk/en/woman/trousers/view-all/trousers-with-side-stripe-c733898p4698043.html

The black ones are better not sure about the burgundy ones, they look nice on but a bit mmf heavy. I think I really want some trousers with a side stripe.

Stokey · 08/09/2017 06:52

I like these Me + Em ones Justa. I also tried on these ones in &OS. The cut was good but I got the wrong size and didn't want them enough to faff around changing sizes.

There's lots of faux fur and velvet around MrsPear. I saw quite a few in Zara.

I'm struggling a bit with being a size 12 on the bottom and an 8 on the top at the moment QueenC. I still think I could be fitter though, I've lost track of exercise over the summer and have eaten far too much. But there's half a stone that I've never lost in the 8 years since having children so am aiming to get back to there rather than pre dc weight!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 08/09/2017 07:15

I'm on the fence about accepting my weight, i had sort of accepted that right now, i was going to be big because of all the medications i'm on and my poor mobility but when i went to the pain clinic last week, the doctor there said he wants me to come off one of the meds i'm on and it happens to be one of the ones that made me gain a lot of weight so there is a little hope now that i will drop at least a little bit of weight now. I'm not getting my hopes up too much as i'm still on other medications that cause weight gain but fingers crossed coming off this one will make some difference

i've been decluttering my wardrobe again and have come up with 2 bin bags of stuff that can go to the charity shop! i was pretty ruthless and pulled out anything i know i haven't worn in at least a year and things ive only worn once in a year as clearly i don't ever reach for them so no sense hanging on to them really.

I was thinking of getting a new winter coat but mine is still good for another year really so seems a bit wasteful to buy another when i still have a good one. shame though as i did quite fancy something brightly coloured but perhaps for the best if as i've said above, me coming off this medication makes a difference to my weight, i would hate to buy a new coat intending it to last for a couple of years only to shrink out of it withing a few months

shopafrolic · 08/09/2017 09:29

One while you're waiting to see what the change of meds does to your weight why not treat yourself to a brightly coloured scarf instead? No sizing issues then...... :)
Well done on the decluttering - that's my job today.
I had success on the Trinny preloved selling page on Facebook and picked up an Isabel Marant Etoile peacoat - only worn a couple of times for £75. Really pleased as have wanted a peacoat ever since I sold my rust coloured one to the lovely Lib.
I'm wearing my new IM belt today - absolutely love it. Gives a massive lift to my standard outfit of jeans and a tee.
I hope everyone has fun tomorrow. I am so gutted not to be joining you but I would probably cry a lot anyway.

shopafrolic · 08/09/2017 09:39

Aaaahhhh 90s fashion :)

libertyonhertravels · 08/09/2017 09:59

Oh I had completely forgotten about pedal pushers Smile.

One I agree with Shop get a fantastic new scarf and even a hat and gloves to give your current coat a new look.

I wish you were coming tomorrow Shop...but we'll talk at least before I go.

I bought a lovely new scarf yesterday in a little shop in Kew - no brand label but it's 50/50 cotton and wool and it big stripes of cream, charcoal, taupe and mustard. I love it. Wearing it today with grey jeans and a mustard cardigan looking like the most co-ordinated person ever Grin.

I had a browse around Cos yesterday and OMG there is so much there I would want if I was doing a British winter. My tops picks from there are:

Burgundy hooded coat
This tailored coat is so good
Adore this colour block jumper
I want this textured cardigan very, very badly I managed to walk away from it by telling myself that while I would wear it in Ireland for the next month it would then be put away until at least next May/June but it is so nice.

Justa your Cos shoes are lovely - I also have tried these block heel pumps several times and they are so elegant.

AmberNectarine · 08/09/2017 10:31

Who is coming tomorrow, then?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/09/2017 10:39

I am!

Just checked the weather and now the forecast is rain in the afternoon. We'll have to stay holed up inside with our fizz until it stops.

libertyonhertravels · 08/09/2017 10:41

amber tomorrow is me and you, Marsha, sleep, one, Blair, everyone and Bernice.

libertyonhertravels · 08/09/2017 10:42

I know Blair, it's going to be so hard Wink

Dreamqueen · 08/09/2017 12:26

I'm sad not to be coming tomorrow. On the other hand it's good that I'll be home. DS & DIL are worried about travelling to Mexico now. Can't change destination, so it's either go or lose the money. Very high stress levels. Waiting to make final decision on Sunday.

Shop forgot to say I love your new glasses. Also much love for new bag Amber

AmberNectarine · 08/09/2017 19:46

Great crowd and I'm very excited to meet Bernice!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/09/2017 21:33

I haven't met Bernice, One or everyone! Can't wait! :)

Everyonelovessparkles · 08/09/2017 21:43

Looking forward to tomorrow! The DC have driven me nuts today so really looking forward to an afternoon off.

This leopard print shirt and a red small flower dress dress by coach from the outnet which seems to have sold out, arrived today. The dress is just a tad too short and I'm not sue about the shirt. I like it in theory and have a couple of outfits it would work with, im just not sure it's 'me'.

Apparently bright coats are 'in' this season one so you could get a cheap(ish) statement coat just for this year whilst you see what hapend with your meds / weight??

Aah 90s fashion shop think I wore or owned most of those items listed!

DryWhiteagainW · 08/09/2017 21:57

it's love could even live with the silver hardware every other colour is gold Hmm thinking grey only looks goid w ith silver.

Have a fab time tomorrow at the MU . Look forward to outfit round ups.

Shop pea coat is perfect for you

AmberNectarine · 08/09/2017 22:49

Totally missed one - double excitement!

AmberNectarine · 08/09/2017 22:56

Just looked at shop's link...

Bucket hat - yep, denim one from
H&M. It was shit and I wore it for a year.

Leather blazer - yep, a tan one I bought in a market in Florence. Not a good look.

Pedal pushers - yep, a black pair with those tiny satin roses on the pocket, which I bought from Topshop and wore with a vest and a horrible lilac, acrylic bolero cardigan.

Halterneck tops - but of course - I remember winning the affections of a boy I liked by wear a turquoise stretchy number without a bra. Shameless.

Combat trousers - oh yes, a really shitty camouflage pair from Wimbledon Market which I wore with a Kookai logo crop top and an adidas sweatshirt knotted nonchalantly (or so I thought) around my waist.

TL:DR - I looked like a tool in the nineties.

DryWhiteagainW · 08/09/2017 23:39

Just been chuckling about the 90s fashion Shop linked.
I lived in black combat trousers and fitted tops on the weekend. Remember buying and loving a pair of Dand G white platform trainers from Russel and Bromley.
And I had the most fabulous black leather blazer with huge shoulders from Jaeger.....the softest leather, sold it on EBay a few years ago.

Wonder what trends will symbolise the Tweenies ?

littleredpear · 09/09/2017 00:30

Has anyone seen a long grey fine knot cardigan?

I ordered this one but it looks like a 70s house coat
