Was just googling "petite maxi skirt" (seems to be a rarity) and Pilot came up as an option. Remember pilot?! Didn't know it was still going. Which then reminded me of similar store Bay Trading which I used to love as a teen. And etam!

Any others you lot remember?

Oh and if you know any good places to get a petite maxi skirt for a wedding do let me know, I'm really struggling here.

Does anyone remember Allders? Department Store that was mainly superseded by Debenhams ( don't think they took them over, it just seemed they took over Allders sites)
So much Christmas tat and endless handbags

I miss Bhs at Christmas.

TheFaerieQueene · 21/07/2017 11:41

I remember when Miss Selfridge first opened. I was working in M&S on a Saturday when I was doing my A levels and they opened next door. It was wonderful and v good quality. I loved the make up and my lipstick kiss print dressing gown was a treasured item. I'm possibly a little outside their age demographic now, but I still have a look at their clothes from time to time, with a nostalgic smile.

MrsJayy · 21/07/2017 11:45

Oo i had the kiss print dressing gown 😊

MrsJayy · 21/07/2017 11:46

SingaporeSlander · 21/07/2017 11:56

Stolen from Ivor is somewhere deep in my memory, but I don't really remember what it is...

Ah all of them, Bay Trading, Morgan, Jane Norman etc

We had a Next to Nothing in another bit of the Midlands!

Iamtheresurrection · 21/07/2017 11:57

I remember what every woman wants which then became What Everyone Wants. A boy from school got a job there and part of it involved cutting the labels off clothes from Next, Dorothy Perkins!

SingaporeSlander · 21/07/2017 11:58

Naf Naf! Sweater Shop! Colours of Benetton (still around but hey...) Excellent nostalgia.

squoosh · 21/07/2017 11:59

Does anyone remember a 90's clothes shop called Issue? I have fond memories but I never knew if it was a standalone shop or part of a chain

It was an Irish chain that was then taken over by Oasis. I bought my first crotch popper body tops there. Loved it.

squoosh · 21/07/2017 12:00

Another Irish chain I miss is A-Wear, they had some great stuff.

PecanPiePoppet · 21/07/2017 12:01

Snowballs - Debenhams bought up the BHS lighting department, stock and the buying team, great range.

SingaporeSlander · 21/07/2017 12:02

Rackhams! Sorry still reading and getting excited Smile

Pinkkahori · 21/07/2017 12:04

squoosh Delighted someone else remembers Issue. Early 90's Cork by any chance?

MissEliza · 21/07/2017 12:07

I loved Chelsea Girl and Dolcis as a teenager. There was also a chain called Wrygges in Scotland which I liked. Tammy Girl was good for pre-teens. It's a shame it's not still around as there not much for that age bracket.

squoosh · 21/07/2017 12:10

Early 90s Dublin for me Pink Grin

Housewife2010 · 21/07/2017 12:37

I loved my jumpers from Solo in the mid 80s. They all had shoulder pads and were very bright. My favourites had lurex thread. My BFF dissuaded me from buying the orange one with a purple lurex pattern.

neveradullmoment99 · 21/07/2017 13:07

Mushybanna23 · 21/07/2017 13:08

What about cabbage patch kids

neveradullmoment99 · 21/07/2017 13:09

..and i really miss Lewis's in Glasgow. Now taken over by Debenhams and nothing like the same. The toys and confectionary dept were amazing!! I used to marvel and the fabulous wigs!

Backingvocals · 21/07/2017 13:10

Going to do some time travelling now and say:

Lady at Lord John

One for the older crowd, that one.

Backingvocals · 21/07/2017 13:11

And:

Richard Shops

Arealhumanbeing · 21/07/2017 13:25

Tammy Girl! And I had forgotten about Dolcis!

PoppyPopcorn · 21/07/2017 13:34

Chelsea Girl from my youth. So much better than River Island.

MissEliza · 21/07/2017 13:35

Yes I loved Lewis's as a child too. Debenhams and the St Enoch's centre are just crap IMHO.

FeiYenKansu · 21/07/2017 14:33
