Thoughts?

I know a lot of people think hush is overpriced tat, but this thread is for those of us that still buy the odd thing.

I've had a brief look & like the look of the Christie coat & Cassie dress. Last year I got a dress in the same style of this years clover dress, which I love.

However, the prints this year are awful.

I can send a link to a 10% code if anyone wants it. Just drop me a pm. It might just work for new customers though? Or to an email address that's not already registered with them?

Yes Theonlyoneiknow I would say generous I am usually a 12 but have a 10 in this

Pippin8 · 01/10/2017 19:29

I’ve just tried the tansy on, it’s a generous fit. I think I like it, I’m not sure if the print is a bit much? I’ve hung it up, will sleep on it & see what I think tomorrow.

I ordered the jersey wide top at the start of September and it's still not arrived?!

Has anybody tried the Cassie dress?

Pippin8 · 01/10/2017 21:49

I’ve got the grey Cassie dress. I love it, it is thin material, but it’s warm & not see through at all. I wash it at 40c & hang it up damp to dry. It doesn’t need ironing.

I wear it with tights & Chelsea boots. Deffo size down, I’m a 12 & got the medium, it was massive. The small is a perfect fit.

Olive parka came this morning!!! Much excitement in the Mantra household! Was fearing the removable lining might have to be removed permanently, but it doesn't look bulky at all. It's just a really nice coat that works, and like all the Hush stuff I've ordered, it feels comfy and luxe. It's bringing me great, great joy! Grin Grin

MrsPeacockDidIt · 02/10/2017 12:12

My fine knit grey jumper arrived this morning and I LOVE it.

neveradullmoment99 · 02/10/2017 19:32

I have the tansy. It is surprising more generous esp for me around the bust but its perfect and wouldn't size down in it as a I fear it would become restrictive as there is no give in the fabric. I love the print and the colour. It is quite short. Its as short as the Ivy dress. I will be wearing mine tomorrow with leggings and ankle boots.

miffy2 · 02/10/2017 20:27

My order arrived.

Keeping: Sabrina cardigan in light grey. Lovely on, could possibly have gotten away with the small but the medium gives it a bit of swing.
Also keeping the turned up jeans. A liiiiitle tight (12) but I am only half way through a weight loss process so they WILL fit me in a month ;)

Returning:
striped boyfriend jumper. So sad but it is indeed scratchy and would do me in after 5 minutes.
Tansy dress (I forgot I had ordered this. Oops.) Just not for me - lovely fabric and pattern but too swingy, and too similar to the Ivy to keep both. I have my eye on the gardenia dress instead so I will keep an eye out for a restock in a 12!

Mantra the parka sounds fab. I got a parka in New Look last winter and wore it so so much. Could not justify replacing it so soon :)

MrsPeacock that sounds (and looks) like a lovely jumper. Would love to know what you will wear it with as I could do with a fitted-ish jumper for the wide leg trousers I have.

Bloomed · 02/10/2017 23:02

I'm very tempted by the parka! And the Sabrina cardigan.

Laska5772 · 03/10/2017 09:04

Hush Ivy fans.. msy I suggest you look at this H&M dress? The photo doesnt do it justice..but I really love yhe wide sleeves and pockets
I got the pink and black. Def worth a punt ithink.. it comes up big - unusual for H&M I got the 12 and its nicely loose intje same way as the Hush Ivy..

RubbishMantra · 03/10/2017 10:54

Thanks Laska, I may have a punt on that myself at 20 quid. I think it's nicer to look at than the Hush one as it doesn't have a single breast pocket with the fabric going diagonally, (a personal and irrational bugbear).

Laska5772 · 03/10/2017 11:02

Obv it is H&M quality but yes £19.99 ..
. I think ironing will be in order after wash ( hate ironing) anyway wearing it today so will let you know if it looks like a rag after day in office!!

Theycalledmethewildrose · 03/10/2017 11:04

Honestly sometimes there is very little difference between H&M and Hush quality.

Laska5772 · 03/10/2017 11:12

wild i was pleasantly surprised inH&M yesterday .there were several things i quite liked. I thought the dusty pink / black colourway was nicest in that short dress.

Laska5772 · 03/10/2017 11:14

Shirt dress.. fat fingers on phone!!

FizzPopping · 03/10/2017 14:59

My Christie coat hasn't arrived yet and there is no tracking information. They said it was dispatched Friday so keeping my fingers crossed. Apparently it hasn't been scanned out properly so they can't track it - it's sold out now as well so better show up! I've to call them tomorrow if it doesn't arrive.

Pippin8 · 03/10/2017 15:36

I sent the Tansy back, the shape & fit were great. But, I just don’t know if I looked like a middle aged woman trying to look 25 in it.

I’m tempted by the Amie joggers & biker star sweat top. I’m a 12 but quite busty, would large be too big?

I also like the Leo coat, but it’s sold out everywhere. Does anyone have it, is it as lovely as it looks? I’m tempted to try the Christie in olive, I sent the navy back as wasn’t keen, but recently every time I wear dark green I get compliments. It must be my colour.

Ohh, can I play?

I just got the Cicely dress which I LOVE, haven't seen anyone else on the thread with it (have skimmed though as tis long).

Also got the Clifton boots, they're lovely in the flesh, but I'm a 6/7, they'd sold out of the 40s so I chanced a 39, and no way my giant wide foot was even getting in there, so they're going back. Which has caused me sorrow.

Got the S for the Cicely and it looks great but I'm unsure of whether to size down to the XS, it's obviously meant to be loose but I'm in two minds if it would benefit from being a little smaller. Lovely fabric and shape though and perfect length (I'm a shade off 5'8).

Will post a pic, would appreciate any advice!

ILikeyourHairyHands · 03/10/2017 19:44

Cicely, excuse dodgy photo, am shit at selfies, had to get the husband on the job.

Hush new collection.
miffy2 · 03/10/2017 19:44

Keep an eye out for the boots as there could easily be a return, that is how I have managed to nab a few things there.

Pippin I am still in two minds over the star biker sweatshirt. I have it in a large, the medium was a bit tight. I am 12-14 and quite busty too. The L is a good fit but certainly not baggy on me. It is quite heavy and I am one for layering so my big question is whether it will be too heavy for me to wear on a regular basis (for example the weight of the sloppy joe top is perfect for me). I am veering towards returning it...

ILikeyourHairyHands · 03/10/2017 19:46

Cheers Miffy, I suspected there may be, may email to see if they get any returns.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 03/10/2017 19:53

Think the Cicely looks much better than the photo would suggest!

I'm prone to looking a bit boxy with loose styles as I have very broad shoulders and much slimmer hips and waist and am always afeared of looking a bit 'barrely'.

Laska5772 · 03/10/2017 20:13

Hairy no need to email just look every morning around 9.30 that when they usually have returns relisted on the site .

Th e H&M dress ( if anyone interested ) survived a day at work - mostly sitting down - really well, didnt crease at all which am surprised at . I am really pleased with it .

ILikeyourHairyHands · 03/10/2017 20:15

Excellent Laska, will do that.
