Try dc trase slip on? Hard sole and comfy

iseenodust · 14/08/2017 14:15

Reiker go up to a 43 and are available in a lot of UK small chains/independent shoe shops (also online).

flumpybear · 14/08/2017 14:16

Welly boots are waterproof too and look nice r .... return Confused

woollyminded · 14/08/2017 14:24

Massively loyal (30 years, yikes) to Docs (1461)

IrritatedUser1960 · 14/08/2017 14:28

A big fat zero. They are the shoes all the women over 60 wear in a provincial home counties town.
Bin them and run away.

665TheNeighbourOfTheBeast · 14/08/2017 14:40

You have my sympathies OP
anything above an 8 and suddenly your down to two styles and they are both nasty eg Riker (recommender above) have exactly two on their websitein a 9 and the word Meh could be used repeatedly for both!

Marisota have by far the largest range of 9's and 10's that we have found (and we have looked and looked) across a widish range of styles and brands

665TheNeighbourOfTheBeast · 14/08/2017 14:41

oh and waterproof spray is only £3.00 - just not worth looking for pre-waterproofed unless you want hiking boots sadly

user7841794168 · 14/08/2017 14:43

Size 43, flat, waterproof, that I can return postage free if they don't fit, that I can wear into a (very casual dress code) office.

Dr Martens.

ladyyyglittersparkles · 14/08/2017 14:47

Rankkkkkkk

skyzumarubble · 14/08/2017 14:48

Leather cons are fairly waterproof.

Clarks Hamble oaks go to a 43 and are really comfy.

Both pairs you posted are horrid, sorry op.

WowserBowser · 14/08/2017 14:56

I actually feel a wee bit sorry for you after this thread!

And if anyone else suggests Dr Martens I will slaughter a cow and knock up a pair of shoes for you myself.

CatACombs · 14/08/2017 14:58

They are not to most people's taste, but they might be fine on you!

Maybe they make sense with your style, but not necessarily someone else's.

CatACombs · 14/08/2017 14:58

And I thought the second ones were definitely better.

OcelotnotGiraffe · 14/08/2017 15:00

I think some posters are being a bit mean.
The first pair were awful but the second pair were a lot better imho.

OcelotnotGiraffe · 14/08/2017 15:01

Ps I also wear blue jeans and black shoes so may be best not to take style advice from me Grin

WowserBowser · 14/08/2017 15:04

My DM comment was because the op has already said more than once that she can't wear them.

woollyminded · 14/08/2017 15:09

Oo wowser, missed that (didn't read properly). Although I would be mightily impressed if you did knock out some shoes to order. Watched a doc about shoe makers once and was gripped, would love to have some handmade.

squoosh · 14/08/2017 15:12

Definitely nun shoes.

HareTodayDragonTomorrow · 14/08/2017 15:15

They are these ones. They did have brown but I thought black would look smarter and would be more versatile.

I would be like a little elf

Theycalledmethewildrose · 14/08/2017 15:18

Are you make/female OP?

Have you looked at Diadora black trainers. They are unisex?

Otherwise Camper have unisex shoes. DM would too.

woollyminded · 14/08/2017 15:19

I like those Hare, considered them last autumn but bought some Fly instead. Wish I'd got those tbh as the Fly didn't turn out to be very comfy so I haven worn them much

squoosh · 14/08/2017 15:20

Actually these Ecco shoes are the true nun shoes. The Op's are merely a convincing imitation.

Bombardier25966 · 14/08/2017 15:21

The boots would be fine with a skinny jean, but with bootlegs they just look like clompy mens shoes.

Lots of suggestions have been given for nicer shoes, Camper do some great shoes, and the Clarks Hamble Oaks suit anyone. They're not the most exciting but far better than the two so far.

Theycalledmethewildrose · 14/08/2017 15:23

Sorry just read you can't wear DM.

I'd probably go for tan/brown if wearing with jeans other than black jeans. Black shoes and blue jeans can be very hard to pull off without looking frumpy.

Chelsea boots look great with jeans. Try Dune? Or check the Diadora trainers out. I think they might fit the bill while looking more stylish.
