Recently discovered Korean "Italy towels" and they have all but got rid of my keratosis pilaris and severe dry skin

I just wanted to share my event discovery. They are Korean exfoliating product called "Italy Towels" (you can find them on Amazon by searching "Korean Italy Towels" ) which are like a little exfoliating glove but miles better.
I have really terrible dry skin on my arms due to ill health and bright red keratosis pilaris.

I have used them for around a month (after a long bath), along with my regular body lotions and the difference is astonishing. My KP (which was visable from the other side of the room) is all but gone and I no longer have dry skin. The difference they have made to me is incredible, I no longer feel like I have to cover up even in heatwaves.

Just wanted to give them a shout out because they are cheap and really work.

I was slightly damp after my soak in the bath, but I used the towel dry, no soap. It quickly became slightly damp too, which seemed to work perfectly. Not sure if that was correct, up it was certainly effective.

SoupDragon · 22/07/2017 16:04

I was just reading that link and it mentions using it on your face. How do you soak your face for 15 minutes?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 22/07/2017 16:39

No way am I using it on my face. It will fall off.

SoupDragon · 22/07/2017 16:58

Well, there is that but it might leave youthful dewy skin once it's all fallen off :o

I probably wouldn't use the green one, no, but she mentions both a pink gentle one and a yellow industrial strength one I'm tempted to search out for my hoofs.

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 22/07/2017 20:56

I have used it after a shower and it worked well, but I was in the shower quite a while - shaved legs and underarms as well as standard shampoo, conditioner and body wash, so not a quick morning shower.

3luckystars · 25/07/2017 21:43

Mine have arrived!

I used mine today. Oh my god! The skin that came off! The bath looked like I'd been making porridge in it.

I used it all over my body and can already see and feel a difference. I'm so smooth! The redness on the tops of my arms has really improved.

fabulousfrancesca · 08/08/2017 14:25

I saw this thread on Sunday and ordered them from Amazon prime. I used one last night. Oh my god, it was amazing! So much skin in the bath!

3luckystars · 08/08/2017 16:26

Ok I have tried one gently on myself. I was very gentle because I was worried I'd sandpaper my skin off. They made a very slight difference but I know I need to be rougher.
I was a bit cautious because my skin is so sensitive and I didn't know what they are made of.

So I just want to double check, it's :

Bath for 20 mins.
Stand up.
Scrub all over with wet green sandpaper towel.
Rinse.

That's it is it?

fabulousfrancesca · 08/08/2017 17:42

Yep. I wasn't really that rough, maybe my skin is just manky Confused I moisturised liberally afterwards.

squoosh · 19/08/2017 14:44

I gave these a proper go this morning. Didn't bother with a bath just had a ten min shower, got out and started rubbing. So much skin, especially from my legs. Black tiles on floor so could see exactly how much was coming off (lovely bit of detail I know). My upper arms haven't felt this smooth in an age.

explodingkittens · 20/08/2017 18:31

I bought a pack of these on the back of this thread baaaa

I love them! Used them in the bath and saw an immediate improvement - smooth silky skin, really impressive. I do use one in the shower as well even though I don't 'soak' then, it still seems to work. It does feel a bit like dragging sandpaper over your skin but it's worth it imo. Has made a huge difference to my upper arms in particular.

countyhall · 24/08/2017 08:36

I've used mine four times now and I have found the following works best - I have access to a gym with spa so I do 20 lengths, then I get into the steam room for as long as I can bear (15 mins), then into the jacuzzi for 10 minutes, then use the towel in the shower and yes, very effective although it is a lot of work to painstakingly polish every inch of your body!

I bought a long "back" towel too to make sure I am covering everywhere. I have also learned that you need to scrub every week to keep up the shine :)

Gammeldragz · 22/03/2018 10:07

Sorry for posting on an old thread, but I've just read all this and ordered some. I have dry and bumpy chicken skin/kp so hoping for some effect.

holycityzoo · 22/03/2018 11:23

Gammel they really are very very good the best thing I've ever used to exfoliate. I actually think there is witchcraft in them!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/04/2018 22:16

Bumping this thread ......

FatBallsAndSunflowerSeeds · 15/04/2018 22:18

I would love to try these but I only have a shower so I don't think they would work Sad

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/04/2018 19:02

I bought some today - there were pink/green/yellow

Is there a difference between them?
I went for green (for me) and pink(for DD) but I'll swap them over if green is kinder.

JuicySwan · 08/06/2018 10:04

Mine arrived today 😁

I’ve already been using a Salux towel for about 3 weeks so it’ll be interesting to see if any extra skin comes off with the Italy Cloth.

I’ve been really impressed with the Salux; my shins always used to get dry, scaly and itchy but now they’re lovely and soft and don’t itch anymore.

I used to get bumpy skin on the backs of my upper arms and thighs - all gone.

And my elbow and knee skin is now as soft as a baby’s 😮

Not noticed my fingers being sore the mitt itself is a bit fiddly to use but ok.

I use mine after a bath with Dead Sea salt 30 minute soak (the bath is my least favourite bit, really boring with no bubbles and trying to keep all my body except my face under water)

The skin that comes off is amazing Grin Shock
I use once a week .

LoniceraJaponica · 11/06/2018 07:20

I have some exfoliating gloves like these. Can anyone tell me how these towels compare to the exfoliating gloves.

JuicySwan · 11/06/2018 08:16

No comparison. Towels far more effective.

SarahBeeney · 11/06/2018 22:57

I've ordered some too...
